Mynci Beach Volleyball

General Info
What better than to head on over to the beaches of Mystery Island and play a game of volleyball alongside Myncis? In this sport game, Mynci Beach Volleyball, you get to do just that! But watch out for that Pawkeet as it likes to give some surprising powerups that can switch up the game.

Since this is a site feature that gives out neopoint rewards and prizes, you may not play Mynci Beach Volleyball on your side accounts. For more information look at our side accounts guide.

How To Play
Play as a Mynci in a game of volleyball. There are a total of 6 rounds to play, and the first to reach 12 points wins that round. You have a choice to play on your own with a computer-controlled Mynci, or with a friend in a two-player mode. You can play against a computer mynci who progressively gets harder and harder or you can play against a friend who is physically sitting next to you. Trophies and the avatar are only earned when playing one player.

Controls
When playing one player, the controls are the up, left and right arrow keys. Left and right arrow keys will allow the Mynci to move side-to-side, and the up arrow key will have the Mynci jump. When playing with a second player, the keys are X, V and D. The X and V keys allow the Mynci to move side-to-side, and the D key will have the Mynci jump. When playing with two players, both sets of keys can be used simultaneously.

Scoring
There is no scoreboard showing as you play the game. After each round, a notice will state how many points you've earned for that round. While all the points are cumulative, it does not state a cumulative score in the notice after each round is complete. After every round, you have a choice to send score or continue, if you've reached 12 points and passed that round. If you do not score 12 points, then it will force you to end the game. Scoring points are as follows:
  • 5 points are given for each point you were able to score in a round if you lose that round.
  • 10 points are given for each point you scored more than your opponent if you win the round.
  • 50 points are given for every round you win.
  • 200 points are given for winning all six rounds.

Power-Ups
Powerups are given by the Pawkeet that randomly flies over the volleyball game. When the ball hits the Pawkeet, a special power-up is given to the player who hit the ball against the Pawkeet first.

Power-up Description Example In-Game
Big Net A large net will appear in place of the regular-sized net.
Small Net A small net will appear in place of the regular-sized net.
Super Jump The player will be able to jump higher than their opponent.
Super Speed The player will be able to speed across their side of the court quickly. N/A
Super Size The player will be larger than their opponent.
Giant Ball The ball will appear larger than the regular-sized ball.
Watch the Turdle! The petpet, Turdle, will appear on the sand and make any player stuck for a few seconds in play.

Cheat Code:
  • Type turdle makes the petpet, Turdle, appear on the opponents court. This can only be used once per game.

  • Type dirigibles to have a Kiko blimp fly across the sky. This does not do anything to help with the game. It is just for fun and can be done many times throughout the game.

Strategies
There are a few known strategies when playing Mynci Beach Volleyball to take into consideration.

Jump through the clouds
Near the net, there are elongated clouds in the sky. Use those clouds to know when to jump and serve the ball that will arc straight into the screen wall and down into the right-hand corner. The CPU does not do well with the screen wall and will bounce off of it. It definitely has a hard time to get the ball when you do this when the opponent has the power-up, Super Size.

When you have Super Jump, you don't need to jump all the time
We recommend often moving your Mynci to angle the ball to move towards the other side of the net. When you have Super Jump, jumping may actually be hurting you more than helping. For example, you could be up in the air when the ball is on its way down and you would not be able to get it in time. In addition, never do super jump at the far end of your side of the court. The ball will end up near the net but not over it, and you will not be able to get near it because you're in midair. Jump only if you're confident it will go over. As for having a Small Net, jump when you need to as well, for you can make close-to-net passes that can catch the opponent offguard.

Slow your Super Speed
For the small area that you have, super speed can actually be too fast and can either make the ball bounce backwards or make you miss the ball by a step. We recommend clicking the left and right arrows little by little as to not overcompensate your Mynci's placement. Also, when serving, don't speed against the net like you usually would do. This will bounce the ball back and backfire your serve.

Stay in the middle of the court
It is important to always ground your Mynci in the middle of their side of the court. This is so you can easily get to where you guess the ball will fall from your opponent. Keeping to the middle also helps with getting the ball over the Big Net as spiking is not recommended (unless Big Net is paired with Super Jump).

Change Big Ball ASAP
If Big Ball is easy for you, it's easy for the CPU as well. It is difficult to get the CPU to miss the Big Ball. It is best to try and hit the Pawkeet and get a different power-up in play.

Super Size your opponent
When your opponent is Super Sized, use it to your advantage! The CPU cannot compute corners when extra large. Try to get the ball to the side of the screen and it will jump off the screen wall and miss.

Jump on that Turdle!
We recommend getting rid of that Turdle as soon as you can. When your opponent seems to be having a hard time getting the ball to your side of the court, use the few seconds to rid of the Turdle by stepping on it. If the Turdle is on your side of the court during a serve, step on the Turdle first before serving so that it is out of the way.
