Today SunnyNeo has a very special report for you in the spirit of the Altador Cup (which takes place in the summer).
SunnyNeo presents...
Special Report: The Faeries' Ruin Effect On The Altador Cup Teams!
Yooyuball is kind of hard to play when you're fighting against dark forces!
You can view the interviews of your favourite team(s) along with how they coped with such a devastating event!
Remember that TNT is still working on The Faeries' Ruin plot Epilogue and Prize Shop, so this can pass the time whilst you wait.
I knew I made a good decision staying at home!
WHAT? It's not over yet?
Hi username Thank you for participating in this year's Altador Cup! As you might have known, players may also participate in the Altador Cup NC Challenge by purchasing an Altador Cup V NC Challenge Game Ticket at the NC Mall. This ticket allows players to earn exclusive Neocash item prizes. It has come to our attention that a glitch occurred which allowed players who did not purchase the Altador Cup V NC Challenge Game Ticket from the NC Mall to collect one or two of these Neocash item prizes. It appears that you were one of the few players who came across this glitch and claimed either the Altador Cup Training Gym Background, the Altador Cup V Souvenir Toga, or both. Because of this, we have removed these items from your account. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. If you'd like to join the Altador Cup NC Challenge next year, or any of our NC events, please visit us at the NC Mall! Regards, TNT |
They're removing the items in alphabatical order. You can leave the glitched items in your inventory for removal.
Thanks to nahentz and friend for giving us this info.
New loyal perk
TNT added a new perk for loyal users: Books might not dissapear after your Neopets read them. Minimum age is currently unknown. Check our Account Age information for more info on loyal perks.
Hey, TNT! *throws coconuts at you* Today I decided to read books to my Neopets, and I just so happened to have Altador Cup Through the Ages. When I read it to Emelisea, it didn't disappear! Is this a glitch? Thanks! ~twiddle58 Nope, that isn't a glitch! One of our more recent Loyal User Perks is that there is a small chance a book won't disappear when you read it to your Neopet. :) *picks up the thrown coconut and looks at it* We think it's trying to say something... |
Phoenixwolfia says: 'Wow! Thank your very much. I love reading'
We've done the same with our TNT Staff Tournament guide, so you might want to look again at that one too.
O wait, something's messed up here :o
For everyone's who's had enough of hearing all this AC news, fear not! SunnyNeo's moving on to the summer, so we've put together a brand new Summer graphics page as well. But for those who can't miss it, you can still vote for our AC Staff Spotlight.
who will be the SunnyNeo's Next Top Model?
Currently TNT is working their hardest to freeze accounts that abused this glitch. If you have done nothing wrong, you have no reason to fear. If you fear that you've purchased one of these Pirate Paint Brushes, we advise you to submit a Bug Report ticket with a note to TNT, explaining that you purchased a paintbrush and are unsure if it was illegitimately earned.
If you bought a Pirate Paintbrush for a price like 99999np in the shop wizard, there is a good chance that this Paintbrush was in fact one of these affected brushes.
Remember the golden rule: If it's to good to be true, it probably is. Why not take a look at some more Neopets Rules? :)
Arr! Leave the stealin' to the pirates, Neopians.
Congratulations to Lost Desert for taking the Altador Cup! Right on their heels is Kreludor in second place, and Darigan Citadel following behind in third. Check out all the results, and give a pat on the back to Twitterpate for finishing first in the Staff Tournament! |
Everybody partay with the champions! (Image from TNT's Altador Cup Stories...)
From TNT's New Features page:
The Altador Cup Prize Shop is here! Yes, now you can go and pick our your reward for spending so much time participating in the Altador Cup! Enjoy. :) |

The winners of this year's Altador Cup tournament will be declared the afternoon of Tuesday, July the 6th. Once the results have been announced, winners and participants will receive their trophies and prize points, plus the Prize Shop will be opened. |
Whoa slow down! The results aren't in yet. I'm just taking prize shop inventory right now.
All of your team effort will pay off! *Waits anxiously for the results*
Update! The results for the last 2 days of the Finals have now been released!
Congratulations to Team Lost Desert who take home the trophy this year. Great work to Team Kreludor for taking Second Place and Darigan Citadel for seizing Third. We're just waiting for the rest of the results to come in for everyone else's progress. Then there will be the mad rush for the prize shop!
Listen to the roar of the crowds... Who will be standing in First, Second and Third Place this season?
The only time that seems too short is the time that we get to play!
So that's what being a MVP really look like...
Championship Bracket (1st-4th Place Face-off)
Team Kreludor vs. Team Roo Island: Ooh this was a tough call. Team Kreludor managed to inch ahead of the Rooligans with a win in Make Some Noise but this was almost too close to announce. Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger ended up with a tie and Shootout Showdown went to Roo Island. So, by the skin of their teeth, Team Kreludor have progressed to battle for 1st Place!
Semi-Finals Championship Bracket - Round 1, Day 2 goes to Team Kreludor over Team Roo Island!
Team Darigan Citadel vs. Team Lost Desert: This match wasn't as close as the Kreludor versus Roo Island match, as the desert squad had proven to be stronger all-around. With a Draw in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, Darigan Citadel were showing promise... but with the Sakhmetian stars outshining them in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, it was the Lost Desert who advance to play for 1st Place.
Semi-Finals Championship Bracket - Round 1, Day 2 goes to Team Lost Desert over Team Darigan Citadel!
Finals Bracket 2 (5th-8th Place Face-off)
Team Meridell vs. Team Maraqua: A reflection of yesterdays results, as Team Maraqua won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Team Meridell won Shootout Showdown but have to accept that they won't be playing for 5th Place this year.
Semi-Finals Bracket 2 - Round 1, Day 2 goes to Team Maraqua over Team Meridell!
Team Virtupets vs. Team Krawk Island: Advancing to play for 5th Place, Team Virtupets stormed Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown against the pirates to claim the overall victory. With wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, Krawk Island will just have to hope that their Yooyuball is also upto scratch when they face Meridell for 7th Place.
