Team Interviews

To really get into the Altador Cup spirits we have asked one supporter of each team to do an interview with us. In this interview they were asked several questions about the famous cup. Here you can read the questions and their answers.

Altador Cup V

Altador

Altador   Interviewed Person: kenaji06

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I'm from Team Altador and my reason for joining is that I thought it would be cool to join a team bearing the cup's name but the reason I stayed is because I've made many friends from the TOGA boards and I've grown attached to them.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
I think our team's strengths are: unity, dedication, and hardwork. These are the things that hold our team together and it is what keeps us going for our goal.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
I think our weaknesses are that we don't have a really huge team and we don't have many players but we don't let this keep from from trying our hardest.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
I like the ACV so far. It's been very interesting, especially with how the scores are coming along. It seems that everyone is coming out of their comfort zone.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
Well, I didn't get to talk to other teams much, but I think everyone is doing their best to win the cup this year. Everyone seems so dedicated and very friendly and it's a good thing (:

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
I've only joined Altador and I've been rooting for them for 3 years already.

Which team do you think will win?
I honestly think that Brightvale has a huge shot at winning the cup. They've made a huge comeback. But it'd be nice if Altador did.

How are you showing support for your team?
Well, I play the games, of course. Plus, I help out in the TOGA boards and I even dressed my pet, Joeybearrr, with the Team Altador Jersey from the NC mall. And I also spiffed up my profile with Altador graphics from SN.

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
I would say Shootout Showdown because it's a fairly simple and quick game. It's the game I play mostly because it's really easy to send the score for the game. I'm Level 1 by the way. I'm trying to get past Level 8 this year.

Brightvale

Brightvale   Interviewed Person: mariandors23

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I'm on Team Brightvale! I decided to join this team because I prefer to be a part of a team that is smaller, which makes me feel like I can personally benefit my team more.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
In yooyuball, Brightvale has a lot of variety on the team. We have particularly strong players and particularly fast players, which makes the game much more manageable, and scoring points a lot easier! In the team sense, Brightvale seems to be very tight-knit and close.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
At the same time it's probably a downside that Brightvale is such a small team. When we do well, other users are shocked and start flooding TNT with emails like "How is this possible?!?!" or "The AC must be rigged this year!" But in fact, it's just our awesomeness.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
The ACV is definitely starting off with some unexpected results, but it's just as great as last year if not better!

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
There are definitely some teams that already have a head start and that can sometimes be intimidating (*clears throat* no names mentioned), but they had better watch out for Brightvale!

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
This is my fifth year participating in the AC. In ACI and ACII I had joined Team Haunted Woods. Year III I decided to switch it up with Team Brightvale. I was devastated to learn that Brightvale wasn't a part of ACIV, so I joined Lost Desert. And this year, I switched back to Brightvale.

Which team do you think will win?
At this point in time, it's definitely any team's game. But I think I know who's gonna win. ;p

How are you showing support for your team?
I'm showing my support by playing plenty games, inviting others to join up, and by cheering us on all the way!

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
Yooyuball is definitely my favorite game. It's the classic AC game! Haha... I'm only a beginner at the moment, but that's going to change soon.

Darigan Citadel

Darigan Citadel   Interviewed Person: horseloverpei

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
Darigan Citadel!! Although Reshar Collifey scares me a little, I joined because I love Dark, scary things and have a soft spot for things like that. The fans are great and I feel like I belong and it's fun to read board comments.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
Well, we always play our best, especially at Yooyu-ball. We share strategies and tips with each other, especially newbies to the team. have a huge fan-base with dedicated teams and never give up. We are a powerhouse team and are known to bounce back after a rough day, which is definitely true.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Although Slushie Slinger isn't our best game, we always do our best at it.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
Of, course. I love playing games (most of them) and love how competitive the teams and fans are. I enjoy reading board comments after a long day and reading the daily news. I'm surprised at how well the lower tiered teams are doing, and showing everyone that they really can be powerhouses and maybe even champions.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
Definitely, the lower tiered teams are doing extremely well and are surprising us all. Especially Terror Mountain, who are leaving the opponents buried in the snow. Team Kreludor are surprisingly fighting hard, along with Team Virtupets. The higher tiered teams are definitely playing hard and not giving up just yet. Especially Lost Desert, who are determined to finally win the cup. I suggest to all the higher teams, to go out and get rear-view head mirrors, as the lower-tiered teams may just sneak up on the higher teams and maybe win the cup.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
I have participated in the AC for 4 years. I supported Terror Mountain in my first year and Faerieland in my second year, on an old account. For the past 2 years I have supported Darigan Citadel and will continue to do so for the years to come.

Which team do you think will win?
I have this strong feeling that anyone one of the lower teams could surprisling win the cup. I also have a feeling that Lost Desert will finally win Gold, or Shenkuu.

