To really get into the Altador Cup spirits we have asked one supporter of each team to do an interview with us. In this interview they were asked several questions about the famous cup. Here you can read the questions and their answers.

Brightvale

8, which is basically a Fire Yooyu on half a dozen pixie stix!
Which do you consider yourself more like: a Jelly Chia laughing at all those too serious, a Snow Yooyu chill and calm, a Slushie Slinger providing nourishment and encouragement to your teammates and others, a Techo Fanatic screaming cheers to keep your team motivated?
Definitely the Techo Fanatic. My actual playing might peter off as the Cup goes on (I do work a full time job, night shift, on top of my Neo life) but my enthusiasm and Brightvale loyalty are always top notch!
Who is your MVP on your team and why? (ie: On Altador, Lyvon is my favorite teammate, but Foltaggio scores most my goals, so Foltaggio would be my MVP)
My squishy guy Kayn Hireck! I always score the most goals with him. I won my first game by making one goal, then stealing the ball and running it against a wall until the time ran out! I've improved a lot since then! Also I love how all the other teams think he's annoying. It makes me giggle.
If the lands of Neopia who currently do not have a join-able team were to join the AC, would you abandon the team you play for every year for them or would you'd join if you don't have a favored team? If yes, which land would definitely have you signing up? (ie: Jelly World, Lutari Island, Neopia Central, Neovia, Qasala etc)
Nope. Brightvale for life! I won't even join Faerieland or Moltara, and I love both those lands too...I won't say I haven't thought about it, but I'd feel too guilty about leaving my Toasties. At least until we win one, at the very least.
If you were to take just one of the playable Yooyu's home as a Petpet, which one would it be?
Faerie Yooyu. They might be a royal pain-and-a-half to play Yooyuball with, but they sure are the prettiest to look at. And I think Fire and Mutant would cause too much damage to my house.
For the Yooyu's that aren't in the Yooyuball Game, which would you want to be added to the game and what would you think would be its ability? (ie: Water Yooyu leaving trail that causes following players to slide making stealing a little more difficult)
The new Plushie Yooyu. It would be easier to steal from the other team (especially useful after 7 or so goals when your opponents magically grow superpowers), but it can only be kicked short distances before it stops.
If one of your pets could be an actual player in the AC, who would it be and why? Would this affect which team you'd choose to play for?
The pet of mine who would most like to be a professional Yooyuball player is my Halloween Uni, Rocket, who lives on one of my side accounts. He is a Hauntie, and he wears his Haunted Woods Yooyuball outfit all year round! Before I joined Brightvale, I was on HW myself for two years, so, while I have history with them, that doesn't mean I'll go back to them. Still have mad love for my Haunties though (when they aren't playing against Brightvale, that is!)

Lawyerbot! Cos he plays for Brightvale. Also he's a robot. Robots are cool. And that's a fact, not just my opinion. Wall-E, Baymax, the Iron Giant, R2-D2, BB-8, Bender, Jenny...lots of cool people are robots!
What do you like to do around Neopia in the off-season, when the Altador Cup is not going on?
Customise my pets! I love doing pop culture themes, I have a whole page dedicated to just dressing up my pets themed to books, TV shows, movies, etc. It's one of my favourite projects! My other is working on my mythology-inspired story starring my Hissi and his friends, maybe someday I'll enter one of their adventures into the NT. And of course going on the Charter boards and brightening people's days with compliments and fun boards!
Darigan Citadel

a Snow Yooyu chill and calm but a clockwork yooyu while tallying the end of day's output of the team and dreaded for the result.
Who is your MVP on your team and why? (ie: On Altador, Lyvon is my favorite teammate, but Foltaggio scores most my goals, so Foltaggio would be my MVP)
Torn between Layton Vickles and Tandrak Shaye. Layton Vickles is a more serious guy but Tandrak Shaye has a lot of fans to begin with.
But winner in a very small percentage is Layton Vickles.

No, ever just like any other ever loyal Darigan Citadel hard core player. But if there is a new team I would like to have Neopian Central.

No need to ask, our team's yooyu - Darigan Yooyu.

Plushie Yooyu it's the newest one. Ability should be sticking/hugginh to the current player for three seconds unless you release it. It will shield it from the enemy's steal.