Semi-Finals Bracket 2 - Round 1, Day 2 goes to Team Virtupets over Team Krawk Island!
Finals Bracket 3 (9th-12th Place Face-off)
Team Haunted Woods vs. Team Terror Mountain: Nothing scares Terror Mountain it seems (aptly named considering they were facing the spookiest squad in the tournament!) as they won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, settling for a tie in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The mountaineers celebrated as they advanced to play for 9th Place.
Semi-Finals Bracket 3 - Round 1, Day 2 goes to Team Terror Mountain over Team Haunted Woods!
Team Shenkuu vs. Team Tyrannia: Team Tyrannia caused a second upset for Shenkuu as they repeated yesterday's results: A win in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown with the ninjas taking Make Some Noise. Tyrannia now get to face-off Terror Mountain for 9th Place whereas the once "favourites to win" fight for 11th Place against Team Haunted Woods in the Finals.
Semi-Finals Bracket 3 - Round 1, Day 2 goes to Team Tyrannia over Team Shenkuu!
Finals Bracket 4 (13th-16th Place Face-off)
Team Brightvale vs. Team Faerieland: Poor Faerieland didn't stand a chance. The scholars were geared up and ready to go (although they did have to fight for a few goals) and managed a clean-sweep against Faerieland. Team Brightvale now advance to play for 13th Place and Faerieland will no doubt be reaching out for 15th Place!
Semi-Finals Bracket 4 - Round 1, Day 2 goes to Team Brightvale over Team Faerieland!
Team Kiko Lake vs. Team Mystery Island: Once again, another repeat of yesterday's results (deja-vu) as Mystery Island won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown against Kiko Lake, and Kiko Lake gained a win in Slushie Slinger. The Islanders now get to play for 13th Place and Kiko Lake face Faerieland for 15th.
Semi-Finals Bracket 4 - Round 1, Day 2 goes to Team Mystery Island over Team Kiko Lake!
Consolation Bracket (17th-18th Place Face-off)
Team Altador vs. Team Moltara: In the Consolation Bracket, Team Altador and Team Moltara will be battling it out for 17th Place over four days (two of which have gone by). Altador still have the upper-hand over Moltara as they won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, and held a Draw in Slushie Slinger. Moltara maintained their dignity by taking a victory in Make Some Noise. If Moltara step up their game over the next two days, they could be looking at 17th Place!
Semi-Finals Consolation Bracket - Round 1, Day 2 goes to Team Altador over Team Moltara!
Good luck to everyone today! One day left until the Altador Cup is awarded... Stay up-to-date with our Altador Cup Coverage to see what else happens in this exciting event!
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's Altador Cup Customisation Spotlight. The SunnyNeo staff have Neopets and we want to support our teams too by having a customisation face-off!
Note: This report has been based off the match schedule results TNT published for July 2nd. There has been some confusion on the way they have decided to publish the results this year in comparison to past seasons, and we are aware that the overall standings should be based off a two-day face-off between the teams in the Semi-Finals and Finals stage. Either way, one team will win or lose in their respective brackets so do your best and good luck!
What's even more, this time, you all can decide who will be the winners! You can vote for the Pet you like the most in each category. You have a week for before the voting will end.
*Waits impatiently for the results*
Good luck to all teams - the finale games happen on July 4th before the Altador Cup goes to its new home...
I'm such a pretty trophy that I distracted TNT from updating the schedule. My bad :p
*glares* No, it's not the Meepits who are behind this...
Update: the glitch has been fixed. Good luck playing everyone!
Paper Lantern Staff, here I come!
TNT also just posted the final results for the Altador Cup Staff Tournament! Collect your prizes and see our Neopets Altador Cup Staff Tournaments guide for further information.
Championship Bracket (1st-4th Place Face-off)
Team Kreludor vs. Team Roo Island: The Kreludans can TASTE gold and really want it, but the Rooligans are dying to win this as much as they are. Yesterday present the teams with a Draw in Yooyuball, which complicated matters. So to determine a win, support games were taken into account. Team Kreludor took the overall win with Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The Rooligans were not defeated entirely, though, as they seized Shootout Showdown.
Semi-Finals Championship Bracket - Round 1, Day 1 goes to Team Kreludor over Team Roo Island!
Team Darigan Citadel vs. Team Lost Desert: It was a split match as both the Darigans and desert squad battled it out to try and get the first foot in to advance to the 1st or 2nd Place spot. Team Lost Desert were slightly stronger and won the all-important Yooyuball match with Slushie Slinger on the side. The Darigans forced a split down the middle of the results by winning Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown to retain some dominance.
Semi-Finals Championship Bracket - Round 1, Day 1 goes to Team Lost Desert over Team Darigan Citadel!
Finals Bracket 2 (5th-8th Place Face-off)
Team Meridell vs. Team Maraqua: The knights nearly drowned in a very near clean-sweep from the Maraquans yesterday, as Team Maraqua won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise mercilessly. Desperate to maintain some dignity, Team Meridell secured a win in Shootout Showdown.
Semi-Finals Bracket 2 - Round 1, Day 1 goes to Team Maraqua over Team Meridell!
Team Virtupets vs. Team Krawk Island: The priates versed the Virtupets Space Station yesterday and ended up with a Draw in Yooyuball... So once more, the support games became the decider of the match. The pirates enjoy slushies and general squabbling so they gladly took the wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Team Virtupets happily took the win in Shootout Showdown but it wasn't enough to secure an overall win.
Semi-Finals Bracket 2 - Round 1, Day 1 goes to Team Krawk Island over Team Virtupets!
Finals Bracket 3 (9th-12th Place Face-off)
Team Haunted Woods vs. Team Terror Mountain: Now this match-up held a few surprises. Terror Mountain practically let the snow crash onto the spooky squad's head as they won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown! There was a Draw in Slushie Slinger as neither team could best themselves in that game but the Haunted Woods took Make Some Noise to compensate.