How are you showing support for your team?
I've been playing hard everyday, at least 10 times or more for every game each day. I've been attending the games with my 2 Darigan Techos and having also been watching the other teams closely. I've also customized them to show my and their support to the team. Ayrtek is dying to meet Shaye and even named her soon to be petpet after him. Crazy, Right?

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
My favourite ACV game is Yooyu-Ball, I love to score!! My rank is currently Stage 1, as I was away for 2 days and couldn't play. I'm hoping to get to Rank 5 or higher, to beat my Rank of 4 last year.

Faerieland

Faerieland   Interviewed Person: zombiesrock1991

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
Faerieland. Originally I joined for Delma, the Faerie Zafara, but I keep coming back for all of the friends I make.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
We're pretty good at sidegames and alot of us our YYB'ers too. When needed we can be really focused and determined. We are great at working together too.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Sometimes on the boards we do tend to talk a bit too much, but usually if someone says something they get right back to playing. Being smaller we don't do so well against facing the larger teams in YYB, so we focus on sidegames and we also can't spread our focuses out too much over all of the games. We mainly have to dedicate to one or two games daily in order to do well.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
Well I like the achievements and he new format for the NC Challenge is nice.. Though I wish they gave out nicer prizes -_- The redrawn art for Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise rather creeps me out too.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
Most of the teams we've faced have been pretty nice. Of course every team have those annoying bashers. We even have one or two ourselves, it's a bit hard to avoid really. Usually we get a ton of other players poking in our boards just to wish us goodluck or chat for a bit.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
Faerieland, Faerieland and Faerieland. They've always been my team in the past and always shall be. Oh and I've been playing for 5 years now.

Which team do you think will win?
I can't really say for sure, but everyone else is voting for LD or DC. Or so I think? I really don't pay much attention to things like that ^^

How are you showing support for your team?
I play a ton everyday, often times I try to max out in games. Though actually I've only managed to completely max out three times (In YYB and SOSD). I make support graphics/art for my team, encourage others (or try to anyways), and run my own Support page and the offical chatgroup (FLUFF's) webbie. I always have the FLUFF guild too :3

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
Yooyuball would have to be my favorite along with Slushie Slinger. Though if you play too much of either you can go crazy.. Oh and I'm rank 19, aiming to get All star this year (twice point wise).

Haunted Woods

Haunted Woods   Interviewed Person: koggler

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I am on team Haunted Woods. Halloween has always been my favourite holiday. I am a huge fan of Halloween and Zombie Neopets -- it only seemed fitting that I join the Haunted Woods.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
I would like to think that our team's strength is goal scoring on Yooyuball. Zo Junior is small and fast, which really helps a lot. We have a lot of great supporters too!! Many of them have been with the team since the beginning!

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Probably the fact that the rest of the team are slow and not very good goal scorers. Wan Dirx, "Brains" Mortigan, and Krell Vitor are essential to the team, however you cannot count on them to score goals very fast! Fanetti, our goal keeper, is very small. It is easy for the opposing team to score if you aren't fast enough to move him to block the incoming Yooyu.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
I like the Altador Cup, however it becomes a bit redundant after the first week. I think that TNT should introduce more "mini" games in addition to MSN, SS, and SOSD.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
I kind of feel bad for Moltara. It is their first year in the AC, and they are suffering pretty badly! I would have thought that they would have been a little more popular!! Krawk Island, Lost Desert, and Darigan Citadel seem to have no problems at all!

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
I have always been a loyal supporter of the Haunted Woods. I would never dream of joining another team. I joined the Haunted Woods during the second AC. I missed the first AC as I was on vacation at the time.

Which team do you think will win?
I would like to see Kreludor win. However, it will most likely be the Lost Desert. But not before Darigan Citadel give them a run for their Neopoints!

How are you showing support for your team?
The usual stuff. Playing lots of games, using Haunted Woods themed avatars, banners, Sunnyneo pet lookups, and shop layouts, dressing my pets in Haunted Woods and AC paraphernalia.

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
My favourite AC game is Yooyuball, and SOSD. I am not a fan of SS, but am forcing myself to play it this year. I am currently Rank 7, but hope to make it to Rank 10 before the end of the tournament.

Kiko Lake

Kiko Lake   Interviewed Person: kikos4eva

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I'm on Kiko Lake. I've been with them every year except when they weren't in the cup. With my username, I guess it's the obvious choice. Plus, I love Kikos.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
We are small, focussed, dedicated and friendly. We believe in having fun while playing

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Being small in numbers, not many go on the boards so it is very slow.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
I think the achievements have added an extra interest in the competition. They have added incentive to play the side games, especially MSN and SlSl. With the 2 extra teams, the competition is quite long. Many players are busy at some point with exams, holidays, etc. The staff competition adds fun too.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
The other teams are all very friendly. The smaller teams tend to stick together - TWERPS give us a united front. The large-in-number teams appear to be hard-out but usually several players pop by our board to wish us luck.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
I have joined Kiko Lake every year except when they were not in the competition, then I joined Shenkuu. ACI I joined Darigan for the finals. Each year I have tried to better my rank - ACII rank 2, ACIII rank 7, ACIV rank 14.

