Why this page?
Every year on April 1st The Neopets Team tries to pull everyone's leg by changing something to the site that is rather radical. For example in 2006 they told everyone they would have to start paying taxes for every page load. We decided to start making a log of TNT's April fools jokes, starting April 1st, 2007. From the years before 2007 we've tried to gather some information to give you insights in the older jokes.

In 2010, TNT came up with several smaller jokes

Joke #1: 3D Battledome

On the Neopets front page, the revamp of the battledome was announced. As an upcoming feature, you'd be able to fight in an all new, 3D battledome:



Clicking on the banner would bring you to a preview page of the all new 3D Battledome. Unfortunately, the preview video of the all the battledome has been guarded by a Meepit, so it would be best to only view it at your own safety!

On the video, one could see this amazing new 3D battle, where fighting was happening with Neopets plushies!

Joke #2: Prank Warehouse


In the Prank Warehouse, you were able to send your Neofriends a rather amusing prank. Hosted by Morton G. Firefly, a rather dashing Gelert, you could send your friends a prank that would affect their active neopet.



Types of pranks:

Ash

Hitting a Neopet with this Prank would cause them to look like they've turned into a pile of ash.

Morph

When hit with this prank, it would change the colour and species from the Neopet. A Christmas Ixi could suddenly be a Maraquan Mynci for example. Maraquan Mynci, Speckled Usul, Blue Ogrin and Rainbow Tuskaninny have been known to be changes that occur frequently.

Pie

Hitting someone with a Pie prank would make their Neopets face covered with a plate of pie. There are several colours of pie available, like Custard Pie, Mud pie, Mince Meat Pie, Blueberry Pie and Pizza Pie:




Snot

Hitting someone with a slime prank would make their Pet appear covered with some slime dripping from them.

When hit with a prank, it'd be possible to get a special item from it. At the moment, it's unsure wether this is random or not, or only affecting certain pranks.

So far, an I Love Pie Background has been known to be randomly given out when hit by a Pie prank.


When a Pet gets hit by a prank twice, the second prank will replace the first. So if your Pet became a Maraquan Mynci and it gets hit by a morph prank again, it'll change colour and species again and could become a Spotted Usul for example.

There also is an RE going on telling you to go to the Prank warehouse:


Watch out! you should be careful when using the Pound today. With the morph prank going on, Pets in the Pound might not look like what they seem to be and instead of that lovely Rainbow Tuskaninny, you could actually be getting something else.




Joke #3: Neoboard filters


As a smaller joke, TNT adjusted the filters on the Neoboards somewhat. When typing certain words, the filters would change those into different words. You could not see the words that were changed in your post yourself, only others could, so it would leave you wondering why everyone was telling you about the silly thing you typed.

So far, the following changes are known

Pai would be changed into Mud
Pi would be changed into Air
Pie would be changed into Danger
3.14 would be changed into Numbers
Ash would be changed into Bones
Tiny would be changed into Huge
Snot would be changed into Faerie dust
Slime would be changed into Twilight
Prank would be changed into Ignore
Topic would be changed into Toairc

It seems that quite a few of the filters items had a relation to the pranks from the Prank Warehouse you could play on Neofriends. Several other languages have been reported to have similar changes.

It should be noted that this filter change isn't something new. TNT has dome something similar on 'talk like a pirate day' and a while ago, the same happened with any words related to the Twillight book series. Twilight for example would be changed into 'My Little Pony'.


Joke #4: Facebook Faeries

In addition to the jokes on neopets, TNT also posted an april fools joke on Facebook. On Facebook TNT sometimes posts sneak peeks of images. On April fools day they posted one also:
