Neocash Freebies

On several occasions, often on special days like Halloween or Christmas or during special events, the NC Mall has been known to give out special free items. All users who can access the NC Mall pages are able to claim these items, whether they have been buying at the NC Mall in the past or not. Claiming these freebie items doesn't force you in any way to buy something at the NC Mall!


Claiming free NC Mall items on side accounts
In the past, items like goodie bags often gave out Neopoint items when opened. These were of course not allowed to be claimed on sides, because you could make a profit on selling these items. However, nowadays goodie bags usually give out a Neocash item which means you are allowed to claim those on your sides as well.
As a general rule it can be said that it's fine to claim a NC Mall freebie as long as it's only Neocash or a Neocash item (or an item that gives out only Neocash or Neocash items when opened). It's all right to claim free gift boxes on your side account as well. The moment Neopoints or Neopoint items are involved, you're not allowed to claim these items.

New accounts
To promote the NC Mall, all new users receive a special goodie. In the past, this was 150 Neocash, which you could spend on an item of your choice. Nowadays the NC Mall gives away a free mystery capsule, which gives you random items when opened.

New accounts
150 free NC	Almost a year after the NC Mall opening, Neopets away gave a free 150 Neocash for all accounts to redeem. This was later replaced by the NC Mall Welcome Gift.
NC Mall Welcome Gift	This replaced the 150 free Neocash. At the moment, it gives out a free mystery capsule. Mystery capsules give you random items when you open them.
150 free NC	The NC Mall Welcome Gift retired, and the 150 free NC replaced it again. You can also use this free NC on other Nickelodeon game sites, such as Monkey Quest and Petpet Park. There is it called Nick Cash

If you want to get your free NC gift, you need to go to the NC Mall. At the top of the page, as indicated in the screenshot below, you should see an option to 'Claim your FREE NC Gift'.



When you click on 'Claim your FREE NC Gift' the NC Mall will start to process your request. After a few seconds you will be brought to a new screen that shows you that you have received your gift. You will then find it in your inventory, ready for you to open.




NC Mall Goodie bags
At special days, like Halloween, Valentines day and of course the NC Mall's birthday, the NC Mall gives away free Neocash Goodie Bags or items that are similar to a Goodie Bag, like the Sparkling Holiday Stocking. When the NC Mall gives out such a free item, you will find it at the front page in the NC Mall for a certain period.

Sometimes the Goodie Bags 'restock' just like in normal Neopets shops and it can take a while refreshing before you are able to see them. Once the item appears, it says it is 'Free' beneath it and you can claim it by clicking on it. In the image below you can see an example.

NC Mall Birthday Goodie Bag	Given out on the NC Mall's first birthday (released in July 2008). Opening it gave out two Neopoints items and one random Neocash item.
Halloween Goodie Bag Halloween Goodie Bag Halloween Goodie Bag	Released for Halloween 2008. They gave out two Spooky Food Neopoint items for each bag and a random Hallloween themed Neocash item if you opened all three of them. Read our Halloween Goodie Bags guide for more information.
Sparkling Holiday Stocking	Released for Christmas 2008. It gave out two Neopoint items like Books and Foods and a Neocash Modern Sculpture Holiday Hat.
Valentines Goodie Box	Released for Valentine's day 2009. It only gave out Neopoint items, no Neocash ones. It had a chance of giving out 'A Mysterious Valentines Card', which can be used to unlock the the Valentine's Day Site Theme.
Pink Toy Negg Green Toy Negg Pink and Green Swirl Toy Negg	Released for Easter 2009. They gave out two Spring themed Neopoint items like Foods, Books and Neggs. When opening all three toy neggs you were able to receive a Neocash item called Negg Head Bonk. However, this was random and not everyone received it. Silver NC Mall Second Birthday Goodie Bag	Released for the NC Mall's second birthday (released in July 2009). It gave out two Neopoint items like Foods and Books.
Red NC Mall Second Birthday Goodie Bag	Released for the NC Mall's second birthday (released in July 2009). It gave out the Neocash Number 2 Balloon.
Creepy Spyder Coffin Goodie Bag	Released for Halloween 2009. When opened it gave out one random Neopoint halloween themed item, like Spooky Food.
Korbats in the Meowclops Goodie Bag	Released for Halloween 2009. It gave out the Neocash Sparkling Jack-o-Lantern, Neocash Candy Corn Cupcake and a NC Mall discount code, which would give you a 150 NC discount when buying over 1000 NC.
Holiday Goodie Bag	Released for Christmas 2009. It gave out the Neocash Giant Gift Boxes.
Golden Heart Valentine Goodie Bag	Released for Valentine's day 2010. It gave out the Neocash Valentine Newsboy Hat.
Green NC Mall Third Birthday Goodie Bag	Released for the NC Mall's third birthday (released in July 2010). It gave out the Neocash NC Mall Third Birthday Pinata.
Elite NC Mall Third Birthday Goodie Bag	Released for the NC Mall's third birthday. Only available for users who had acces to the Elite Boutique (open to accounts over four years old). It gave out the neocash Faellie Birthday Bag Surprise.
NC Mall Third Birthday Goodie Bag	Released for the NC Mall's third birthday (released in July 2010). It gave out the Neocash Balloon Sculpture Hat and a 150 NC discount code when buying over 1000 NC.