Which team do you think will win?
I think Lost Desert may be able to pull out a win. I'd like to see either Lost Desert, Kreludor or Meridell win as they are good at each of the 4 games.

How are you showing support for your team?
I have customised my 4 Kiko pets with Kiko gear/backgrounds, and my siggy proudly states I am a Kiko Lake Supporter.

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
Favourite AC game, now there's a funny question. I'm not so good at YYB so tend to play side games. Last year I was addicted to SOSD!! But this year I started playing more SlSl for the achievements and ... the rest is history, a new addiction. Even tho' it takes a long time to play each game, I settle in with coffee, choc bikkies and can play 10 games in a row easily PLUS I still LOVE to play SOSD for a break from SlSl. My current rank is All-Star which I reached yesterday on Day 26 of the competition (June 19th) *SO HAPPY*

Krawk Island

Krawk Island   Interviewed Person: turtleking280

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I joined Krawk Island, because I've been with them for 3 years and I wanted to help them beat every teams common enemy - The winners curse.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
Our teams strengths lie in our inpenetrable goalkeeper, Garven Hale, and because of that, I've had many games where we win 10-0 or even more than that. But just because our goalie is wonderful, doesn't mean our offence can't do it's job either. Ealyn Hawkshanks can squeeze through tight openings for the goal.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Our teams main weakness is that our defence is lacky - not that it matters anyway with Garven - but he sometimes sees too much action because the defence cannot defend, and he ends up tired.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
My thoughts for ACV is that some of the lower tiered teams will make a comeback soon and get high expectations, but in round 2 will fall under the pressure they put on themselves. (That's right Kreludor, your sweep of us will bring your downfall).

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
I have high hopes for teams like Meridell and Kreludor, they seem to be starting well off. But since they're not used to the higher tiers play, they'll start to fumble.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
In the three years (including this one) I have played AC, I've always been a fan of Krawk island.

Which team do you think will win?
This year, I expect Lost Desert to win, since they were great last year and are off to a good start this year. Second place will go to Darigan Citadel, and third to KI.

How are you showing support for your team?
I am showing support for my team by playing Yooyu ball, and since we've lost every time so far, Slushie Slinger. On the neoboards, I have a slogan; "KI will defeat the winner's curse!"

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
My favorite ACV game is Yooyu ball, the only one I'm even decent at. My current rank is rank 1, but 7 more Yooyu ball wins will get me to rank 2.

Kreludor

Kreludor   Interviewed Person: slayryder

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I am Team Kreludor! Very underrated team - I scanned the boards for days and never saw anyone talking about them. Even searching for supporter graphics they were usually left out, or not as many as the others. I always go for the underdog; they usually have surprises around every corner. Most importantly - Purple and orange have a cosmic meaning for me (I even have a purple and orange gallery). Don't you think being from Space has its distinct advantages?

What do you think are your team's strengths?
Like I said, they're from SPACE! Alien technology and superior advancement in mind and body control. Being around Dr. Sloth in any capacity you're bound to pick up a few tricks. We have a few very quick players; Qlydae Wegg and Zenor Kevix are my best at stealing and making goals. They seem to have reflexes like lightning! Our biggest strength would be that were underestimated. This gives us the chance to do big things under the radar.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
We also have some weakness in the lack of commitment from the leadership of Derlyn Fonnet. She comes through in a pinch and can score when needed but overall lays the burden of the performance on the rest of the team. Frustration becomes an issue when were at the line, which I believe can be directly related to the weakness in the leadership. We find our leadership within the One Team attitude and press on towards VICTORY!

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
I have been playing around in Neopia for well over 8 years but this is my first Cup event, so I am green but I have to say this is an exciting and well though out event. The match-ups are fair and the enthusiasm is catching!

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
Each team has their unique strengths and weaknesses. There are a a couple players in particular that gave me some trouble namely Ilsa Ellits from Team Meridell that little Ixi is fierce! I began to become so annoyed as he became my shadow, running in circles trying to stage a shot - I almost just gave up. I guess being relentless pays off one way or another. Team Maraqua was a good challenge for us as well. Maybe there is something a lot deeper to the match up between Ocean and Space - the cosmic similarities make it particularly challenging. Tonie Plessix is a very strong goal keeper and tough to get around! Oten Runeu is not unlike Kayn Hireck of Team Meridell they both defend their position like none other! Maybe it's a Skieth thing - or maybe it's got something to do with the big belly...

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
Greenhorn here! First timer! Newcomer! Newbie, Newb, Tenderfoot, spring chicken, raw, wet behind the ears! Any way you slice it it's my first time playing the Altador Cup and I couldn't be having a better time with it!

