Quests
Every few days a new quest is released. A quest consists of one or more parts in which you can earn yourself special items. In total there were eight quests.
You can choose in which order you would like to try and finish these quests. If one quest is not working well for you, you can pause it and start on another one.
One of the quest steps was not working properly, causing people not to get awarded with the item they should have gotten. TNT sent out the neomail below.
Dear username, During the Festival of Neggs event, you completed a step in Quest #6 that should have granted you an "Edible Guide to Jelly World" item. Unfortunately, due to Meepits infesting our prize-awarding machinery, the item was not awarded properly. We've fixed the problem and now the item has been placed into your inventory! Hooray! Yours sincerely, The Neopets Team |
Once you get the neomail, you will find the following item in your inventory:

Part 1 | ||||
I'd really like to go on holiday after the Festival has ended, though even that is unlikely with how busy I am. I definitely won't be able to get away to do any of the scouting. Would you check out a few Neopian destinations in case I can get away for a quick trip? Also, make sure you bring me things to let me know why I should choose that location. Let's see... considering how busy I've been at the Festival, maybe it would be a nice change of pace to visit a place that is less populated, archaic even. I am also quite passionate about landscape painting. Perhaps there is a place that I can visit that will give me a little time away as well as let me enjoy some beautiful scenery. As for the rest of my possible destinations, I'm sure you can come up with a few good ideas... |
Go to Tyrannian Cave Painting and click on randomly on the paintings until the message shows up. | Tyrannian Landscape Painting Neohome |
||
Part 2 | ||||
That's quite a painting you've got there... it's for Kari, you say? I had no idea she was a patron of the arts. I have heard, however, that she's a rather sporty type. And what better place to enjoy a nice sporting event than on the beaches of Neopia. Just keep an eye out for those Turdles. Don't worry about the painting—I'll see to it that it's delivered. As for you, here's a souvenir to remind you of your time here during the remainder of your voyage! |

Whew! After a match like that last one, I sure could use something to eat. Care for a bite? I've got an extra Zeenana in my bag; you're welcome to it. I see not a fan, eh? Maybe you will enjoy some cheesy crackers instead. This Island food's okay, but it's nothing compared to the sweet ambrosia of my favourite land... oh well, even if the food's not so great here, the lovely views Mystery Island has to offer are certainly a selling point! |
Restock Altadorian Ambrosia at Exquisite Ambrosia. You may need to refresh the shop a few times before the item appears. |
Altadorian Ambrosia Food |
||
Part 4 | ||||
Ahh, I see you've discovered the greatest dish that Altador has to offer. 'Tis truly a delight for the taste buds—although, if I may be so frank, it does tend to grow tiresome after a few *burp* dozen servings too many. I've found, however, that after three servings of chocolate ice cream, I've usually forgotten all about the taste of Altadorian Ambrosia... |
Send in a score at Ice Cream Machine 3 times. You need to pass the Chocolate ice cream level all the three times. Type the code strawberryvanillachocolate at Ice Cream Machine for an extra life. |
Three Scoops of Chocolate Ice Cream Food |

As you might have imagined, I just absolutely love ice cream! To be honest with you, though, whenever I think about being trapped in that factory, it definitely makes me wish for a change of scenery... |
Buy a background at Mystical Surroundings in Qasala. Customise your pet with it, then return to the shop. | No item reward | ||
Part 6 | ||||
Picking up a souvenir to remind you of your time in Qasala, eh? Beats living with this sweltering heat every day, that's for sure. There's one good thing about the weather here, thoughalthough, if I may be so frank, it does tend to grow tiresome after a few *burp* dozen servings too many. I've found, getting a nice tan isn't too difficult. Laying out, however, can be awfully dull unless you've got something to keep you entertained... |
Buy the book Things To Do in Sakhmet at Sutek's Scrolls. Things To Do in Sakhmet |
Kings Key Special |
||
Part 7 | ||||
That book is wonderful if you are planning a holiday in Sakhmet! Kari will definitely want to pay us a visit. Hey, wait! This just fell out of the book. Hmm... that's most unusual. This isn't something that I would ordinarily sell in my shop. It appears to be some sort of key; I wonder what it's supposed to open? Most unusual indeed... |
Go to your inventory and click on the Kings Key. This is quite an unusual key. Perhaps you should examine it more closely! In the dropdown menu, choose Examine Key. Upon closer examination, you notice some very faint and worn symbols on the key that look familiar. Perhaps you should explore Neopia's lands to figure out what this key might unlock? Click on the symbols of Coltzan's Shrine until you get the next clue. You must click them in a certain order for the clue to appear, the hole doesn't count, don't click it! Try the following combination: Grinding - Hissing - Clicking - Knocking - Grinding - Hissing - Knocking A hidden door opens in the side of the shrine! Where could it lead? |
No item reward | ||
Part 8 | ||||
You have found the long-lost King's Key and discovered a place traversed by few. Choose your path wisely, brave Neopet. One wrong move and you could be banished to the beginning. Find the correct path, and you will enter a place that is known only by the most enlightened. |
Find your way through the caves. If you go in a wrong direction you are sent back 1 set of doors. Click the same door you clicked to advance previously, then the opposite of the one that sent you back and you will be able to move forward. Congratulations! You have discovered a mystical desert oasis hidden deep within Neopia. This will surely be the ideal destination for Kari's much deserved holiday. Please inform her of its beauty and tranquillity. You have done well. Your efforts will most certainly not go unrewarded. Go back to the Quest Booth. |

