Neohomes version 2

Neohomes version 2 has just started it's beta test. We will use this page to give you a brief overview of the info that we have. The screenshots below were kindly given to us by slrunion99 during the first period of closed beta test, thank you so much!


Getting Started
If you start out with your neohome v2, of course you have to create one. You can choose to build your neohome in the many different worlds of Neopia.



In the screenshots below you can see all of the neohomes in their natural surroundings.

Decorating your neohome
After you've chosen where you would like to build your neohome. You are given a starter pack (your starter pack consists of all the furniture items in the table below), and you can use normal neohome items and neohome items you can purchase at the NC Mall (yes the rumours were true). You can rotate all the items, and your pets, so you can put them in your neohome the way you want.



You can also change the walls and floors of your neohome, using the floor tiles and wall paint you can also see in the table below.

And then how does it look? Yes! Your neopets appear inside your neohome. Rather than having the old top-down view from neohomes version 1. You will now get a much more lively view of your neohome, your pets however, are static, they do not move around.

In beta testing, your neohome is one large room. Eventually you will be able to partion the room into smaller rooms, but this doesn't function yet.




New Neohome Items
On the 18th of July, some odd items began appearing in Employment Agency jobs. These items couldn't be found anywhere on Neopets, and couldn't be searched for or bought, nothing was known about them.
A few days later, some images were found on the server, corresponding to the items from the Employment Agency. These can be found below.

Neopets Faq
The first piece of news ever discovered about Neohomes version 2 was the FAQ section.
This can be found here .
This can only be viewed by testers of the neohomes 2 beta, but below is what's written.

How do I apply wall and floor textures? First, click on the Tools category in your Storage Shed and choose the wall or floor texture you'd like to apply. Then click and drag with your mouse to highlight the area you want to cover. Unclick and voilà! Your new wall or floor texture should now be in place! Why is my Neohome taking so long to load? While we're always working on optimising the application, sometimes things can slow down a bit. If your Neohome is getting too full, it will take longer to load. When it's getting close to its capacity, you'll get a warning in the warning section at the bottom of the tool bar. Try removing some items to speed things up. You can also go to the Options Menu and try turning off animations in your Neohome.

NC Mall Capsule
There is also an unreleased Neohome Mystery Capsule. We assume that if you open this mystery capsule you will receive one or more random NC Mall neohome items.




Neopets Navigation
There is going to be a direct link to neohomes in the Neopets navigation. In the module My Account, it will appear right underneath preferences. How do we know? The link is already hidden in the source of every page as a comment. You can see it below:

Furniture made ready
At the moment TNT is working hard to make all furniture ready to be used in neohome v.2. During the beta test none of the real furniture can be added yet. However, you can see which furniture is already ready and which furniture isn't. If you have an item in your inventory with a brown cell around it, this item is ready. If the cell is normal and grey, then your item is not ready.



You can also see which if furniture is neohome 2 ready if you do not own it (if it has a low enough rarity to search). If you search for a furniture item you will either see an item with a small neohome icon, or one without one. If there isn't an icon then it's not ready for neohomes v.2.