Which team do you think will win?
I am supposed to say Kreludor of course! (I am not fond of the term "kreludorks" BTW) But in games like these you just never know! Darigan Citadel and the Lost Desert have made very strong cases this year but it all comes down to who chokes and who doesn't -Kreludor certainly has something prove in this category!

How are you showing support for your team?
I run through the streets waving flags and screaming "KRELUDOR, KRELUDOR, KRELUDOR!" Ok not really, but I do get pretty passionate with my friends and family when talking about the teams... All of my pets have dressed for the occasion, and so have my gallery, shop and user look up. There are so many talented graphic designers out there that have provided so many wonderful things to help us insane fanatics show our support! Thanks to you all!

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
My favorite game is Yooyu ball - hands down. I only wish I had more time to commit to my team and play hours a day. Realistically though I have work, two children of my own and temporarily no internet at my house. So my pathetic level 1 rank pales in comparison to my excitement and commitment to my mighty Kreludor team. Long live Purple & Orange!

Lost Desert

Lost Desert   Interviewed Person: baby2000amber

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
Lost Desert. I joined LD this year because I've always been extremely interested in the desert and sand. I live near the beach so it would only be logical that I go with my favorite sandy team.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
I definitely think that LD's strengths lie in both our YYB skills and ability to communicate with each other. Our team is probably one of the largest, but if you join us on a board you're welcomed right in and are kept motivated by all of the great members we have.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Our weaknesses... humm. Probably the fact that we tend to focus on YYB mostly. We are getting better at spreading our time playing games though so watch out!

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
This year's AC has been truly intense so far. We've played some of the best there are and are still able to stand up and play another day. I'm shocked at how well some of the lesser populated teams are doing this year as well!

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
All of the other teams we've played this year have been great. Of course we have fun telling the other we're gonna win this or do that, but at the end of the day we all come together to congratulate the other on a job well done.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
During the ACIII I joined Shenkuu, mainly because I couldn't decide between my love of LD and Meridell. The quiz that year picked my team for me, lol. Since then I've played for LD, making this year my third year playing.

Which team do you think will win?
If we keep playing the way we are now of course LD will win! If not us, I have good feelings about Kreludor.

How are you showing support for your team?
How am I not showing support is probably a better question. Currently I have 3 fonts dealing with LD, a lookup with a player made by one of my team mates, and even have a LD song page dedicated to desert support songs.

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
Honestly I don't have one. I DO however have a least favorite. I do not like Make Some Noise... not only hard on the hands, but the keys on my keyboard aren't fairing so well either, lol. Despite this, I've racked up some MSN games with my others points and am now Rank 3.

Maraqua

Maraqua   Interviewed Person: sweetie_purple16

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I'm on Maraqua and I joined because I joined last year and the sense of community it provided was simply exceptional. You can expect encouragement, praise, and just lots of positivity. They are such a diverse group of people that it's amazing.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
Maraqua is definitely good at Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, and Shootout Showdown.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
We are not amazing at Make Some Noise, I'll admit. We are working to improve upon it though, and every team can improve in some area, so Make Some Noise is ours.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
I think this AC has started off very unexpectedly. There are surprises everywhere! It's just wild! I suppose the powerhouses will be much more definite later on but as for the moment, my mind is quite blown. I hope Maraqua will do well, of course, but I'd love to see the smaller teams/weaker teams exceed expectations.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
I think the teams are just unpredictable this year. It's incredible! Brightvale has done exceptionally well, along with Meridell. And Shenkuu has been a little below the radar, but who knows? Maraqua has been faring okay, I think. We can totally pull this off. I believe we were just warming up.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
I have joined Faerieland in AC II, Haunted Woods in AC III, Maraqua in AC IV. I've participated for 3 years, but in AC II, I was a bit of a freeloader.

Which team do you think will win?
In all honesty? I really think Lost Desert has a great shot of winning. Kreludor is looking good too now, but I definitely wouldn't count Shenkuu out yet. It's just the beginning of the cup. Of course, I think Maraqua has a really good shot too because I truly believe that we are good at Yooyuball and that's a very important game.

How are you showing support for your team?
I customised my Lupe, and I am not a big fan of customizing. I also play my hardest, but I can only do so much due to school and finals coming up. I love the Altador Cup but school takes precedence.

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
Yooyuball, definitely. I really hate the side games. I guess I just prefer the mouse. I am Rank 4 currently, I wish I was higher, but like I said, school takes precedence.

Meridell

Meridell   Interviewed Person: _me_me_vero

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I am on team Meridell, of course =D. I joined because I was on another website at the time and saw an ad for the Altador Cup. That was the day I joined Neopets, and the day I joined Meridell. I didn't know what team to pick at the time and Neo had a quiz you could take to see what team fit you. Team Meridell was my result and I never left. Gotta love my team!

