Premium Perks

When you become a Premium member, there are a number of perks that will enhance game play. Those perks are described in detail below. The perks disappear once your premium membership expires.

No advertisements

Premium members can enjoy browsing Neopets without the distraction or annoyance of off-site and third-party advertisements. Regular users of Neopets will most typically notice these advertisements on the Neopets home page, as well as at the top of each page when browsing the site.

Monthly Neopoints

Each month, premium users are rewarded free neopoints. Each premium member receives 5,000 neopoints on the first of every month. These neopoints are automatically added to those on hand, not those in the bank.

Monthly Collectibles

Starting in January of 2013 (Y15 in Neopia), TNT began awarding monthly premium neocash collectible items. These collectibles are neocash items that essentially act as regular neocash items. However, they are only awarded to premium members.

They premium collectibles cannot be purchased through the NC mall and can only be obtained by non-premium members through gifting/trading via gift boxes. On the 15th of each month, each premium user will get a neomail from TNT alerting them to the awarding of their premium collectible, as shown below.

These collectibles are awarded to each premium user with an active membership at the time they are awarded. However, if you subscribe to premium membership on the 1st of July (for example), you will automatically be awarded the premium collectible that was awarded on June 15th; on July 15th, you will also be awarded that month's premium collectible with all other premium users.

You can see all past monthly collectibles by going to our Premium Monthly Collectibles Guide.

Should you choose to cancel premium membership, you will be allowed to keep any collectibles you were awarded during active membership. However, you will not continue to receive the collectibles when your membership expires.

Premium Avatar

Premium members of Neopets are also awarded with a space faerie avatar, as shown below. This avatar does not count towards the number of collected avatars.

Premium Space Faerie

This avatar is available to all Neopets Premium members.

Before the big changes in premium, it was only available to those who had successfully referred 4 people to sign up and pay for premium through the referral system.

This avatar shows up as a default avatar once you get it, and does not count towards your secret avatar count.

Tip: Look at SunnyNeo's Premium Guide for more information on Neopets Premium.

You will be able to use the premium space faerie avatar on the neoboards by selecting it on this page.

Premium Site Theme

The Premium Space Faerie site theme is available to all premium users. You can preview it on full screen here.

As a premium member, you will be able to change your site theme on this page to browse Neopets with the special theme. However, if you choose to terminate your premium membership, both the site theme and avatar will disappear when your membership expires.

For more information on the different site themes offered and how to obtain them, please visit our Site Theme guide.

Neopoint and Item Random Events

You know all those random events that occur as you roam around Neopia? Maybe Dr. Sloth and his "associates" show up and demand a portion of your hard-earned neopoints or the tooth faerie shows up to give you an avatar. Well, the good news for premium members is that there are premium-specific random events - and they're all good! The Space Faerie will often show up and award premium members with neopoints and items, as shown below.

Any premium member will be able to tell you that the Space Faerie is almost always in a good mood - her random events are much more frequent than those that regular users get. During the course of your premium membership, you should expect to get many of these delightful events - yay!

Lucky Space Faerie Charm

Another exciting feature of premium membership is the Lucky Space Faerie Charm. As a premium member, this charm will appear on your userlookup. At first, you might not think that it serves any purpose, but once you start playing games, you'll see just how convenient this charm really is. Randomly, when sending scores on Neopets games, the Lucky Space Faerie Charm will activate, and the result will be like the image.

The Space Faerie Charm activation is 100% random, although it typically occurs quite often. When activated, the charm will double any neopoints that you earned from the game (much like the Games Fortune Cookies from the NC Mall - only this is good for more than 24 hours)!

Battledome: Cosmic Dome

Another battledome-related feature of premium membership is a special dome only available to premium members - the Cosmic Dome.

Like any other dome, the Cosmic Dome has dome-specific challengers. These challengers are Jetsam Ace and the Giant Space Fungus.

One of the exciting features of the Cosmic Dome is the prize list, which contains nerkmids. For extensive information about the Cosmic Dome and its challengers, please visit our Battledome BETA guide. To see the list of prizes available, visit our Battledome BETA Prizes page.

According to the announcement below, premium members should also be getting extra special training days. So far these have not yet been activated.

Space Faerie Vending Machine

If you are a premium member you will be able to access the Space Faerie Vending Machine. This machine is not accessible by regular players. Below you can see what the pages look like upon visiting:

Space Faerie Vending Machine

Maybe it was possible...

You remember a story you heard when you were younger. It told of a very unassuming door at the end of a dark, winding corridor on the Virtupets Space Station. On the door are no signs or markings of any kind and no one had ever been able to enter, try as they might. No key could unlock the door, no weapons could knock it down, and no magic could undo that which had already been done. The room, as far as anyone knew, was destined to keep its secrets forever.

That is until one seemingly average afternoon... at least as average as life could get on a Space Station. A small token had been found. This token, while looking quite unimportant otherwise, emitted a glow of such immense beauty that no one had any doubt of it being quite special indeed. (Those few who did have doubts had surely spent too much time in zero gravity.) What was it for? Where did it come from? Surely it was worth something. As such, it was quite apparent that it should not, under any circumstances, be placed in someone's pocket to be forgotten about and later ruined in the wash.

It was quite by accident that anyone discovered the link between the token and the door. No one had been down the dark, winding corridor in ages, but out of sheer coincidence that was also the day the Evil Fuzzles made their way into the station.

