What do you do if a pet gets ill?
If your pet is ill, your pet will not be able to fight in the Battledome and will become very unhappy, you can check your pets' mood on the QuickRef page. If your pet becomes unhappy it can change color to blue or red, so that's definitely not a good thing! Therefore you must ensure to keep your pets happy. This means that leaving your pet ill is definitely not an option. Your only option will be to make cure your pets.
How to cure your pet:
There are a few ways to cure your pet, some are cheap, others pricy, some are instant, others could take a while. All the options will be discussed below, including their pro's and con's.
The Healing Springs
The cheapest option to cure your pet is most definitely visiting the Water Faerie at her Healing Springs in Faerieland. There is the possibility that the Water Faerie will heal your pet, for free! But since there are a variety of possible spells the Water Faerie can cast, it might take a while before you get her to heal your pet.
You can try going to the Healing Springs every 30 minutes, you must ensure that your ill pet is your active pet, otherwise one of your other pets might get the healing spell. Below you can see a list of all possibly things that can happen when you visit the Healing Springs.
The Water Faerie says a few magical words and...
- All of your Neopets gain three hit points. Sorry, that was the best I could do :) - All of your Neopets gain seven hit points. I hope that helps! :) - All of your Neopets gain ten hit points. Wow! That was a good spell! :) - All of your Neopets gain fifteen hit points. I am getting better at this!! :) - Petname is fully healed!!! - Petname regains their hit points, and is not hungry any more!!! - All your Neopets have their health completely restored!!! - Healing Potion X appears in her hand. She hands it to you... 'Use this wisely!'. - Healing Potion II appears in her hand. She hands it to you... 'Use this wisely!'. - Healing Potion IX appears in her hand. She hands it to you... 'Use this wisely!'. - Juicy Elixir appears in her hand. She hands it to you... 'Use this wisely!'. - Healing Potion I appears in her hand. She hands it to you... 'Use this wisely!'. - Poison Snowball appears in her hand. She hands it to you... 'Use this wisely!'. |
Obviously you will need the Water Faerie to cast the spell that says 'Petname is fully healed!!!' or 'All your Neopets have their health completely restored!!!'. Any of the other spells will not get rid of that nasty disease your pet has.
All together this is a great way to get your pet healed if you are low on neopoints, it could however, take a while before your pet gets healed.
On Faerie Festival (September 20th) the Water Faerie will always say the following:
The Water Faerie says a few magical words and...
- In celebration of the Faerie Festival, all your Neopets have their health completely restored!!! |
This will heal all your pets from any disease they might have! Yay!
The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity
If you visit the Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity in Faerieland, there's a chance that the Grundo plushie will heal your pet of a disease.
The message you see will look like this:
Nothing seems to make a Neopet feel better than a soft little plushie, and Petname is no exception. She is looking better already.
This is a free activity that you can visit daily, but the odds of healing your pet this way are low.
Buying Medicines
If you just cannot wait to get your pet cured and you would like to cure it instantly, medicine are the best option, but most likely one of the most expensive options too.
There are three kinds of medicine you can choose from. One is the regular instant cure medicine from the Neopian Pharmacy. These medications will cure your pet instantly when you use them.
Second are the lost desert medicines from the Emergency Supplies shop. These medicines are cheaper than the ones from the Neopian Pharmacy, but they are also lower quality. This means that you might need to give your pet several of these medicines before your pet is actually cures. These medicines may or may not work, you never know. It could take 10 tries before a medicine works.
There is also a new medicine shop that has opened in Shenkuu, which is called Remarkable Restoratives. These cures are also less effective than the cures from the Neopian Pharmacy. These medicines may or may not work, you never know. It could take 10 tries before a medicine works.