Semi-Finals Bracket 3 - Round 1, Day 1 goes to Team Terror Mountain over Team Haunted Woods!
Team Shenkuu vs. Team Tyrannia: Team Tyrannia's fans were in for a treat as they got the balance right and almost swept Team Shenkuu! The prehistoric squad must have had some last minute Yooyuball skills up their sleeves (as support games are their speciality) to win Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown in one sitting. The ninjas' morale may have been stung by this result but at least the fans are still cheering them on to win Make Some Noise. Can they make the comeback they are famous for?
Semi-Finals Bracket 3 - Round 1, Day 1 goes to Team Tyrannia over Team Shenkuu!
Finals Bracket 4 (13th-16th Place Face-off)
Team Brightvale vs. Team Faerieland: No questions about who won this match. The Brightvale scholars almost gave Team Faerieland a clean-sweep with the exception of Shootout Showdown, which ended in a Draw. Can Faerieland turn it around in the second round?
Semi-Finals Bracket 4 - Round 1, Day 1 goes to Team Brightvale over Team Faerieland!
Team Kiko Lake vs. Team Mystery Island: The Islanders had a smooth game yesterday when they gained victories in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown against the Lakes. Even though this was a bad omen for Kiko Lake, at least they clawed back a win in Slushie Slinger!
Semi-Finals Bracket 4 - Round 1, Day 1 goes to Team Mystery Island over Team Kiko Lake!
Consolation Bracket (17th-18th Place Face-off)
Team Altador vs. Team Moltara: It was a Draw across the board mostly as neither of the consolation teams could best each other in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise or Shootout Showdown. The decider settled on Slushie Slinger... which Team Moltara happily took the win in!
Semi-Finals Consolation Bracket - Round 1, Day 1 goes to Team Moltara over Team Altador!
Good luck to everyone today! Only a few days left until the Altador Cup is awarded... Stay up-to-date with our Altador Cup Coverage to see what else happens in this exciting event!

- Altador Cup V Staff here…
- Finally! Hey, did you noticed something wrong with the Finals?
- I know! Can you believe those teams? It has been a crazy cup, right?
- Well, yeah, but, are you going to do something about it?
- What do you mean?
- I don't know, how about like fixing it, for example?
- Yeah, right, like FIFA is going to hear me…
- Excuse me?
- Listen, everybody is mad with the results, USA is out, England is out, the most I can do is to write a complain letter, but don't expect me to fix that, I mean it is the World Cup.
- No, no, no, I am talking about the ALTADOR CUP.
- Oh, what about it?
- What about it?!! All the finals brackets are wrong!!!
- Really? Let me check that...HOLY KAU!!!...Hold on...Hey you! Yes you, the new guy who spends his worktime in social networks, explain this… WHAT?!! … NO!!!... The Altador Cup is named after the place WHERE the cup is taking place, not because of the team WHO won the cup…
- So, what do we do? Shall we keep playing or wait to the glitch to be fixed?
- Hold on, we are working on it… are you busy harvesting what?...What do you me... is that a virtual farm?...Really?
- Helloooooo…Altador Cup problem?
- Yeah, yeah, wait a second...nooooo, come on, do you have cows also?... Really?...You will give 5 to start one?
- HEY! What should I do with my team?
- Sorry, from which country are you from?
- Mexico.
- Can't do a thing about it, you lost against Argentina, but if I were you, I put my money on Germany.
- But...
- Better luck in 4 years in Brazil, see ya!

TNT - Listen, everybody is mad with the results, USA is out, England is out, the most I can do is to write a complain letter, but don't expect me to fix that, I mean it is the World Cup.
themurci - No, no, no, I am talking about the ALTADOR CUP.

Also, the Altador Cup Finals pairings were posted by TNT this morning, but don't appear to be correct. We'll update our coverage if they change later in the day.
Update! The Match Schedule has now been amended! The Semi-Finals officially begin. Hooray!
Were the pyramids built by aliens...? No, but Team Virtupets gladly destroyed them! The Virtupets squad went for a support game-sweep but emerged with a Draw in Slushie Slinger and wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Their opponents in Team Lost Desert remained the Yooyuball giants that they've grown accustomed to and took the victory in Yooyuball.
Everything's better down where it's wetter as Team Maraqua achieved a clean-sweep against the cloudy Team Faerieland. Queen Fyora is not impressed by the Maraquan's tactics but agrees that the sweep was well-played for.
Team Meridell invaded Team Kiko Lake's locker room and stole a lot of candyfloss... mmm... This led the knights to a sweet victory in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Lake aimed their bows and fired at the Meridellians to gain a win in Slushie Slinger.
The Haunted Woods squad spooked the scholars yesterday as Team Haunted Woods won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Team Brightvale valiantly chanted their counter-spell and won Shootout Showdown respectfully.
Team Shenkuu had a good day yesterday, sweeping Team Moltara to maintain their honour. The Moltarans can only hope for one last burst of Yooyuball strength to save them from utter defeat as the Finals loom on the horizon.
The sun shone over Terror Mountain yesterday as Team Altador highlighted a Draw in Yooyuball against Team Terror Mountain and a win in Slushie Slinger. The mountaineers broke an icicle above the gladiators' heads, though, by taking victories in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.
The Rooligans were no match for the pirates, as the pirates had loaded the dice in this game. Team Krawk Island won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, but Team Roo Island bounced back with a win in Shootout Showdown and a Draw in Make Some Noise. It's tROO!
Team Mystery Island didn't stand a chance against Derlyn Fonnet's Team Kreludor. The Kreludorks stormed in and almost took a clean-sweep. The Islanders were the only ones to stop them by forcing a Draw in Yooyuball!
