Below you can see an overview of all the different random event's you can receive while surfing around Neopia. This page is divided into different categories, so click on the category of your choice and random events with explanations will appear.

If you receive any random events that are not shown on this page, or if you have any extra information about the random events listed on this page please take a screenshot and save the source of the page, then contact us. Extra information could be for example, that you have a number of neopoints that got stolen from you outside the range listed on this page. Before you contact us, please make sure the random event is not listed in any of the other categories.



This guide has been archived and might no longer be maintained. These are all of the old random events, and most have been migrated in 2014 to the new Random Events system. Please see our new guide to view the latest information.


Lose Items & Neopoints

This category features random events that will either make your items vanish, or will make you lose some neopoints. This page does not show Winter or Tyrannian events that make you lose items or neopoints.



Ghosts:
There are quite a few random events in which ghosts can come and steal neopoints from you. Sometimes they are nice and put them in the Money Tree though. The event in which the take your money and put it in the Money Tree has a changing amount of neopoints. Our records tell us that this amount will be somewhere between 27 and 191 neopoints. Your amount of neopoints on hand can go negative after this random event, if you weren't carrying enough to pay the amount listed in the random event.

A Ghost cackles insanely and steals 40 Neopoints from you...

A Ghost takes 132 Neopoints from you and puts it on the money tree!



Biscuit:
If you receive the random event shown below, you will lose the amount of neopoints stated in the event. Our records tell us that this amount will be somewhere between 53 and 231 neopoints. In return you will get the biscuit/cookie featured in the image.

Oh look, a delicious biscuit is on the floor. You bend down to pick it up, and spin around - somebody has stolen 156 NP from you while you were distracted!



Bullies:
Unfortunately, not even Neopets is safe from bullies. In a random event they can come to you and take away part of your savings. Your amount of neopoints on hand can go negative after this random event, if you weren't carrying enough to pay the amount listed in the random event.

Something has happened!
Uh oh! Some mean-looking bullies approach you, hold you upside-down, and steal the 979 NP that falls out of your pockets!



Icy Skeletons:
If you get surrounded by Icy Skeletons, they will take away some of your money. Our records tell us that this amount will be somewhere between 33 and 136 neopoints. Your amount of neopoints on hand can go negative after this random event, if you weren't carrying enough to pay the amount listed in the random event.

Icy Skeletons surround you and steal 98 Neopoints!



King Skarl:
King Skarl of Meridell may come to you and ask you to pay for marrow tax. Even if you don't have any marrows, or if you're not even in Meridell! Our records tell us that this amount will be somewhere around 10% of your neopoints.

King Skarl appears and orders his guards to collect 308 Neopoints from you. Who knew there was such a thing as Marrow Tax?



The Bug Brothers:
If the Bug Brothers cross you, they will take some money from you. But luckily the Bug Brothers are very small, and they are not able to carry a lot of neopoints, so the amount they will be stealing is small. Our records tell us that this amount will be somewhere between 20 and 44 neopoints. Your amount of neopoints on hand can go negative after this random event, if you weren't carrying enough to pay the amount listed in the random event.

The Bug Brothers jump up and steal 23 Neopoints!!



Greedy Kadoatie:
If you are really unlucky you might run into a very noisy Kadoatie. You'll be forced to give it 5,000 neopoints, before you get a headache from the mewing. Your amount of neopoints on hand can go negative after this random event, if you weren't carrying enough to pay the amount listed in the random event. If you get this random event, you will get the Greedy Kadoatie as a Battledome Challenger.

The incessant mewing of a Mutant Kadoatie drives you completely mad, and you give its owner 5,000 Neopoints to take it away!



Tax Beast:
Did you know neopets has taxes? Well they do, and the Tax Beast may come collect them. If he visits you he will be taking 10% of the neopoints you are carrying (not from your bank). If you get this random event, you will get the Tax Beast as a Battledome Challenger. If the Tax Beast is in a bad mood, he will take 25% of what you are carrying.

Not been paying your bills eh? The Tax Beast arrives and takes 10% of your Neopoints away!

Not been paying your bills eh? The ANGRY Tax Beast arrives and takes 25% of your Neopoints away... because he is ANGRY.



Dr. Sloth:
An evil villain like Dr. Sloth is always making new plans to takeover Neopia. All these plans cost money however, in order to fund them, he might come to you, and take away 20% of the neopoints you are carrying (not from your bank).

Dr. Sloth has his "associates" take 20% of your Neopoints away to support his next Neopian invasion effort.



Sloth's Ray Gun:
Dr. Sloth isn't just a villain, he is also very frustrated because his plans to take over Neopia keep failing. That's why sometimes he might appear to you, and turn one of the items in your inventory into a 'Pile of Sludge'; to get rid of his frustration. This can be any of the items in your inventory, from the cheapest to the most expensive one. Which one is picked, is random.

SLOTH FIRES HIS RAY GUN AT YOU!!! Your Sausage Omelette is turned into a mound of sludge!



Pant Devil:
The Pant Devil isn't just known for his affection towards pants, he is also known for stealing items. This can be any of the items in your inventory, from the cheapest to the most expensive one. Which one is picked, is random. If you get this random event, you will get the Pant Devil as a Battledome Challenger.

The pant devil attacks!!! He steals 'Skeith Juice Cocktail'



Grundo Leader:
The Grundo Leader is not a nice guy, if he comes, he will steal one of your items. This can be any of the items in your inventory, from the cheapest to the most expensive one. Which one is picked, is random.

Shadow Usul:
The Shadow Usul is a very mysterious creature, so fast that nobody can really ever see it. That's why stealing one of your items is a piece of cake for the Shadow Usul. This can be any of the items in your inventory, from the cheapest to the most expensive one. Which one is picked, is random. If you get this random event, you will get the Shadow Usul as a Battledome Challenger.

What was that sound? Your Strawberry Jelly is nowhere to be seen! Who could have taken it?



Meuka:
If Meuka visits you, he will go after one of the food items in your inventory and turn it into a 'Snot Burger'. This can be any of the food in your inventory, from the cheapest to the most expensive one. Which one is picked, is random. If you're not carrying any food items, you will not get this event.

Something has happened!
Meuka slimes up and eats your 'Meat Lasagna', but the good news is that he left you a lovely lump of Snot!