What do you think are your team's strengths?
Meridell's teams strength are definately the dedicated players who've been around for who knows how long or the ones who play with heart. They stick right by Meridell's side and it's because of them we win. We're all like a family trying to support each other to show we care not only about winning, but about each other. We never have bad days. We just have really great days and slow days.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Every team has a weakness and I think ours is that sometimes we work too hard. It's because of that we have our "slow days" where we lose and have to pick it right back up the next day. And slushies. We need help.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
I think this has been a great ACV so far! My favorite because the staff is included, I feel the competition has really heated up this year, and the fact that this is our best year yet. Also because my rank has skyrocketed from what my supposed best year was. xD

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
Yeah I do. Moltara looks good in magma. No surprises there I guess, they DO have the Magma Pool.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
Let's see, I've joined Meridell, Meridell, Meridell, and this year Meridell. I'm trying out all the teams. xD This will be my fourth Altador Cup.

Which team do you think will win?
In my honest opinion, Moltara. I mean c'mon, have you seen them work that magma? Yikes! Lol, while I do want Moltara to win (better yet Meridell ) I see Lost Desert winning this year. They are phenomenal this year. They practicaly live in 1st place!

How are you showing support for your team?
I'm showing support for my team by playing yooyuball all day everyday. I've also put up a layout especially for the AC to show my team, a little "Meridell Fanatic" banner, and I decorated my siggy. I also have my pets decked out with awesome Meridell backgrounds Beat THAT!

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
Yooyuball is my absolute favorite AC game. I can't stand SLSL and my computer doesn't like MSN . I like SHSH, but I prefer to throw yooyus at the other tea- I mean score goals. I'm currently Rank 10. Still workin on it.

Moltara

Moltara   Interviewed Person: lightnsoundshow

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I'm on Team Moltara and I joined because I have a fascination with underground worlds that have magma pools. Plus I thought I would get into the Magma Pool this way. (I'm supposed to get "well-versed in the ways of Moltara".) Of course, I feel differently now. Now I like the team for its members too; they are witty and friendly.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
We have tenacity like you'd never believe! Despite our current standings, we're still hitting the field day in and day out. Those of us on the boards everyday, we're definitely not freeloaders. N00bs too, are discouraged from joining us at this point but that just ups our chances. =) We also work hard in all areas, so that we'll perform equally well in anything from Yooyuball to Slushie Slinger.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Being quite new, we lack experience. Seeing other teams interact it's almost like watching relatives having a get-together...we're only just beginning to get to know each other and get to know the team. But of course, we catch on quick! We've come up with our acronyms such as COGS (Counting Our Game Scores) and GEARS (Greatness Evolves Around Red-Hot Sanity) and we're quite cooperative with each other when it comes to score-keeping.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
This is the first year I've really dedicated myself to a team. It might be the hard working, inspirational figures on our team or the newness of the world, I don't know, but there's something about this year that makes it special. We may not win the trophy, but we are definitely putting in a lot of effort.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
Other teams are very supportive of us. Some have even given us advice on how to improve (when we're not playing against them, of course!) There is competition but it's friendly. example: Me: *to Haunted Woods* Woods + Fire = Bigger Fire! >D HW: Woods + Fire = Angry Ghosts Me: *gulp* Did I offend you? *glances around nervously* HW: *evil grin* No, not at all. *Shivers* Okay, maybe that wasn't a good example...

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
I've never really participated in the AC. I've joined Maraqua once but only played one game a day. I've never felt the fiery passion for any world other than Moltara. *grins* Of course, there are many people on our team that were part of others like DC or HW. *looks at board*

Which team do you think will win?
I would love it if we won...but I honestly have no idea. According to the boards it will probably be the current fourth place team, whoever that is, but I'm hoping for a miracle for Moltara. =)

How are you showing support for your team?
I have a schedule. *flips imaginary notebook* Everyday, I get up and check the current standings and yesterday's results. If it's good, I jump around and sing. (Like today, we totally pwned Kiko Lake! La~!) If it's bad, I kind of mope and look at the boards. If there are people on with the standard jubjub and carrot smiley, then I go on those boards. If not, I'll make my own. And then I play MSN until my fingers are numb. (That never happens, for some reason.) Then I play Slushie Slinger which is alright for a couple of games until the stress of all those customers gets to me and I head to SOSD to get a few goals by the Chia. Finally, I finish that off by playing Yooyuball until night time. In between these games, I post my scores on the COGS or Marathon boards. I also chat with fellow Moltarians and spy on the other team. On bye days, I chat and play a few practice rounds of Yooyuball so I don't get rusty. I find my participation really does make a difference. =D

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
My favorite game is Yooyuball, followed closely by Make Some Noise. I normally use a laggy computer which is perfect for MSN because lightly tapping on the keys equates to a 6000+ score! Then furiously tapping on the keys equals 9000+ score! At times when I can get away with using a faster computer, Yooyuball is excellent fun. Since it gets a little boring after a while,I listen to music while I play. My current rank is three. =P It's not very high because I spend most of my time on the slow computer. In Yooyuball I usually play with Tulah Kisner, that fiery magma Acara, in a 3 to 1 formation. But I also alternate with 1 to 3 and 2 to 2, just to spice things up. For my team overall, I think they like Yooyuball the best and like Slushie Slinger the least. But I could be wrong. Our side games scores are pretty strong.