And finally in the Second Round Robins last match in Altador Cup V, Team Darigan Citadel clashed with Team Tyrannia. Tyrannia remained the support game supremes by winning Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown plus gaining a Draw in Make Some Noise. The Darigans had a more brutal Yooyuball force, ensuring a win for the ominous citadel.
Break time is nearly over! Prepare for the Semi-Finals... Stay in tune with the tournament thrills in our Altador Cup Coverage! This is stuff you don't want to miss!
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's Altador Cup V Team Interviews. Because interviews with other team supporters is cool.
Team Kreludor refused to go easy on Team Kiko Lake yesterday as they shone high above the fresh waters and swiped wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. As the sun rose, Kiko Lake saw their chance and promptly jumped in to attain a victory in Slushie Slinger.
Team Krawk Island raised their flag directly in front of the sun to block Team Altador's chance at burning through a victory. The pirates sailed into Altador's docks and gladly pillaged wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Altadorians managed to give the pirates a bit of sunburn by forcing a Draw in Slushie Slinger. No time to cool down now, it's the last day of the Second Round.
Team Tyrannia showed no signs of stopping when they faced off Team Faerieland and this point was demonstated as the prehistoric squad gained a clean-sweep! Fyora's Fighters were shocked at the result but vouch to play harder than ever in the last match before the Finals.
Team Terror Mountain echoed their opposites in Team Tyrannia by sending an avalanche over the unsuspecting scholars in Team Brightvale. "Squeaky" Tressif states that his team has shown potential in this year's tournament, and he hopes that they can work on their new found skills in next year's event despite the four-way loss yesterday.
Team Virtupets managed to invade Maraqua yesterday and successfully retrieved wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown for their fearsome boss, Dr. Sloth. Team Maraqua held onto some pride by taking a win in Slushie Slinger with the victory cry of "MY SLUSHIES!"
The flames flickered brightly on the beaches of Mystery Island in their oil torches as celebrations were held in honour of Team Mystery Island. The Islanders came out with wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown against Team Moltara. The Moltarans' fans had been practicing their chants to lead them to a victory in Make Some Noise.
Team Shenkuu continued to feel the power of the curse surging around them when they faced Team Haunted Woods. The spectral team scared up wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Shenkuu grasped onto the edge of the mountain and dug their fingers in to force a Draw in Make Some Noise. This result has unfortunately locked the ninjas in Eleventh Place for the time being until the Finals come.
Ah the classic clash of Team Roo Island versus Team Darigan Citadel once again as powerhouses like bygone tournaments. It was the Rooligans who managed an overall win with victories in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. The Darigans retailliated by emerging victorious in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Both teams are vying for the Top Four in the Finals!
And finally Team Lost Desert had a tough battle against the knights from Team Meridell. There was stale mate in Yooyuball as the referee declared a Draw but in Shootout Showdown Meridell took the win. Lost Desert were determined to remain dominant and smugly claimed Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise as their own.
Go out with a bang in your last match in the Second Round Robin today! There is a "Bye" (break) day tomorrow on June 30th before the Semi-Finals begin on July 1st. Keep up-to-date with our Altador Cup Coverage for all of the latest awesomeness from the tournament.
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's Fake Avatars. Because avatars rule and a fake avatar about your favourite team is sometimes better than a generic one any day!
teehee - they don't know I've just been clicking the "randomise" button!
In other news, TNT has confirmed by neomail that it's okay to collect the free JubJub Power Bounce Token on side accounts.
Sure you can claim the free token and since you don't earn Neopoints or Neopoints items by playing JubJub Power Bounce, you may certainly play this game on your sides. Feel free to collect the free token on your sides as well. Remember, though - you may only have up to 4 side accounts. |
Team Tyrannia really gave Team Mystery Island a rock concert to remember, as they swept the board with the Islanders! Forward Player, Bertie Shurtz, from Team Mystery Island stated that Tyrannia performed maginificently and that the Islanders will be investing in more codestones to enhance their training for the next tournament.
The next clean-sweep was probably an expected one as Team Moltara succumbed to the might of Dr. Sloth's Team Virtupets. The Moltarans might be feeling disheartened right now as we near the end of the tournament, but at least they will have learnt one or two things about their opponents for next time...
Team Lost Desert sucked the sun into the ground as Team Altador were the next victims of a clean-sweep. The desert squad were getting a bit sick of the intense heat so they decided to blot out Altador's sun for a day. Lost Desert are now proudly sitting at the top of the league table right now.
The results between Team Shenkuu and Team Roo Island came as a shock to most as the First Round Robin was an almost overall Draw (save for Shenkuu edging a win at the time). Both teams expected at least a Draw or a win in something but it was the Rooligans who left with celebrations as they came away with the sweep. Lilo, Captain of Team Roo Island, did say "That was a pleasant surprise! But Shenkuu did put up a good fight against us."
Team Kreludor did very well against the determined powerhouse Team Meridell by winning Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The knights struggled a bit but were able to parry for a Draw in Shootout Showdown.
Team Krawk Island raided Team Brightvale's archives to grab all the maps to success they could find. Succeed, they did, as they won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown almost without an argument. The pirates encountered a minor set-back though as the scholars scribbled back a Draw in Slushie Slinger.
Team Kiko Lake gained revenge against Team Maraqua yesterday as they dominated Yooyuball for a win, and forced a Draw in Slushie Slinger to secure an overall victory! Shocked but not defeated, the Maraquans settled for wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.
Team Faerieland are apparently ghostbusters now! Fyora's fighters rallied brilliantly in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise to gain a Draw in both of those games against Team Haunted Woods. Krell Vitor's spooky squad still managed an overall win by taking Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Congratulations to both teams!
In our final match, Team Darigan Citadel warned off the chill breeze from Team Terror Mountain by winning Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. Make Some Noise was too close to call, so they were both awarded a Draw and Terror Mountain were just that little bit quicker than Darigan Citadel to gain the win in Shootout Showdown.