Part 9 | ||||
My, you have been on quite an adventure. It sounds like all of those other locations pale in comparison to this mystical desert oasis! Thank you! That is one less thing that I will have to think about myself. Before I forget, here is a reward for your efforts... |

Green Festival Negg Food |

Clue | Sollution | Prize | ||
Part 1 | ||||
The Tooth Faerie stopped by my booth yesterday, and we were exchanging recipes. I had just given her the recipe for my Speckled Negg Stew when we were rudely interrupted. She left without giving me her recipe, and I would very much like to make a batch of her Tooth Faerie Cupcakes, only now I don't have time to track her down. Would you go fetch the recipe for me? The Tooth Faerie was going on about all of the places that she had to visit after leaving the Festival, but I was so busy thinking about everything that I had to do, I tuned her out. I seem to remember her saying something about having to go to a place where she could see underwater but not have to go underwater, or something along those lines. Anyway, that's all I remember. Come back when you have the recipe! |
Go to Glass Bottom Boat Tours. On one of the pictures, there's a red and white item, click on the item. (some people claimed it to be a raft, others a float ring, as well as it has been claimed to appear in different pictures, so it might be different for everyone) Below is an example: |
Toy Glass Bottom Boat Toy |
||
Part 2 | ||||
Hi there! Warm day, huh? If you're looking for the Tooth Faerie, she was here earlier. Check out these pearly whites! *wink* As for where she was heading next... gee, I can't remember what she said now. Our conversation was kind of confusing; it seemed as though we were talking in circles. We just kept going 'round and 'round... it felt like we said the same thing four times. Anywho. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Here, take this toy; it will give you something to play with as you search for her. Good luck! |
Go to the Merry Go Round. You need to take a ride there 4 times, most likely you should let each of your Pets go once (or more if you have less than 4 pets). |

Part 3 | ||||
My goodness! You must really love the Merry Go Round! I've never seen such happy Neopets. Since you are one of my best customers, I think you deserve a special reward. Oh, you're looking for the Tooth Faerie? Well, after she gave me a brand-new toothbrush, she hurried off to find an expert on shells. She said she had discovered a strange new one and wanted to find out more about it. To be honest, it all sounded a bit wobbly to me. |
Go to the Collectable Sea Shells while having a jelly item in your inventory and a shell in your stamp album will help you getting the message. Refresh until the message you've gotten a Jelly Shell has appeared. |
Jelly Shell |
||
Part 4 | ||||
Oh no, not you too! Oh wait. I saw your sea shell and jelly collections and thought you had another so-called Jelly Shell like the one that the Tooth Faerie brought me! She left it here for me to investigate its origins, but frankly, I can't figure it out. Here, take it. Maybe you can figure out what it actually is. Be sure to put it in a very safe place; otherwise, you never know what could happen to it... |
Jelly Shell has been added to your Inventory...? You must click on the word 'Inventory.' |
No item reward | ||
Part 5 | ||||
You try to put the Jelly Shell in your Safety Deposit Box for safe-keeping, but a swarm of Petpets appears out of nowhere, grabs the Jelly Shell, and stampedes off in a cloud of green dust. Just what has the Tooth Faerie gotten you into?!? Maybe you had better visit the source of this mystery! |
Go to the Green Jelly and click on the green swirl next to the picture. It'll take you to a maze. Solve the maze by finding the Petpets in it. |
Trampled Jelly Shell Jelly Food |
||
Part 6 | ||||
You see the Petpets scampering off and find the Jelly Shell on the ground, a little worse for wear. It looks like it was trampled during all of the running around. Perhaps someone around here knows what's going on? |
Go to the Jelly Foods and restock an Edible Guide to Jelly World. This item is currently glitched and won't show up in your inventory, but according to Editorial 437 it will be rewarded later. |

Let me give you some advice: Never offer to clean the teeth of anyone working in a Jelly Lab who can't control his experiments. Now, why were you after me again? Oh, of course, the cupcake recipe! Here, let me write it down for you so you can take it back to Kari. Pardon me, but now I must get back to work! |

