Altador Cup XVII

The news, hot off the press, from TNT themselves as they unravel their own coverage for Altador Cup XVII.

Ready or not AC is on the Horizon! - Date posted May 26th, 2022

In last year's XVIth Altador Cup the home team Altador took 1st place to beat out Kreludor, followed by Darigan Citadel! Kreludor's management, not pleased with their second-place performance, was quick to replace their right forward with a brutish Pteri. Although he has been relentless in practice, swiftly earning the team's respect, rumour has it their new player is a bit of a hothead. Kiko Lake has also been fine-tuning their roster, drafting gentle giant Lili Lever to bolster their defences in hopes of rising to the top! Everybody is amped-up this year and with all the teams training intensely, you never know whose hard work will push them to the top of the podium!

Starting With a Bang! - Date posted June 9th, 2022

The Altador Cup has commenced, and right out the gate teams across Neopia are starting strong! The air is thick with competition this year, with five teams jumping ahead of the rest. Virtupets, Meridell, Kreludor, Krawk Island, and Brightvale are leading the pack this year, quickly earning 3 Round Robin wins each. They are followed closely by four other powerhouse teams: Mystery Island, Maraqua, Darigan Citadel and Tyrannia, who each have accumulated two wins under their belt. Trailing behind them are Terror Mountain, Roo Island, Faerieland, and Moltara with one win each. Feldon 'Dinksy' Collibridge played a major role in propelling Krawk Island to the top of the Round Robin results, earning her the number one spot on the Top Goal Scorers leaderboards. Hot on her trail is Kayn Hireck, whose crafty moves keep tripping up the competition. With these tenacious athletes leaving it all out on the field, it's still too soon to say who will end up at the peak of the podium!

In the Thick of It! - Date posted June 18th, 2022

It's been a thrilling past couple of days with longtime rivals Meridell and Brightvale currently vying for the top position with Maraqua and Krawk Island close behind. However, this doesn't mean the other teams aren't holding their ground. While last year's Champions Team Altador is in the lower ranks at the moment, many fans suspect they'll turn it around soon and make their way back to the top! And in another fun turn of events, Kayn Hireck from Team Brightvale became the Top Goal Scorer with some tricky tail manoeuvres. Hireck won't be keeping top place without a fight, though. Krawk Island's Centre Forward, Feldon "Dinksy" Collibridge, is close enough to bite Hireck's ankles and take back the spot for herself. With all this action going on in the field, it's easy to forget about everything going on behind the scenes! There's been word that this year's Altador Cup has brought in quite a crowd which means our staff here at the Altador Cup has been hard at work. So we wanted to give a big thank you to one of our hardest workers, our resident Slushie Slinger, Cheryl Shelly!

Not Over Until It's Over - Date posted June 29th, 2021

Here at Altador Cup, things are heating up as the Round Robins close with Meridell taking the lead over Brightvale, who is closely followed by Maraqua! Some fans in the front rows say you can literally feel the heat of competition wafting up from the field; it's either that or the fire yooyuball! It's not over 'til it's over, though, and the teams currently in the lower ranks are fighting hard to get back on top! Team Tyrannia, Moltara, Roo Island, and Shenkuu are all battling to make it out of the middle and push their way to lead positions! Over in the Top Goal Scorers, Kayn Hireck from Team Brightvale and Feldon "Dinksy" Collibridge from Team Krawk Island are still duking it out for first place. Hireck has managed to maintain his lead over Collibridge, but Aldric Beign from Team Moltara is coming up right behind them! And in other news, Kiko Lake's newest player, Lili Lever, seems to be keeping up morale despite their current standing in last place. After her initial debut, many fans thought her nervous personality would hinder the team, but she appears to really come out of her shell on the field! While some teams might be dismayed by their current standings, Kiko Lake seems to be fighting harder than ever, with credit given to Lever's optimistic outlook!

Final Stretch! - Date posted July 1st, 2021

Kayn Hireck from Team Brightvale has been holding a steady lead as the Top Goal Scorer for a while, but Feldon "Dinksy" Collibridge from Team Krawk Island is fighting to jump to the top with all his strength. Dinksy has been able to close the gap with only a minimal difference between them, but with time running out, he will have to pull off some pretty impressive moves to take the top spot now! But, just as many fans know, no one has a guaranteed win here at the Altador Cup! That's why all teams are gearing up for the final rounds with fierce intensity! Team Meridell has been a front-runner in this competition for some time, and they show no signs of slowing down! They know that if they relax now, another team, such as Team Krawk Island or Brightvale, could swoop in and snatch up first place right before their very eyes. One of these powerhouses may just have this tournament in the bag!

However, there's word going around that the Altdaor Cup Committee has been investigating a few teams suspected of breaking the rules and, therefore, might be implementing some kind of penalty! So, stay on the edge of those seats because anything could happen next!
