Games Master Challenge

What is the Games Master Challenge?
Every year in November a Blumaroo named Aristotle A. Avinroo (better known as Aaa) gives out game challenges to Neopians. The first time he has done so was in November 2006. On this page you can see all challenges, prizes and qualifying games. You will also see some tips on how to play the challenges and beat them. Click here to go to Games Master Challenge.

If you want to practice, SunnyNeo's Games Room lists all GMC and Daily Dare scores from previous years. This will give you an idea of which score you'll need to get to beat AAA.

  • When the flies are no longer at the top, pick a position where your tongue doesn't go all the way to the top of the screen. If it hits a flower you will be able to try catching a fly again faster when you miss a fly.

    • Umbrella: 1 point
    • Pie: 1 point

Managing Irrational Fears
Secret Challenge
Don't Forget to Bring Your Jacket

Scurry to avoid the scoops for a score of 3,600+ in Ice Cream Machine.

Tips:
  • The game code strawberryvanillachocolate gives you an extra life when typed before the start of a level. One use per game.
  • The yellow scoop with a cherry on top is worth 100 points and the blue fish scoop is worth 250 points. A large amount of your points will come from collecting these scoops, so try hard to collect them any time you see them.
  • Extra lives are important- the pink scoop with the heart on it will give you an extra life, so collect it whenever you can.
  • Collecting the red scoops causes the ice cream to slow down. This powerup will stack- the more you collect, the slower the ice cream will go. This can be helpful, but make sure not to slow things down too much, especially in later levels, or you're likely to get stuck behind walls of slow-moving ice cream that you can't escape from.
  • The purple scoop which has a small outline of a chia on it will cause your character to shrink down, making it easier for you to dodge ice cream. It's very useful to have, and this powerup also stacks, meaning your character will get continually smaller as you collect more of these purple scoops.
  • The green scoop causes the ice cream to speed up- you don't want this! You also don't want to collect the light blue scoop which has an outline of a chia on it- it will make you larger, and therefore it will be harder for you to dodge the ice cream. Both of these powerups will also stack.
  • If you collect the cherry scoop, the fish scoop, the strawberry bomb, the shield, or the extra life, it will cancel all of your stacked powerups, so be aware of this. The strawberry bomb is fairly useless, and the shield only lasts a short while, so you may not want to collect either of these two scoops if you're under the effects of good powerups.
  • Attempt to stay around the middle of the screen so that you don't get trapped against a wall.
  • Be careful not to right click with your mouse, as this will cause your game to automatically end!

Dungeon Dash

Theme Challenge
This Is Scary D:

Score 95+ in Ghost Bopper.
Score 275+ in Edna's Shadow.
Score 400+ in Mutant Graveyard of Doom II.

Tips for Ghost Bopper:
  • The numberskeys you'll have to use are those of the numberpad of your keyboard! If your keyboard doesn't have a numberpad (like many labtop keyboards) you can change the setings to letter keys by going to the 'setup' menu before the game starts.
  • Read the instructions on the screen when a new level starts carefully. You'll need to whack the Faellie ghost twice before it'll be gone, and whacking the skull will make you loose a life.
  • If after wacking a ghost, neopoints or a heart will show up, you'll have to whack those too. Neopoints will give you more points, the heart an extra life.
  • At level 4, the controls will be rotated! if you're fast and have the luck of getting a neopoint power-up, you'll be able to get the required score just before the rotation. Otherwise, if the rotation is giving you problems, rotating your keyboard in the same directing can be a great help (even though it might sound silly).
Tips for Edna's Shadow:
  • edmoretime: Gives you 25 seconds extra time. One use per game.
  • Kill all the baddies in each level. They are worth more points individually then the items.
  • When the rocks with glowing cracks on them begin to appear simply zap them, and there might be a 5 point apple core underneath.
Tips for Mutant Graveyard of Doom II:
  • The required items to get to the next level will be in the same location each time.
  • The required items and other spooky foods get you 10 points each.
  • Powerups are Pink Spooky Popcorn (increases speed) and Pink Apple Lantern (increases light).
  • Powerdowns are Almost Gummy Rat (Strawberry) (decreases speed) and Mummified Negg (decreases light).
  • To defeat your enemies, you can hit them with a gravestone, only the plain ones can be pushed (use spacebar).
  • Take your time, you get more points for killing the enemies than for collecting the items, so try to get all of them before you move on to the next level.