Thanks for reading our Altador Cup Coverage! Good luck in your last couple of matches before the next tournament "Bye" (break) Day on the 30th June. The Semi-Finals begin on July 1st-2nd followed by the Finals on July 3rd-4th.
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's About Us page. You all know your Altador Cup team bios, it's time to get to know the SunnyNeo team!
Oh Snarkie, why did you lose? D:
And now some Capri Sun Clubhouse news: The final hidden pouch is available, and two new sections of the clubhouse have been opened. You can watch videos (hint: check your task list when you finish!) and a new Prize Shop is available too. Please note that points are not being awarded yet.
Yesterday Team Mystery Island performed the rain dance over Team Altador's statistics as the Islanders took home wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The gladiators gladly took home a win in Slushie Slinger and a batch of slushies to cool them down.
A classic age-old battle once again from historical rivals Team Meridell and Team Darigan Citadel. The Meridellians kept their pride by emerging victorious in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown but Lord Darigan's squad claimed their orb back with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.
Team Krawk Island put up a fight against Team Kreludor in the midst of a maelstrom yesterday and battled the tides to come away with a Draw in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Team Kreludor pushed for the overall win at a safe distance by winning Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown.
Team Lost Desert weren't taking any chances, so they robbed Team Brightvale of their scrolls and threw away the pens to take home a clean-sweep! The Brightvalians are a little miffed at the result but decide to tidy up their tactics before entering the next match.
Team Maraqua didn't experience a hint of a chill when Team Terror Mountain cast a cold snow storm over the oceans above. The Maraquans gained wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown, whereas the mountaineers were only able to obtain a win in Make Some Noise with the howling of the cold winds.
Team Faerieland's squad put up a good fight in Yooyuball and came out with a Draw against Team Virtupets. The space station squad were not feeling generous, though, and promptly swept the support games mercilessly.
Team Tyrannia were still on form with their support games by winning Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise against Team Haunted Woods and gaining a Draw in Shootout Showdown. The spooky squad were not affected in Yooyuball as they came away with the main event win.
Team Shenkuu got their revenge on Team Kiko Lake, after the Lakes gave Shenkuu their first Yooyuball defeat in the very first match in the First Round Robin, by seizing Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown consecutively. Kiko Lake still managed to dominate in Slushie Slinger, showing that they still mean business.
And last but not least we come to the Team Roo Island versus Team Moltara match, where the Rooligans won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown ROOspectfully. Team Moltara clawed back a Draw in Slushie Slinger to prevent being swept.

Team Brightvale didn't let Team Kiko Lake an inch near to defeating them, as the scholars almost took a clean-sweep against the Lakes. The Yooyuball squads put up an equal fight and ended up with a Draw, although Brightvale gleefully attained a support game-sweep.
Desert dunes of snowy tundras...? The heat of the desert melted Team Terror Mountain's hopes as they took wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise against the mountaineers. Team Lost Desert weren't quick enough in Shootout Showdown as Terror Mountain were quicker on the mark.
Two tough teams rounded on one another yesterday as Team Haunted Woods circled the oceans of Team Maraqua and tried everything in their power to scare a win out of the subterranean squad. Team Maraqua had none of this and ensured that the plan backfired. The Maraquans successfully thwarted the spooky squad, gaining an incredible clean-sweep! Naturally, Team Captain Elon Hughlis took all of the credit for the sweep.
Team Shenkuu fended off the Team Mystery Island natives in a sequence of tactics that gained them victories in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Bertie Shurtz from Mystery Island and Captain Mirsha Grelinek from Shenkuu battled it out for a Draw in Shootout Showdown.
It was a mixed bag of results in the Team Faerieland versus Team Altador match. The Faerielanders made a grand victory in Yooyuball and pressed for a Draw in Shootout Showdown. Team Altador kept their spirits high and took wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The sun shone brightly over the clouds that held a silver lining.
It was a close match between Team Roo Island and Team Kreludor, gaining an overall win for the Rooligans! Team Roo Island managed to succeed in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. The Kreludorks were not going to be completely beaten so they dominated Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise to ensure their dignity remained in tact.
Team Tyrannia were the ones on fire in their games against Team Moltara. The Tyrannians stormed through Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown like there was no tomorrow. The Moltarans were feeling lucky yesterday and cheered up a chorus victory in Make Some Noise.
Team Darigan Citadel summoned wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Their opponents, Team Virtupets prevented themselves from gaining a "telling off" from Dr. Sloth by winning Shootout Showdown.
In our final match, Team Meridell showed the pirates what-for when they won Yooyuball. Team Krawk Island were not going to be defeated by a "bunch of metal-wearing knights" and promptly went on to support game sweep the medieval squad.

In our first match, Team Kreludor cast a half-crescent over Neopia as Team Tyrannia won and lost two games yesterday. Kreludor achieved an overall win with Yooyuball and Make Some Noise but the prehistoric squad remained strong in the support games by winning Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown.
Team Kiko Lake turned into an ice rink after Team Terror Mountain won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The Kikos were ready to go down swinging and won Shootout Showdown, preventing a clean-sweep against them.
Team Darigan Citadel kindly offered to sweep Team Faerieland's statistics... they took home four wins. The Faerieland Fighters did not despair, because they live upto their names and fight on through the next matches.
A clean split down the middle in the results for the Team Brightvale and Team Mystery Island games, where the scholars won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. The Islanders took wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. An interesting game for both teams fans.
Team Roo Island and Team Meridell clashed head-to-head as they both are fighting for the Top Four positions. Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger were too close to call and the referee granted both teams a Draw. Meridell gained a win in Make Some Noise and Roo Island took home Shootout Showdown... Gridlock - an overall Draw.
Team Moltara rallied for a win in Slushie Slinger, stunning their opponents in Team Maraqua as they were expecting to sweep the Steampunk Squad. The Moltarans had perfected their wrist action and state that they are settling into the tournament gradually. The Maraquans shrugged that win off though as they came away with Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Water + Magma did not equal a winning result for Steam this time.