Mystery Island

Mystery Island   Interviewed Person: muffinmanswife

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
Mystery Island. This year I only joined it because of loyalty; I've been a team player for a few years in the past (more, before this account). But the first year I joined, I joined because it was the world I usually spent the most time in. And really, it looks so peaceful, who wouldn't want to play for a team with a beach?

What do you think are your team's strengths?
Dedication & Close teammates. I know most teams have boards, and so do we. I don't know alot about the other teams' boards, but I do know about ours, and our team is pretty close. Honestly, I'm too busy to go on there a lot, but when I do it's constant friendlyness and such. I know in yooyu ball there really isn't any such thing as a team since it's truelly a one person game, but still, the others are always encouraging you to do more. And then there's the dedication. I know some of our team mates have gone without much sleep for weeks. Really. Sure, we're kinda geeks about it, but we enjoy it, and we're dedicated.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Weaknesses...Well, we obviously aren't that great of a team. We usually don't get very far in the standings. I'm not really sure why we get so low, we try so hard. I guess the other teams just try harder and that's what gets us.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
Well, I know there are a lot of people who can't stand the other teams, but I'm glad this year hasn't been /too/ bad with the trash talking. Honestly, for a site like neopets, there sure are a lot of fights over the altador cup. But this year, it hasn't been too bad, and I'm thankful.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
I don't really talk to the other teams much, not because of a huge rivalry, but because I'm simply to busy. But I know on all teams there are jerks, but I think most of the players really are pretty nice people. Every day we have people from the oppisite team come to wish us luck on our boards, and that shows something.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
Mystery Island, the past two or three years. Before that, another team, but I can't remember which one. But ever since I chose Mystery Island, I've been with it.

Which team do you think will win?
I honestly can't say. Predictions are hard to make, even from this far on in the game. There are always supprises, and anything is possible.

How are you showing support for your team?
Well, I used to have a petpage with banners and a list of team members and such, but it got to be kinda hard to do with school work and work work, and other general things. But I do have my gallery, which I am quite proud of. It's not that big, but it shows my team spirit!

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
Favorite game? That depends on my mood. I really like all games except for Slushie Slinger. I can't stand it. Yooyu ball is fairly easy when you get into it. But MSN is easy and fast, same with ShoSho. I really like all three of those games. As for my rank, eh, it's kinda embarrasing. Like I've said, I'm kinda busy and don't get much time to play anymore. I'd rather just say it's low, mk? I don't want my teammates to know how inactive I've been lately. -hides under a rock- But hey, I've got real life things too.

Roo Island

Roo Island   Interviewed Person: theblackxparade

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
Roo Island, & Because I am very loyal to my fellow Rooligans - this is my fourth straight year playing for the team!

What do you think are your team's strengths?
We share a tROO sense of camaraderie (not to mention a giant selection of puns) and are known for our respectful and courteous nature towards other Altador Cup participants, no matter their team affiliation. Our sporting strength tends to lie in Make Some Noise, and in Youyooball - yeah, I said it!

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Well, I would be hard-pressed not to cite last years brutal 9th place loss as a weakness, however, I encourage my fellow Rooligans not to be discouraged by this loss, but to look at it as motivation. We can be the first to do it, we can break the double-win curse!

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
Well, for one thing, I'm glad it started a little earlier this year. The sooner the better! It's also very exciting to see Team Moltara in the mix.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
Yes! I'd like to be the first to applaud Brightvale & Meridell on their victories - no one knows the story of an underdog better than a Rooligan. But they'd better not think that means we'll go easy on them come game day!

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
NBR (Nothing But ROO)! This is my fourth year participating in the Cup, as well as my fourth year supporting Roo Island.

Which team do you think will win?
Why, we will, of course! What a silly question.

How are you showing support for your team?
A button on my userlookup (which actually stays there year-round), on my neoboard font/avatar, my pet's customization (jersey/background), my Facebook status (roo island ftw!) & my Twitter (same). Basically, short of getting a tattoo, I'm going all out!

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
I'd have to say that my favorite game is Make Some Noise, only because the Crazy Techo Fanatic cracks me up every time. My rank is currently only a 2, but climbing! I keep having to take small breaks to rub Icy Hot on my wrists...ah, good ole' MSN Carpal Tunnel. Gotta love the Altador Cup!