Mixing Things Up

Score 150+ in Sophie's Stew.
Score 325+ in Freaky Factory.
Score 1200+ in Scourge of the Lab Jellies.

Tips for Sophie's Stew:
  • Type hungrymeowclops for an extra life. One use per game.
  • Type the game code in pieces, first type hungry, then the next time you have time type meow, and then finally type clops. This will allow you to get an extra life without losing one.
  • Bounce the items off of the right side of your wand in order to make them go towards the right and into the cauldron.
  • You can use either the mouse or the arrow keys to move the wand. Using the mouse is much easier.
  • If you move the wand to the right as you bounce the items off of it, it will make the item go farther, allowing you to get them into the cauldron faster.
  • If you drop an item, you lose a life. However, if you drop an item right above the Meowclops, the Meowclops will eat it and you will not lose a life.
  • A Droolik will fly overhead and drop powerups from the top of the screen. Grab the green powerup for an extra life. Grab the blue one to increase the size of your wand. Avoid the red powerup, as it decreases your wand size.
  • If an item bounces off of the side of the cauldron, sit by the cauldron and let the item bounce back off of the right side of your wand. This should cause it to go into the cauldron.
  • As the game goes on, Sophie will throw the items more quickly, and you may have to juggle several items at once. Different items are worth different amounts of points, so if you have multiple items in the air and have to choose one to drop, drop the one with the lower point value. The point values are as follows:
    • Grape Gummy Rat: 5
    • Pile Of Dung: 5
    • Glaring Eye Wrap: 6
    • Brain Ice Cream: 6
    • Spooky Doughnut: 6
    • Twirly Fruit: 7
    • Octornapie Tentacle: 7
    • Red Scorchiopepper: 8
    • Hot Worm Hot Dog: 8
    • Tongue Wrap: 8
    • Spoc Spoc Grub: 9
    • WooWoo Grub: 10
    • Blue Fish Pop: 10
    • Mau Codestone: 12
    • Ghost Marshmallow: 15
Tips for Freaky Factory:
  • Try to fill up all the vats no matter which color you need next, it will improve your chances at the bonus for consecutive plushies.
  • Keep the Grundo from stealing your plushies by clicking on him.
  • Do your best to aim the paint blobs, overfilling vats and splashing are your enemies.
  • Click the soap blob when needed to clean up your waste.
  • The Angel blob fills up whichever vat it lands in, so aim carefully.
  • The Glowing blob upgrades all the plushies on the belt, this is a very good thing.
  • The Clock blob adds time, this is good.
  • The multicolored blob with electrons around it will fill all your vats, don't worry about aiming for this one.
  • When starting the game, try filling up the two vats you don't need for the first plushie before you fill up the needed color.
  • Once in a while, a paint blob with an angry face might appear. Don't click on this one, since it will only make your dirt meter go up.
Tip for Scourge of the Lab Jellies:
  • The game code boomshaketheroom creates 3 consecutive bombs. One use per game.

They Cast a Spell on Me

Show off your tile-connecting wizardry with a score of 50,000+ in Spellseeker.

Tips:
  • When using numbers, you must form chains that increase or decrease by the amount listed above the board. You start with 1, so a sample chain could be 3-2-1-2-1-2-3-2-3.
  • When using letters, you must spell words.
  • When using symbols, you form chains by clicking on adjacent tiles that have matching symbols.
  • It's easiest to play in numbers mode.
  • When you see any golden tiles, try to incorporate them into long chains. The longer the chain, the better your score. The gold tiles act as a bonus. Also try to include slime tiles in the chains, otherwise they will slowly work their way to the bottom.
  • Don't allow the slime tiles to reach the bottom. If that happens the game is over.
  • If there are too many slime tiles in later rounds, there is a vial next to the wizard. It will fill up with gold. Click this vial - only when it is full- and all the slime tiles will be removed from the screen. The vial refills itself everytime gold tiles are used up in chains. If the vial is full from one round, it will carry over into the next round, so there's no need to worry about it having to refill again.
  • At level 1, make a chain of 2700 points at first. This this is the highest score you can get without finishing the level. When the tiles refill with a gold tile, try to make a chain as long as possible with it. If there's no gold tile, restart and try again. In this way, you'll be able to get a lot of points during the first level. If there's more then one gold tile, try to connect those for even more points.
  • At the start of each level press shuffle a few times until one or more gold tiles appear. Don't worry about the slimey times and try to include them and the gold tiles in your chain.

