Who is the Grumpy Old King?
In the medieval town of Meridell King Skarl, the Grumpy Old King, sits upon the throne in the Castle. Visitors beware, as King Skarl is really quite grumpy. You can try to make him laugh with a joke, but tell a bad joke and he really will get quite angry. Try to test your humor on King Skarl!

You are able to tell King Skarl 2 jokes a day. You can either fill out the boxes a second time, or if you want to save some time, you can just refresh on the page after you have told him your first joke. It will tell the same joke again and count for your second use. If you are lucky the results might be better the second time!
   


How To Play
Twice a day, you can try your luck at making the king laugh. You will see a page like the one shown below, with a number of options available to form both a question and an answer to tell your joke. For each space, you can choose a word, or you can choose to leave it blank.

Since you can only try to make King Skarl laugh twice a day, beyond the first two attempts, he will not tolerate another joke. It will show you all the options at first like normal, but when you submit your joke, he will tell you to leave.
 

"You've already told me a joke today! *Grumble, Grumble* Come back tomorrow or it's off with your head!" Whoa... I think he means business!

Prizes
If you succeed in making the king laugh, you will be rewarded with a prize! If it's merely a chuckle, the prize will be common Meridell food, generally not worth much. You can also get Neopoints. However, if you succeed in getting him to hysterics, there are some exclusive Grumpy Old King items that can be attained, in addition to the Neopoints he awards. These exclusive items are shown in the table below.  
   


Trophies
Though the daily is based on luck, there are nevertheless trophies available. To view the high scores table, you can click here. Trophies are awarded based on the score you receive for your joke (out of a possible total of 1000, though scores above 900 are extremely rare). Only scores over 750 count to be on the high score list. The only way to get 751 or more points is to make him laugh hysterically.