Shenkuu

Shenkuu   Interviewed Person: _guineapiggirl_

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I am on Team Shenkuu, because I was awed by their wise and regal statures. I also felt connected to them by their asian themed culture. This is not my first year participating in the cup, and I love the team and its fans. I've also gotten my sisters to play, as well.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
We have a very wide fanbase, and our players are strong and quick. The victories are from the very heart of our dedication and love for the games and the Cup. Even though we're off to a rocky start at the moment, I'm sure we'll pull up to another close win, at the very least.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Our team is slightly new, and not lacking in team supporters and spirit. However, our plays are inconsistent and our victories are usually short-lived as we grit our teeth against another tough opponent. We try our best, but sometimes even our best is another loss, and when we do win, it's close and is met with sighs of relief.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
Our current play is quite frank, embarrassing, but I'm confident in knowing that I'll try my hardest, and I'm really resisting the urge to get back to YYB and really scream playing Make Some Noise. We really need those wins, and I expect to see us topping the scoreboards soon. That is a promise. Our team has great sportsmanship, and together we will prevail.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
I think the plays this year are a real eye-opener, and I'm guessing that many of the teams low on the board are starting to get serious again. Some teams will be a tough challenge, and some will be "easier". Some of the results were surprising, but I think that previous years' winners will soon dominate. Team sportsmanship is actually pretty good, probably fueled by friendly competition.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
I have only been on Team Shenkuu; I am very loyal to my team. I've been in Team Shenkuu since they were accepted into the Cup, meaning I have been participating since ACII.

Which team do you think will win?
This is a tricky question, because the winners have all been different, I have noticed a trend, that would follow in Shenkuu's winning this year. However, trends are unreliable, and based on current results, I'd say I expect close matches between Lost Desert and Darigan Citadel. But all I can really say is only time will tell.

How are you showing support for your team?
I am showing support by my Shenkuu-themed premade userlookup, and my overwhelming (or so I think) enthusiasm for the Cup. All my pets are adorning the flag in their background or the AC background. My avatar is AC-themed, and my signature, as well, show my support for Shenkuu.

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
My favorite ACV game is the traditional Yooyuball. It's fast-paced, and I love when there's a good play, even if I don't automatically score. My AC rank is currently 1.

Terror Mountain

Terror Mountain   Interviewed Person: philagator3

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I'm a Terror of Terror Mountain. My reasons for joining the Mountaineers this year would have to be because of my loyalty to my friends and the friendly atmosphere between all of my fellow TM teammates.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
Disregarding our overall standings, my team's strengths are impeccable. The 17-0 Shootout Showdown record can be attributed to over a dozen dedicated Terrors maxing out every day. We have great organization, are friendly, and a little wee bit on the lack of sleep side. Side games are our speciality, sometimes we throw Yooyuball out the window and simply aim at slinging slushies, screaming really loud, and blasting everything we can past that Jelly Chia.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
Sadly it has to be our numbers. We can't do much if our opposition has a team that's twice our size.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
There's so much parity this year, it's something that's enjoyable to see. There are upsets daily, sweeps have been few and far between. It show's that no one can underestimate any their opponent.

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
Over the years, Terror Mountain has been a shy team, however we aren't afraid at throwing a few fists left and right. Rivalries do exist, however with one event it's definitely excelled. I'm talking about the trade of Elbin Kroe to Tyrannia for Evrem Guilako. Tyrannia has been our measuring stick, they're a team that has the same strengths as us, and the Round One match against them had tons of emotion.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
I have been a loyal Terror Mountain supporter since Altador Cup III, and will likely be one for quite some time!

Which team do you think will win?
Meridell, they're the underdog of the highest tier. They have a Jubjub goalie, which I find incredibly motivational. Who says you need hands to stop Yooyus from getting in!

How are you showing support for your team?
Well, last year I had a Neopet called ElbinKroy. I traded him off to some Tyrannian Supporter, and created a Tyrannian Scorchio called EvremGuilagoal, in support of Terror Mountain's newest member, Evrem Guilako. I also participate in Terror Mountains' Support Group, TOTM, and actively post on their boards. However my crowning joy would be writing articles for the Terror Mountain Times.

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
My favourite game this year would have to be Shootout Showdown, which would be unanimous with the rest of my Terror Mountain Teammates. I am currently at Rank 9, however I aim to be an All-Star by the end of the tournament.

Tyrannia

Tyrannia   Interviewed Person: hornswaggler_rocks

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
I'm on Tyrannia for the fifth year in a row. Originally I picked the team on whim. I didn't want to be on KI with my sister, so I just chose TY out of the blue. Now though, I'm an extremely loyal dino. Tyrannia is full of the best people a team could have. They're all friendly, supportive, and we never let a loss get us down for long. Tyrannia is definitely my one and only team.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
We're incredible at side games this year. Taking sweep after sweep against the powerhouses in SS, MSN and ShoSho has been incredible. Being the SS champions from previous years, I still think of it as our best game, but we've shown our power in MSN as well this year.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
As it's easy to tell by our record, we're not exactly the best at YYB. Give us a break, though! It's hard to get practice in; Tyrannia is so hot, we keep having to take slushie breaks!