Space Faerie Vending Machine

Yes, Evil Fuzzles! Of course the guards blame the shield operators and vice versa, but that's a whole different story.

In all the commotion, the one who had found the token was forced to venture down the corridor to save -- from certain doom, of course -- the Grundo Chef (who will never live down the fact that he screams more like a little girl than most little girls). After pummeling the Evil Fuzzles, our mini hero spotted the door and ventured near it out of plain ol' curiosity. The door that had once been so solid that nothing could pierce it was now quite transparent. After much internal deliberation over whether he'd be okay with it should he arrive on the other side of the door minus a few limbs or something, he decided to try his luck. He approached the door and passed through it easily.

You now stand before the same door....

Since you don't have a token, the door remains closed.

The Space Faerie Vending Machine will only open its doors to you, if you have a Mysterious Token in your inventory. These tokens are a rare prize to be won from the weekly Space Faerie Scratchcards. The tokens are non-trade, which means they cant be bought, sold or gifted.

He approached the door and passed through it easily.

You now stand before the same door....

The solid door becomes transparent before your eyes!

This is one of those tokens! And now you're in the same predicament. You could walk through... or you could run away screaming with your arms flailing, though at least they'd be intact. Up to you, of course. (Wouldn't it be nice if you knew the rest of the story before you decided? Probably, but that's not how we work here.)

If you enter the page with a token in your inventory, the doors will open, and you can enter the mysterious room.

Space Faerie Vending Machine

Once you pass through the door you feel as though you're falling and can barely let out a scream before you land with a big *thud*. You immediately decided to check all your limbs. They're still there, and you're still alive, so that's a plus.

With that out of the way, you survey your surroundings. You realize you're in a very, very small room with a very, very large machine. This machine reminds you of something, or someone, but you can't quite put your finger on it.

The strange machine glows and pulsates.

You're not sure whether it's just magic, or if it's about to explode. In any case, there's a slot for what you can only assume is the Mysterious Token. There's no way out of this room that you can find, so you might as well use the token. Not much else you can do, really.

Space Faerie Vending Machine

In the token goes, and here come the noises that sound like the machine is going to explode. "Just my luck," you think to yourself.

But just as you've resigned yourself to death by giant explosion, the machine quiets down and dispenses a mysterious package. (What else would a mysterious machine dispense?)

You're confused why it would make such a ruckus just to dispense a package, but you've learned not to question the workings of mysterious machines and quickly grab the package without hesitation. You aren't quite sure whether to open it at first, but curiosity takes over and you do. Inside the package you discover...

Eo Codestone

Fading Bottled Earth Faerie

Without warning, a flash of very bright, very blue light envelopes the room and you find yourself in the dark, winding corridor once again. The door itself is sealed tight and you begin to walk back to the more occupied areas of the Space Station, still in a bit of a daze.
---------------------

Now, after your ordeal is over of course, you remember the rest of the story...

Since the first token was found long ago, several others have cropped up, and those who bear the tokens return from the mysterious room slightly richer (and slightly shinier). The more popular theory is that these tokens will magically find their way into into the hands of those worthy of such prizes and that the Space Faerie herself created the machine. Regardless of why or how, you've just been one of the rare few to enter the mysterious room. Maybe you deserved it, or maybe you were just lucky. Either way, you have quite a story to tell your friends.

Of course the Space Faerie herself declines to comment when asked about the door, the token, or why she was nowhere to be found while the Space Station was being overrun by little fuzzballs brimming with evil.

Entering your token into the machine will always give you a combination of two prizes. Prizes include:

A random faded bottled faerie

A random brown codestone

A random dubloon

Premium Boons

Every two weeks there is a skirmish battle at the Battleground of the Obelisk. Users on the winning team get an avatar, a site theme and a choice to pick a boon (only if they won 10 or more battles). Boons are special site perks that can be used for a week. Premium members on the winning team get to pick a second boon, which is one out of two special Premium Boons. To read more about the skirmish battles visit SunnyNeo's Skirmish Battles guide. The Premium Boons are listed below.

Premium Boons

Full Pockets
The scratchcard hums in your hands and you feel luckier. This is not the Space Faerie's doing....

What it does: This boon will increase the amount of NP awarded from your Space Faerie Scratchcards. If you win an item from your scratchcard instead, you will also be awarded an additional prize of 1,000 NP. If you have more than one unscratched card, it will apply to all of them.

Premium Dreamium
You feel drawn to the Games Room, determined to leave richer than you arrived.

What it does: With this boon you will be able to send one extra game score in the Premium Featured Game. So instead of being able to send 3 scores you will be able to send 4. During Games Galore, you will also get one extra score (for a total of 6 scores).

Gallery Categories

Starting in August 2018, another premium perk was added. Premium users are able to have up to 30 different gallery categories instead of the normal 20 categories.

Extra Pet Slot

Premium members are allowed 1 more pet than non-premium users. When the perk first came out, it allowed users to have 5 pets instead of 4. At the time of writing this, it is up to 7 pets compared to non premium users only being allowed 6.

Premium Bar's Other Perks

The premium bar is a bar that is along the bottom of all your neopets pages. It has more perks that you can find more information on in our section: Premium Bar. These perks include the following:
  • Super Shop Wiz (SSW)
  • Featured Game
  • Dailies Shortcuts
  • Bankroll
  • Customisation Journal
  • Pet Species Change