Team Haunted Woods shocked the stadium when they nearly mowed down Team Lost Desert with a near-sweep! Led by Team Captain Krell Vitor, the spooky squad took three wins, only having their clean-sweep spoilt by the desert squad gaining a tie in Shootout Showdown. Leera Heggle ffrom Team Lost Desert stated that his team had to admit, the Haunted Woods squad executed an almost-perfect sequence of tactics against their squad.
The pirates had no sea to sail across when they versed Team Virtupets yesterday, leaving Team Krawk Island with a Draw in Yooyuball and a win in Slushie Slinger. The space station squad dominated Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown though... Time to sail back to safer shores, pirates.
And in our last match, Team Shenkuu rallied against Team Altador in an effort that boosted them out of Eleventh Place up to Tenth Place. The ninjas won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise honourable, succumbing to a Draw in Shootout Showdown as the gladiators let them know that they were still making an effort for their king.
This concludes our report for Day 30 of the tournament. For all the latest updates, keep following our Altador Cup Coverage.
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's Altador Cup IV Coverage. A recap of what happened in last year's tournament for the curious or nostalgic.
I saw you on the boards! You thought I was gonna look ugly and lopsided :(
Note: TNT has stated that it will be a little while longer before final prizes are awarded. Just a reminder that you have until July 5th to complete your challenges!
In our first match, Team Haunted Woods summoned spirits to haunt Team Meridell during their games... Sligthly distracted by an army of zombies, Meridell were only able to Draw in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown as they spent most of their time fearing for their lives. Using this to their advantage, Team Haunted Woods gained the last two wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.
Team Lost Desert managed to upperhand Team Tyrannia by giving them a hard time in the support games as well as in Yooyuball! The desert squad marched in and whipped up wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, and they grabbed a Draw in Slushie Slinger for good measure on their way out of the stadium. Shocked, Team Tyrannia clinged onto their last hope, a win in Shootout Showdown against Vonde Cayle.
The island of mystery went against the island of piracy yesterday... and the pirates looted the Tiki Tack Shop, the Tropical Food Stall (they don't want to get scurvy now), the Mystery Island Training School and the Deserted Tomb in Geraptiku for a laugh. Team Krawk Island actually won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, cutting out the banter about what pirates do on a weekend. Team Mystery Island ended up trading in their tasty grogs for icy slushies as they milked a win for Slushie Slinger.
The sun still failed to penetrate the glassy oceans of Maraqua... which is a good thing for the Maraquans because their Altador Cup team took home wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown respectfully. Team Altador shone brightly across the choppy waves and won Slushie Slinger honourably.
Kreludor are not interested in steam-powered technology and promptly made a point against it by sweeping Team Moltara across the board. Team Kreludor thanked the Moltarans for a good match though, and state that there might be hope for them next year as stronger contenders if they work really hard for it.
The Rooligans dived into Kiko Lake, swam around, ate some candyfloss and celebrated wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown whilst watching the sunset. Team Kiko Lake tried their chances and rolled the dice, gaining a lucky win in Slushie Slinger against Team Roo Island.
Team Faerieland had to trade quills for ballpoints (wow, a hidden pun!) in their match against Team Brightvale, but came up short and lost all four games to the scholars. I guess it was the Library Faerie's day off otherwise the scores might have been a bit more... legible for Faerieland...
The Darigans were a little bit wary of Team Shenkuu (given the fact that they swept the ninjas in the First Round) as they braced themselves for a strong retaliation. This retaliation wasn't as difficult as Team Darigan Citadel expected, because of a few well-placed distractions they won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise! Shenkuu's Team Captain, Mirsha Grelinek, got her own back by winning Shootout Showdown to prevent a clean-sweep against them.
And in our last match of the day (yesterday) Team Virtupets proved that that light sabres really CAN melt snow as they faced Team Terror Mountain in a rather biased match. Dr. Sloth's favourites won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, but fell short as Terror Mountain cold-snapped up a win in Shootout Showdown.
Play well, everyone! The Second Round Robin is inching towards a close. The second tournament break day is on June 30th, same rules as the break day that occurred on the 12th June. Stay up-to-date with our Altador Cup Coverage this season on SunnyNeo!

Can you hear me now?
The knights took a break from battling and embarked on an epic Limbo competition against the Mystery Islanders. Showing how to play "medieval style" led to wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown for Team Meridell, where as the traditional Limbo experts from Team Mystery Island only came away with a win in Slushie Slinger. I guess Meridell really bent over backwards for those wins! *Rimshot*
The Krawkstars had another face-off with the rockstars and came away with another mixed result. Singing their way to the next level, Team Krawk Island won Yooyuball and Drew in Make Some Noise. Team Tyrannia cleaned up backstage though by winning Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown against the pirates. "Yo ho, yo ho, a gold trophy for me..." Sang the fans of Team Krawk Island.
Team Kiko Lake were a little bit nervous when UFOs from the Virtupets Space Station appeared over their statistics. Captain Keetra Deile's Team Virtupets squad took wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown as their fans also took a win in Make Some Noise. The Kikos had faster slushie slinging abilities as they came away with a victory in Slushie Slinger.
Team Lost Desert made a statement yesterday when they faced Team Faerieland that they don't "do" losses. They backed up that statement by winning Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise consecutively. What they did not count on was the prowess of Faerieland's Team Captain who forced a Draw in Shootout Showdown! Good work, Faerieland!
Ninjas versus the Kreludorks? That time already? Although Kreludor seem to be vying for First Place and Shenkuu are shackled to Eleventh Place at the current time, it seemed expected that Team Kreludor would get some wins in against Team Shenkuu. Thus it happened, Kreludor support game-swept their opponents, but the ninjas had one last trick up their sleeves and forced a Draw in Yooyuball. No matter how far apart they are in the ranks, Kreludor still struggle against Shenkuu in Yooyuball.