Corkstroll, yes it will affect but I never thought which team he belongs.

Faerieland

I consider myself to be a Slushie Slinger. I enjoy chatting with others about the accomplishments of Faerieland as well as myself. I also encourage others during their own game play, especially those that want to push themselves to new heights during the AC.
Who is your MVP on your team and why? (ie: On Altador, Lyvon is my favorite teammate, but Foltaggio scores most my goals, so Foltaggio would be my MVP)
My MVP would be Kakoni Worrill. I play using the 2x2 setup and heading from right to left. The team captain just happens to be the best positioned in order for me to score the most goals!

No, I would not abandon Faerieland. Of all the lands in Neopia, Faerieland has long been my favorite. I truly enjoy being on the team and chatting with fellow team members.

I think I would take the normal Yooyu home with me. Of all the playable Yooyus, it needs the least upkeep and would seem like the easiest to have as a companion.
For the Yooyu's that aren't in the Yooyuball Game, which would you want to be added to the game and what would you think would be its ability? (ie: Water Yooyu leaving trail that causes following players to slide making stealing a little more difficult)
I think that, of all the Yooyus, my second favorite would have to be Christmas. It would be awesome to see a Christmas Yooyu implemented in play! Its ability would of course have to be giving a random power-up to whoever handles it. Just like on receiving a wrapped gift on Christmas morning, you never know what you're going to get!

X (_xvcxcvx) would be the one to play in the AC. He's loved the Altador Cup with the passion of a true sports fanatic since I adopted him ten years ago. His team was initially Darigan Citadel but for the past eight years (since AC V), he's been a staunch Faerieland supporter right along with me.

My favorite player has to be SenorMalo. He's one of my top picks every year because he's he consistently gets high scores.
What do you like to do around Neopia in the off-season, when the Altador Cup is not going on?
When the Altador Cup is over, I enjoy chatting it up with my friends, role playing and writing. I like to customise my 'pets and creating characters for them.
Kiko Lake

I would say a 7. I've been working a lot lately, and I'm so tired that it hasn't set in that it's time again. I'm sure I'll be *bouncing* off the walls during the games.
Which do you consider yourself more like: a Jelly Chia laughing at all those too serious, a Snow Yooyu chill and calm, a Slushie Slinger providing nourishment and encouragement to your teammates and others, a Techo Fanatic screaming cheers to keep your team motivated?
I would say a Slushie Slinger because the nourishment and encouragement reminds me of my real life job, but the KLown community is so close-knit that it's hard to avoid encouraging each other anyway.

I'm not sure who my MAP is because I haven't played in two years, and even that year that I did play wasn't taken seriously due to college. If I remember correctly I scored my most goals with Holbie Pinnock in previous years!

Every year that I play, I say that I might consider a shake up and join a new team. And without fail, I never follow through. I have been with the team so long that my fellow KLowns feel like my neo-family. I wouldn't have that same community anywhere else. I can't see that sentiment changing for a new team.

The snow yooyu. Summer days can get hot, so playing with something as cool as snow would be a nice feeling. You get a chance to play and beat the heat at the same time.
For the Yooyu's that aren't in the Yooyuball Game, which would you want to be added to the game and what would you think would be its ability? (ie: Water Yooyu leaving trail that causes following players to slide making stealing a little more difficult)
I would say a plushie yooyu. It's cuteness would momentarily distract the opposing team. For the first few seconds of each round they would head towards their own goalie to show it off to their friends.

Hmm. If you go by paint colors, I would have 1 on team maraqua, 1 on faerieland, and the rest general AC fans.

Krawk Island

9! It seems like there is going to be some new stuff this year, so I am very excited. I wouldn't put me at a 10 as a crazy Techo fan - but I'm definitely excited! Krawk Island did well last year, and I hope we cary that moment forward!

I would say that I am a bit of a strange mix between a Techo Fanatic and a Slushie Slinger! I'm super excited but also want all the other teammates to feel encouraged and ready for the long journey that is AC ahead~

My MVP is definitely Coco Metrone. Not only is she a kick-butt female, but despite being a defender, she is who I score the most goals with!

A Tyrannian Yooyu! I think that it's ability would be that it causes large rocks to form on the field and blocks paths on the field!