Count at least 20 potatoes in Extreme Potato Counter while someone (either you or a friend) shouts out random numbers.

Tips:

  • Keep your eyes focussed on potatoes; Corn, carrots, and other vegetables start to fly on the screen in higher levels.

Down on the Farm

Score 150+ in Extreme Herder 2.
Score 225+ in Gadgadsgame.

Tips for Extreme Herder 2:
  • Learn to change direction fast and put the petpets in the paddock right away.
  • 2X powerup allows you to carry two petpets at once; Blue Gem freezes Balthazar; Orange Gem makes you go faster which usually makes it harder to control Samrin, we don't suggest getting these.
  • Collect the petpets nearest to Balthazar first so that he doesn't eat them. If there are several petpets near Balthazar, carry one a short distance away, use the space bar to drop it, and then go back and collect the other petpets that are near Balthazar.
  • You can't cross the puddle of water, so be careful not to get hung up on it- walk around it.
  • You can use petpets to lure Balthazar around by dropping them in strategic places.

Additional Challenge Help
For each challenge there are certain requirements that you must meet to beat the challenge, as you can see in the table further up the page. Although five challenges are given out daily, you may complete them at any time before the challenge's deadline, which this year is November 30th. For each challenge you complete you are eligible to receive a prize. Once you complete a challenge the little gray gift box will turn into a yellow gift box. Then you must click on it, a pop up will open and tell you the prize you have been awarded.

The challenges revolve around a group of selected qualifying games. Each year the list of games changes and is expanded. The odd number of games is due to the addition of several sponsor games. For some challenges, people from the USA will play a sponsor game whereas non-USA people will have a different, non-sponsor game.

This year there are 5 types of challenges.

You can leave zero neopoints as the wager. The username you enter does not have to accept your challenge for this to work.
Rating a Game:
Go to the bottom of the page of any qualifying game. There you will see a row of small round images. The image that you must click to send a challenge looks like the one below. After clicking the button, a pop-up window will appear. You must give the game a rating from 1-10 and then click to submit. You can also add additional comments if you wish. Note: There is a difference between rating a game and rating the difficulty of a game, look above to find out how to rate the difficulty of a game.

What are the prizes?
For each challenge completed, you can claim a corresponding prize (see table above). You will also receive a trophy depending on the number of challenges you complete at the end of Games Master Challenge. Because of the glitch with the World Class Gamer challenge, TNT decided that you only need 34 challenges to complete to get the top Trophy:

Heya, GMCers.

We know some of you have been unable to complete today's Random Challenge, 'World Class Gamer'. We've been looking into it, but there's not much time left since GMC ends tonight and we don't want anyone to miss out because of a glitch. So, to be safe...

- The event now only requires 34 challenges be completed, rather than 35, to earn the top trophy. Being unable to complete that challenge won't affect your trophy.

- Anyone who completed the challenge but couldn't collect the prize because of the glitch will hopefully be able to collect the prize some time tomorrow. We have a separate set of data that will likely confirm whether or not you did the necessary steps, so we'll go through it and mark the challenge complete for you manually. Then you can collect the prize as normal. To be clear, you must send score on 10 qualifying games from 10 different lands TODAY to be eligible. All 10 games must be played on the same day. If you haven't done this yet, you still have time to earn the prize. The challenge won't be marked as completed in your list because of the glitch, so double-check your games!

- Anyone who did complete the challenge glitch-free keeps the prize, of course!

That's it. Sorry for the inconvenience!