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
One word: Unpredictable. ACV has had more surprises than a Wonderball. Powerhouses sinking to lower tiers, teams that were unheard of rising up to face the big ones...Who knows what the finals will be like? It's been an amazing Cup so far! Many upsets, many outstanding victories; like every other AC, it's difficult to tell who will go where. The sportsmanship seems quite a lot better than previous years. Less whining about losses, less bashing other teams. People finally seem to be understanding what the AC is all about!

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
Moltara; these guys are a great team, no matter what their score. They were built up from a mixture of every other team in the AC as well as newbies, and their dedication amazes me. Even if they don't go far this year, I think they'll be a force to be reckoned with in ACVI. ~~~ Virtupets; on a slightly more personal side, VP is my second favorite team in the AC. These guys have some of the best attitudes around. They're amazing fun to chat with and they're willing to take some time out of playing to do so. If TY weren't around, I'd be a Sloth-supporter in an instant. Keep rockin', VP!

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
Heh, got ahead of myself in the first question. x3 I've been on TY all five years of the Cup now. No plans on changing!

Which team do you think will win?
That is a VERY tough call. Even in the second round, it's hard to tell what could happen. Really, I don't think I can take a guess. LD has a very good chance, and they're extremely dedicated, but who knows what team might rise up and take their place?

How are you showing support for your team?
Playing when I can, of course. :3 If I don't have enough time or am just too worn out for some games, I try to encourage anyone on the boards. A short break to chat with someone can do a lot to boost motivation.

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
My favorite game has a lot to do with my rank; I play mainly MSN. I can rarely get sick of the game, but it doesn't get you far fast! I just got to rank 1. It's not much, but it's better than the Beginner I've been stuck with every other year! :3

Virtupets

Virtupets   Interviewed Person: digitaldreams107

What team are you on, and what was your reason for joining that team?
Virtupets. I joined them in the first Cup, mostly because I'm interested in space. I also considered Kreludor for that reason, but Virtupets also had robots and Sloth. My favorite TV show is Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which takes place on a space station, and the Virtupets logo reminded me of both a Klingon weapon, and the Klingon emblem. (Go look! The emblem even has a little "V" in the center.) So I chose them.

What do you think are your team's strengths?
We are a small team, and it makes it easier to organize. When we make a plan and focus on it, we do really well. Everyone on the team makes a difference. We have a guild that any VP player can join, and the leader is a great example. He motivates us, and has maxed yooyuball so many times that I'm surprised he still has fingers left. We're also a team that knows what it feels like to finish dead last. Because of that, every win is a huge celebration.

What do you think are your team's weaknesses?
We're a small team xD if even a few of our regular players can't be around on a certain day, our performance suffers. It's also tough for us to focus fully on all the games, so getting sweeps has been really hard. We sort of have to pick and choose what we want to win. For example, against LD in the first round, we sacrificed yooyuball in exchange for a chance at a sidesweep. It worked, but sometimes it doesn't, and it's a risk.

Do you have any thoughts on the ACV?
I think it was cool how TNT included achievements this year. I never could have forced myself through more than 10 games of Slushie Slinger without having some sort of incentive to do it. Im also happy that no teams were excluded. I kept worrying that I'd have to pick a new team because "Sloth decided the VP team's poor performance over the years was a good enough reason to turn the entire team into a pile of sludge and start again with a new roster in the AC VI."

Do you have any thoughts about the other teams?
I think that Elbin Kroe should go back to Terror Mountain next year. He's the cutest little Shoyru in the entire Cup, and his cuteness was increased tenfold when he was wearing a fuzzly little jacket. Tyrannia is still amazing in their sidegame skills, and they really surprised us when they drew against us in Yooyuball. Faerieland is playing really well compared to years past. 5 yyb wins and 7 SoSD wins? Pretty good. I'm still hoping Altador has a good year one of these Cups. If we pulled out of the bottom tier, anyone can. Same goes for Kiko Lake and especially Moltara. Haunted Woods is also coming back from a slow start. They're really a team to worry about right now, but it makes the Cup more interesting. Those are the teams I really feel dont get too much attention. I could go on about how great MD, LD, KD, etc are doing, but everyone knows they're good.

What teams have you joined in the past, and how many years have you participated in the AC?
I've participated in every Cup, and have always joined Virtupets. In the first Cup, VP was eliminated in the first round, so I joined Haunted Woods. If VP and KD weren't around, I would definitely join HW. I love that theme and their players.

Which team do you think will win?
Kreludor. Not just because I really like that team, but I think their finish from last year may motivate them to play harder than ever before in the finals. They've been a good solid team for a while.

How are you showing support for your team?
I play the games, that's how. Thats the best way to show support! I also try my best to encourage other players on my team, and invite VP players I've never seen before to come chat on the ViPZ chat board. I don't chat there very often, but it's always good to see some new faces hanging around while I'm lurking.

What is your favourite ACV Game & your ACV Rank?
My favorite game is yooyuball and as of today, Im Rank 17. I'll definitely be All-Star within the next few days though.