I would have my pet TinyDoug do it, only becuase I feel like he would have so much fun! It would be hard - and I would want to switch to Kiko Lake, so it would be up in the air as to who I would pick!

My favorite staff plater is definitely Kiko Kat. I love the blue hair and again - a strong female presence is always fun.
What do you like to do around Neopia in the off-season, when the Altador Cup is not going on?
In the off season, I like to try to follow plots, play games, and spend neopoints as fast as I can earn them. I particularly love to collect plushies. My goal is to one day have every single plushie that is available in the Neopet world!

I’ve played on a different team before, however, Maraqua has been my home for years! It would be very difficult to leave my fishies :( With that being said, it would peek my interest to see a Lutari Island team as I have a soft spot for Lutaris and it would mean they found a way out of that fog...

A snow Yooyu because it’s summer and he would help cool down the place! Not to mention how cute they are :)

I would love to see the new plushie Yooyu with it not bouncing on walls cause of his soft body. Making it harder to bounce pass or accidentally missing the goal and the yooyu bouncing halfway back on the field.

I would love to see Grunstereo my maraquan Grundo replace Lamelle Turow as he’s actually maraquan and I don’t get why there’s a kiko on the maraqua team lol

My main currently has 6 maraquan supporters! Though if that Lutari island team comes through... perhaps that could change. My sides are all maraquan supporters as well.

Not really but I always welcome my fellow maraquan fishies :)
What do you like to do around Neopia in the off-season, when the Altador Cup is not going on?
I like working on my tuskaninny gallery! *nudges to tnt to release more slushie slinger waitress items* Aside from that, I enjoy training Seelblue, customizing, and collecting stamps, avatars, and neodeck cards.
Roo Island

I would give it 7/10. My excited points took a huge boost when I saw that TNT had changed the standings rules! It's so cool that daily matches matter again!

Definitely somewhere in between the Jelly Chia and the Snow Yooyu. I have moments in which I can't stop laughing, but I also have moments in which I remain calm. I'd say they are both a great part of my personality. 50/50

I like every member of team Roo Island, but I will say Lilo blumario. Althought because of the 2+2 formation I have to use Jair Tollet half of the time. It would be nice if the formation of the team was 1+3. That way Lilo could make it to the top scorers.

I've already switched teams many times so if Jelly World or Neopia Central were to become a real thing, I would sadly leave Roo Island. I always loved the Jelly World lore and there's something classic and nostalgic about Neopia Central. Lutari Island sounds awesome as well, I was able to enter the island when it was still available by phone.

I would take the normal yooyu. All of the other yooyu's give me the impression that they are going to be troublemakers. Can you imagine playing with your robot yooyu and all of sudden it just explodes in your face? No thanks haha.

Let's add the lost desert yooyu which creates a sandstorm so the goalkeeper doesn't know where he is coming from.

I would like to see Cholei, my plushie poogle play for team Roo Island and yes it would affect which team I choose. I would obviously cheer for the team he is on.

Well, at least on my main account. I would say I have 1 for Roo Island, 1 for Maraqua, 1 for kreludor and 2 for Terror Mountain.

I don't really have any favorites, but I usually choose the long-haired dude that plays for the Haunted Woods.

Well, I stick to do whatever event is going on the website when the Altador Cup is not around. I also like to write stories related to Neopian characters.

I would have to give it a 7. The AC is my favorite neopets event of all time.

I would have to say that I'm between a "Snow Yooyu" and a "jelly chia". I believe that some people take it too seriously and yet I can understand it. I guess I'm more of a "snow yooyu".

I would not switch over. When I first joined the AC, I was constantly switching to find a team I like, but as for the last few years, I've really loved Tyrannia and I plan to stick with them. Tyrannia for the cup!!!

Although the water yooyu is a great idea, I would personally like to see a ghost yooyu ball. It could go well with "haunted woods" and maybe even "krawk island". It's ability could be after so long of time, it disappear and appear somewhere else on the field.

I would have to pick my ice hissi, as he's my battledome pet, and I could see him doing very well in terror mountain. I would probably join terror mountain some years because of it, but some years stay with tyrannia.

I actually don't have a favorite. Each member has their strengths and weaknesses. Each member is a valuable part of the team, which in the right combination, can make for a great team.