The new brand of Steampunk Pens didn't real catch on in Brightvale, so Team Brightvale took it upon themselves to show them how pens are meant to be crafted... In Altador Cup terms that means the Team Brightvale took wins in all four games against Team Moltara. Don't worry, Moltarans, you can send them a very nasty letter with Meepits next summer.
The legions of the undead or paranormal clashed in yesterdays' match between Team Haunted Woods and Team Terror Mountain as Icy Skeletal Hordes and spooky spirits rose in the stadium to lend their support respectively to both teams. The Haunted Woods managed an overall win by taking Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger wisely, but the mountaineers fought back with a win in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. In other news, the Yurble cleaner had to mop up the pitch after that match as all the Icy Skeletons melted in the Altadorian heat.
Team Darigan Citadel are on a roll as they almost swept Team Maraqua yesterday! Floating high above the rest, the Darigans support game-swept the subterranean squad but their Yooyuball teams were evenly matched and took a Draw in the main event. Captain Layton Vickles of Team Darigan said, "You know... we're doing pretty well. Let's do better, fans!"
And last but not least, Team Roo Island took on the gladiators of Team Altador and amply won three out of four games. Team Altador shone the brightest in the support game Slushie Slinger and won that match over the Rooligans. It may not have stopped them from losing but one win is better than nothing! Especially when the game is Slushie Slinger... *pokes the sleeping waitress awake with a stick*

This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's Altador Cup III Coverage. A bit of nostalgia for the reminiscent type of Neopian of tournaments past...
An injured Team Shenkuu got just what the doctor ordered yesterday in the form of four much-needed wins (gaining their first clean-sweep this season)! In better spirits the ninjas hope they can continue the rally into their future matches. Team Brightvale are not happy about the result and have been training harder for the next opponent that gets in their way.
The sun wasn't shining for Team Darigan Citadel and that's EXACTLY what they wanted! Team Altador were swept away by the stronger Darigan Citadel, unable to have the time to force a draw, a full victory went to the Darigans. Let's hope Altador can blind their next opponent!
Another sweep but this time with Team Haunted Woods versus Team Kiko Lake. Kiko Lake's star player Holbie Pinnock couldn't keep up with the Yooyus and the supporters got lost in the support games, making an easy path for the spooky squad to take home four wins. "Brains", stop chewing on Meela Kitah's head!
Pirates don't like glitter! So what do they do about it? They SWEEP it up. Team Faerieland were the next victims to be swept away in the tidal waves, unable to match Team Krawk Island in any of the games. The faeries are not going to go down without a fight!
Moltara found their machinery was clogged up once again by sand from the Lost Desert as Team Lost Desert took the final clean-sweep against Team Moltara yesterday. Too preoccupied getting their team to function in a less-sandy manner, the desert squad left the stadium with four wins.
Team Terror Mountain and Team Mystery Island struggled to decide on wins yesterday, so the mountaineers decided to dominate Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, whereas the Islanders chanted their way to victory in Make Some Noise and Slushie Slinger. Mystery Island's forecast tomorrow equals cold Northern winds.
No, this definitely proves that water cannot reach the moon by sheer will power. Team Kreludor almost gained a clean-sweep against the strong Team Maraqua but fell a tiny bit short when Captain Elon Hughlis' team forced a Draw with the Kreludorks in Yooyuball. King Kelpbeard is over the moon (pardon the pun) that his team wasn't swept.
Team Virtupets were extremely determined not to let Team Roo Island win their Yooyuball match yesterday, which paid off for the space station squad, but the Rooligans took advantage of their distraction and won all three support games to compensate. Nothing like a little bit ROOverse psychology to make a game more interesting!
And our last match of the day was between Team Meridell and Team Tyrannia, one which ended with mixed results across the board. The knights took the overall win by winning Yooyuball and Drawing Make Some Noise, but the prehistoric squad were not far behind with wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown.

You will get this water dispenser if you guessed everything right!
Lyk srsly?
Poor Kiko Lake didn't have a chance as Yooyus and Slushies were thrown into the water accompanied by shouts that woke the neighbours. The culprits were Team Tyrannia who soundly gained four wins from Team Kiko Lake yesterday!
The sun and the moon circled each other in one last celestial dance, proving that the mood does have the ability to block the sun's chances of a win! Team Kreludor came away with a clean-sweep against Team Altador - congratulations!
In the Team Terror Mountain versus Team Faerieland match looked like it might have been a close one! Well, maybe not. The Faerielanders didn't expect a ton of snow to fall on their heads as the mountaineers sledged away with a clean-sweep.
The knights raided Moltara once again before the Steampunk Squad could bolt the doors shut... Let's just say that there was a lot of metal-on-metal clanging happening, a few screams of terror and a Weewoo that got lost somewhere and ended up underground. Fancy stuff aside, Team Meridell gained a clean-sweep against Team Moltara.
Team Roo Island really don't want to let their chances slip thROOgh the net (oh look, another pun!) as they took home wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown yesterday. Team Mystery Island, their opponents, were feeling rather thirsty and poured out a Draw in Slushie Slinger.
The Darigans stared down the scholars as they gained three wins against Team Brightvale without blinking. The only game Team Darigan Citadel couldn't quite best the scholars in was Slushie Slinger, which resulted in a Draw.
Well, Team Krawk Island didn't managed to smash holes in Team Shenkuu's flying ship, but they did cause significant damage to the hull of their statistics. The Krawkstars managed wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, whereas the ninjas held their own by taking Slushie Slinger and Drawing Make Some Noise. Hats off to the pirates for a good match!
It was floods versus droughts yesterday when Team Maraqua faced Team Lost Desert. The Maraquans proved their prowess by taking a win in Yooyuball but the desert squad were much better at Slushie Slinger and took that win for themselves. Neither team could best each other in Make Some Noise or Shootout Showdown, meaning that they were both awarded a Draw in those games.
