What is Grave Danger?
On November 8th, 2013 Neopets released Grave Danger. Grave Danger is a daily where you can chose a petpet to enter the catacombs in hopes of uncovering treasure. Be careful, however, as your petpet may end up stuck in the catacombs for hours on end. There is also an NC items feature to this daily that you can find information on below: NC Items.
Since this is a site feature that gives out neopoint rewards and prizes, you may not visit the catacombs on your side accounts. For more information look at our side accounts guide.
Choose A Petpet Wisely
Since your pet is off adventuring in the catacombs, you cannot take it to the Petpet Laboratory or remove the petpet from your pet. Also, the pet that the petpet is attached to will also be unable to trade or be abandoned at the pound.

Your Petpet Is Safe
TNT has stated in their editorial that no harm will come to your petpet if you choose to send it on an adventure through the graveyard. All petpets will eventually return.

So, we have a new daily and it's one aimed at Petpets! That's totally awesome, but I have a question. The news for it seemed to imply that Petpets might not come back, which we've seen before (like the Petpet Lab Ray and Turmy). This is obviously a bit of a concern for Neopians who either have expensive Petpets or, like me, super old ones with no intention of ever detaching them. Is that really the case? Can you lose your Petpet going in the catacombs? Thanks for answering. ~kristykimmy
You can rest assured that your Petpets will eventually wander back, once they've danced with Ghost Meepits, chewed on cultists' robes, or any other crazy adventure they experienced down there. :)

Put Your Petpet in Grave Danger
All you have to do is chose which petpet to put in Grave Danger.

Once you click on a pet, there will be a blue box around it.
The equipment is for the NC Mall portion of this daily. You do not need to use the NC Mall item to participate in this event. Here you can find more info on the NC Mall part of this daily.
Inside the Catacombs
Just like the Catacombs when your pet was there, your petpet can be stuck exploring the catacombs for hours at a time.

You open the door and send your Petpet marching bravely down the stairs into the catacombs. Adventure awaits! You did remind your Petpet to bring back some treasure, didn't you?

The status your pet has is simply a comment on what your pet is doing, even refering to the Spooky Food Eating Contest catacombs step. This status changes every 10 minutes and does not actually cause any harm to your petpet.

If you go to your pets lookup or others, you will know that the petpet attached is in Grave Danger.
Finding Treasure
After your petpet is finished exploring the catacombs, it will come up with treasure.

NC Mall:
Grave Danger comes with a NC Mall part as well. You can give your Petpet some equipment to browse through the catacombs. With this equipment, the Petpet will not only bring back a regular prize, but a NC Mall item as well.
For this event, you can buy equipment for your petpets in the NC Mall for 125 NC each.

When you are chosing your pet you can click on the button Equipment. If you do not have any equipment items in your inventory, the following message will show up:
If you do have one or more equipment items in your inventory, the following message will show up and you can equip any of them to your Petpet.
Once you've equiped the item you want to use, the Equipment button will be checked off.
Just like when you have sent in your Petpet without any equipment, it will take sereval hours before the Petpet will come back with a prize. This time, it will bring you two prizes, a regular prize and an NC one.
Using NC Mall Equipment is not necessary to participate in this daily. However, all NC Mall prizes associated with the daily will not be available to those who do not have the item equipped.