There you are! Please tell me you found the Tooth Faerie. You did? Good, now I can finally make those cupcakes. Where did you finally manage to track her down, by the way? Jelly World? No really, where? Fine, you don't have to tell me. Anyway, here is your reward, as promised. |

Jhudora just sent a note via her Bartamus, demanding one of my special Neggs, and that vile Petpet almost bit me! Still, it's quite clever how she has him trained to deliver messages. Maybe I should get my own Petpet to help me out... but this Negg order won't fill itself, and Jhudora doesn't like to be kept waiting. Could you go find me a Petpet? OK, I know exactly what I want. I need a Petpet that can get around the Festival easily, so it has to be agile. And sometimes I work until all hours, so make sure he can still be helpful when it's dark. One more thing: make sure he doesn't make too much of a mess. I have enough to worry about around here without having to clean up goo. |
Go to Spooky Petpets. | Bag of Slymook Food Food |
||
Part 2 | ||||
Hmmm, from your description, it sounds like Kari is looking for a glowing Slymook. They make wonderful Petpets once they are trained, which is maybe why they are so very rare. I don't often have them in stock, but maybe you will have good luck finding a wild one in the Haunted Woods. You could try catching one. Here, take this food. It might help. |
Click around in the Haunted Woods including Neovia and Deserted Fairgrounds and visit your Inventory. Visit the Halloween Paint Brushes last. If you have trouble with this step, try our Map Links page, visit everything on the list, then the Paint Brushes last. If you still have trouble, play a game of Fetch!, then visit all the links on the list and then the paint brush page. Eventually you'll get the following message: "You spot a wild glowing Slymook, but it scampers back into the woods before you can catch it. Its trail of slime appears to be leading here!" Clicking on 'here' will bring you to a map of the Haunted Woods where you have to search for a green blob, the Glowing Slymook. If you can't find him, press the 'keep looking button' to refresh the map. Catching the Glowing Slymook requires a lot of patience, you'll get a message he has gone away again for quite a few times. You have to catch 5 in a row to move on. We've put together a list of all possible known Slymook locations. If you are still having trouble then you can check out this page: Slymook Specific Map Locations, for where to find it on each different map. |

You finally manage to grab one for more than a few seconds. You had better hang on! As you travel through the Haunted Woods on your way back to the Festival, you stumble across a book lying on the ground. As you reach down to pick it up, the Slymook wiggles out of your grasp. You see him scamper off, heading for the Deserted Fairground. That's no place for a Petpet. It can be dangerous with all of those custard pies flying around. You'd better follow him. |
Play Carnival of Terror and send in a score of at least 300. Check our Carnival Of Terror Guide for game tips. |

It will be fun to watch you tromp through the woods trying to catch him. |

You seemed like a smart Neopian. The first ingredient I'll need is a delectable fruit that can only be found in one place. You know, it's true what they say about the enlightened farming methods of King Hagan's subjects. They sure put their wisdom to good use! I don't have time to go over the rest of the ingredients, but I am sure you will figure it out along the way. |

Win a Gooey Snot Cheese and a Bubbling Blueberry Cheese from Cheeseroller, by finishing under one minute. Check out our Cheeseroller guide for more tips.
Once you've got the two cheeses, mix them together at the Mystery Island Cooking Pot You'll have to win the cheeses, if you buy them, you won't be able to go to the next plot step. You can win them by playing the game cheeseroller with these two specific cheeses. |
Bubbling Snot Cheese Food |
||
Part 3 | ||||
Those ingredients that you put in my cooking pot were rather... extreme. You got them in Meridell, you say? I guess that's no surprise; they've got some pretty radical ideas about food. I have to give them credit, though - that ratio they've come up with for making stew... I believe it's x minus four, multiplied by three, where x equals the number of your vegetable of choice? Brilliant! |
Play Extreme Potato Counter. Instead of filling in the right answer however, take the amount of potatoes you counted, subtract them by four, then multiply the number you've got times three. Fill in this answer instead. So if you got 8 potatoes, it's 8 - 4 = 4, 4 x 3 = 12, fill in 12 for an answer. |
Sack of Potatoes Food |
||
Part 4 | ||||
Whoa, duder! These ingredients you've got are pretty gnarly! I'm sure that they'll make a most righteous stew. If you really want to crank up the heat on your recipe, there's this one dude... uh, y'know... *tilts head and, shading eyes, glances toward the sky* ...anyway, yeah - find that guy. He's got a rockin' ingredient that'll spike your taste buds! But here, take these potatoes back to Kari. She will totally need them for her awesome stew! |
Go to Cellblock and click on Guard One - Galgarrath. You need to click in his left nostril exactly to get the item, it might take a few clicks. The guard's left nostril, this is on your right side since you are facing him. |
Citadel Stew Spice. Food |

Part 5 | ||||
So I see you have come for my infamous Stew Spice. The guards and I use it to help make the slop that they serve here in the dungeon edible.
