Brynn and Hanso are holding the artefact so that Xandra could recite the ritual, this is how Chapter 13 starts. Something went horribly wrong causing the artefact to explode, blasting our heroes apart from one another! Hanso is the first to awaken and to discover that he, Brynn and Xandra are the only Neopians who did not turn to stone in the immediate area.

A Shadow Wraith is about to attack Xandra and Hanso tries to forewarn her, but to our surprise (and Hanso's!) Xandra is able to destroy the Wraiths single-handedly in a display of raw power.

Xandra has now become the enemy, or so the scene suggests, as Faerieland smoulders in the background after it crashes into the Haunted Woods...
