Job Description

We are currently looking for one or more font makers. This means people who can make original fonts using NeoHTML. We want creative people with an eye for detail, you also need to work well within a team and would need to regularly contribute to the SunnyNeo guild.

We are judging on the quality of your fonts. We understand that everyone has their own ideas as to what makes a good font and would appreciate original ideas that show off your creative side.

We are looking for someone who can produce fonts regularly. We are looking for someone who can make a font for an avatar once it comes out. We also have old fonts that could use some updating. We also would like to bring Pen Fonts to SunnyNeo, so preferably someone who can create pen fonts as well. On average, we'd like to see around three fonts a week. It is okay if you are busy a certain week. We just are not looking for someone who only has time to make something every 4-5 months. That's just not enough for this position.

Requirements

The person we are looking for must meet the following qualifications.

On average you are able to make at least three new fonts a week.
You are okay with the fact that your fonts will not have any credit directly to you on them in the coding or on the font. You will however be placed on the About us page as a font maker so you will still get credit due there.
You accept that when you make something for the site it will then become the site's and if you were to ever leave, the fonts you contributed would stay.
You plan on doing this job for quite a long time. We are not looking for people who will quit after a month. Please only apply if you're sure you will enjoy this job.
You are okay with us giving you some constructive criticism and maybe asking for some changes to be made if need be.

Preferences

Below you can see a list of our preferences. You do not need to meet these preferences, but it's a big bonus if you do. If you don't meet our preferences you can still apply, after all, they're preferences, not requirements.

You be out of high school, or 15/16 years or older.
You have Discord (preferred) or Skype.
You have quite a bit of experience, whether it be formal training or you have just been doing it for awhile.
You do not have a website with your own fonts on it. We would like the person to not have any ties to another Neopets website, other than SunnyNeo. Some exceptions still apply (hence why this is just a preference). For example, if you have your own petpage of custom fonts this is fine. If you create premades on your own petpage, this is also okay as long as you are still productive with SunnyNeo. If you would be willing to move your previously made fonts to SunnyNeo, this would be ideal.

Please read the note below. We will not take any applications into consideration without a portfolio.

Before you decide to apply for the position of font maker at SunnyNeo you MUST make a font portfolio. Your portfolio will show us an overview of the fonts you have made in the past. We have set up an example portfolio for you to use as your guideline. Click here to see the graphics portfolio. Be sure to read the example portfolio carefully as it will help you understand what we are looking for in a portfolio. You can use our example portfolio to make your own, or you can design one yourself. Be sure to stick to the rules in the portfolio example however. You are required to have a total of at least 10 font examples. We would prefer it if you could show as many things as possible. Think about showing both different kinds of fonts, and different kinds of styles that you can do. The more you show us, the more we can be convinced of your talent. Be sure to have your font coded in the profile so we know you are able to code the font and not just obtaining a screenshot.

Please work on making a good, solid portfolio before applying. Your portfolio will put the most weight in your application, so make sure its 100% done when you send in your application form. Don't worry if it takes longer than a day for you to make. We don't expect the best entries to be in tomorrow.
