In Chapter 14 Xandra's true motives are finally revealed. She only used Brynn and Hanso to get her hands on both artefacts so it would amplify her magical powers.

She once worked for the Faeries and tried to convice them to get more involved with the affairs of Neopians. According to Xandra, the Faeries have all such great powers and only use it to make soup, paint Neopets or just sit around on their pretty clouds. So she felt she had to free Neopia from the "winged tyrants" and give them a true ruler: herself.

Xandra gives Brynn and Hanso one last chance to decide if they want to help her rebuild Neopia or to end up like Nox.

Brynn declines her offer and Hanso accepts the deal with Xandra.