Free Neocash items
For most free items, you needed to collect and open the free NC Goodie Bags in order to obtain the free NC item. But, there are also free Neocash items that are given away during site events, like Springtime Celebration for instance. Free NC items were unique items, that were made especially for the site event. They were not sold in the NC Mall.

Free Giftboxes
Free gift boxes are the latest addition to the free items that have been given out at the NC Mall. They fill in the gap for those users who cannot buy Neocash Cards and who are therefore not able to trade or gift away Neocash items. This changed when these gift boxes were given out. Like Goodie Bags, the free Gift Boxes appear at the front page of the NC mall, where you can claim them by clicking on them.

Green Candy Striped Gift Box	This was given out at Christmas 2009.
Spring Gift Box	This was given out at Easter 2010.

Free neocash
It's not only free items and gift boxes that you can receive. On special days and during events, you may also get free Neocash as a reward for participating.

Free neocash
50 NC	This was given out during Halloween 2008. After collecting all six Meowclops Trick or Treat Bags, users were rewarded with 50NC as an extra free gift.
50 NC	This was given out through the Advent Calander at December 19th 2008, together with 2 Neopoints items: Gnawed Gingerbread Grundo Oranament and Gingerbread Background and 873 Neopoints.
50 NC 100 NC 150 NC	This was given out as one of the prizes for the Daily Dare 2009. Depending on wether you got a gold, silver or bronze trophy, you were awarded 150, 100 or 50 NC.
50 NC	This was given away with the Springtime Celebration 2009, together with the Neocash Filigree Carousel Negg.
Between 25 and 200 NC	This was given out as one of the prizes for the Daily Dare 2010. Depending on which trohpy you got, you would recieve 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150 or 200 NC.
150 NC	This was given out for entering your pet at the Style Showdown in July 2009
150 NC	At Petpet Park there is also an NC Mall. At July 29th 2010 this mall celebrated it's first birthday and a Mall 1st Birthday Goodie Bag was given out. Opening this bag would give you 150 NC which was also usable on Neopets. You were also able to claim this goodie bag and its 150 NC on side accounts.
150 NC	The Nickelodeon game Monkey Quest also uses NC (or NickCash, as they call it) as it currency. It gave out 150 free NC for it's players as a special offer during December 2011. You would get the free NC when logging into the side with your neopets account. If you redeemed this free NC on Monkey Quest, it would get credited to your NC total on Neopets as well, meaning you could either spend it on Monkey Quest or Neopets (or Petpet park). You were also able to claim this free NC on side accounts.
100 NC	This was given out for signing up with a team for the Altador Cup VII in May/June 2012. If you participated in the related NC Event you were allowed to sign-up on a side account as well and keep the free 100 NC.
150 NC	This was given out for signing up with a team for the Altador Cup VIII in May/June 2013.

Qasalan Expellibox
The Qasalan Expellibox is a luck or chance game that can be played once a day. The goal of it it to get a scarab as far out of Qasala as possible.

When you win the top prize and the scarab reaches Kreludor, you'll be rewarded 150 free neocash!

Other prizes that can be won are amounts of neopoints varying from 100 tot 2,000 NP and several cheap items, mostly food. To find out more about the Qasalan Expellibox, you can have a look at our Qasalan Expellibox guide.


Monkey Quest
Not only has the game Monkey Quest given out free Neocash (or Nickcash) in the past, it is also possible to earn free NC by leveling up though this game.



For each level you reach after level 2, you will be awarded 5 NC. However, there are "special" levels you can achieve which will award more NC. These levels are notably 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 etc. (any level that is a multiple of 5) You will be awarded the amount of NC for the level you have reached. For example, at level 50, you will be awarded 50 NC.

It is also possible to earn NC by referring other players to Monkey Quest. Users with or without existing Neopets/Petpet Park accounts can be referred. Both parties (the person referred and the person who did the referring) will get to choose from a selection of different prizes that includes an NC choice which may vary in amount from 50-100NC.