And finally we come to the Team Haunted Woods versus the Team Virtupets match which ended up with dark magic being fired at UFOs... Something went upside down for the teams as there was a clear split down the middle of the results, giving Team Haunted Woods wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger and Team Virtupets the wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.
Thanks for reading! You can read past news and look at all the other cool Altador Cup stuff SunnyNeo has to offer in our Altador Cup Coverage.
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's Altador Cup Goal Counters... It's your very own personal scoreboard for your Neopets pages! Yay!
Well, that was certainly an unexpected result! Team Kreludor must have been scared something rotten for them to sacrifice Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown in favour of their opponents in Team Haunted Woods! Krell Vitor, Team Captain of the Haunted Woods, stated that his squad were really on form this match and that the supporters rallied at just the right moment to gain them the win on the higher seeded Team Kreludor. Too shocked to cheer above the howls of the night, Kreludor's fans only managed to gain a Draw in Make Some Noise.
Team Roo Island did a repeat of Day 24's results when they won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown against Team Lost Desert yesterday. Not even the daunting deserts could stop the Rooligans for achieving that overall win! Team Lost Desert managed to recover by obtaining victories in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Maybe the desert fans were cheering loudly in Make Some Noise to try and ignore the long stream of puns coming from Roo Island's end of the pitch? (ROOdiculous puns? SeROOiously? Mwahaha...)
The pitch was on fire when Team Altador took on Team Moltara in a match that resulted in a clean split down the middle for the results. The sun squad burned a line in the results to claim wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger as their own territory, whereas Team Moltara summoned magma from the depths of the earth to become victorious in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Needless to say, there was an increase in slushie sales after that heated match.
The space station rounded on the scholars yesterday and zapped away Team Brightvale's precious statistics library! Team Virtupets won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown much to the dismay of King Hagan in Brightvale. Team Brightvale picked themselves up, though, to win Slushie Slinger.
It's not over for the ninjas yet as many predicted doomsday-like results for Team Shenkuu when they faced Team Faerieland. Adamant to prove that they had not lost hope and were still retaining their dignity, the ninjas gratefully took home wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise from the faeries. Team Faerieland were not swept away entirely as they dug their heels in to achieve a win in Shootout Showdown.
The pirates took a wrong turning and ended up at Kiko Lake... just fantastic... Well, not ones to arrive at a location and not loot it, Team Krawk Island raided the match results and emerged with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Kiko Lake grabbed their bows and arrows and started firing at the pirates to chase them off their property, gaining a win in Slushie Slinger as they complained angrily about the pirates stealing their victories.
Team Tyrannia faced Team Maraqua yesterday and attempted another support game sweep... sort of. The prehistoric squad succeeded in winning Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise respectfully, but the Maraquans would not allow this match to end with an overall Draw, so they won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown to prove a point.
It was a day of mixed results when Team Meridell took on Team Terror Mountain, leaving the supporters in a bit of confusion. The knights definitely took the overall win by prevailling in Yoyuball and Make Some Noise, but Terror Mountain's Prytariel secured the win for her team in Shootout Showdown. The referee judged the Slushie Slinger match and concluded that the results were too close to call and awarded a Draw for both teams.
And in the final match, it was Team Darigan Citadel versus Team Mystery Island in a battle to decide which was better... a floating citadel or a tropical beach island... Team Darigan Citadel rather solidly proved that a dark force overpowers a sunny day on the beach as they won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Mystery Island did not like the thought of being swept away by the Darigans so they used up their energy to force a Draw in Shootout Showdown instead. Better than losing fully!
Come on, teams! It's time to rally yourselves as the Second Round Robin advances into the later stages, closer to the Finals. If that's not enough excitement for you, wait until you get a load of our Altador Cup Coverage - you'll feel like it's your birthday with all the treats in store for you here like guides, news and goodies!
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's ACV Poll! Who do you think will win this years Altador Cup?
No... Team Jellyworld will not win the cup -_-;;
"The one to watch" was the face-off between powerhouses Team Darigan Citadel and Team Lost Desert where one of the most intense matches in the Altador Cup occurred yesterday. The referee had a hard time keeping up with which direction the Yooyus were heading and occationally hesitated on whether or not to distribute red or yellow cards for potential breaches in game etiquette. After the adrenaline-fuelled match, both teams were awarded a Draw in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. The deciders landed in Team Lost Desert's favour, though, as they secured wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise!
Team Krawk Island and Team Maraqua had their second face-off of the season yesterday and ended up with a few mixed results. Team Maraqua proved to be mightier at Yooyuball as they reeled in a win, but they achieved equality against the pirates in the Slushie Slinger support game. Not ones to be insulted, the pirates gained the last laugh by seizing Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown against the subterrainean squad.
The Lakes took on the Faeries in a match that proved Team Faerieland mean business. Fyora's Fighters took home wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, showing us all that they are taking their games seriously. Team Kiko Lake are not despondant because they were able to recover wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. It was an amicable match at the end of the day, as both teams shook hands respectfully at the end.
Team Terror Mountain did not melt under the intense heat of Team Moltara's offence as they won three of four games, only succumbing to a Draw in Slushie Slinger. Team Captain Prytariel of Terror Mountain said; "I am incredibly proud of my team and our supporters. Team Moltara may not be experts this year, but over time I see that they have unlocked potential."
Team Roo Island mirrored the results of Team Shenkuu's match against Tyrannia yesterday, as the Rooligans won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown against the prehistoric squad. The Tyrannians held their own in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise against the Rooligans, taking those games as wins. This match was just enough to push the Roo Island squad into the top tier!
The knights invaded Shenkuu yesterday and took out the ninjas with medieval combat over ancient martial arts. Team Meridell won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown respectfully. Team Shenkuu's supporters kept their spirits high enough to win Make Some Noise, but it was only enough to prevent a clean-sweep against their team. The knights celebrated with goblets of fine nectars and meaty meals. The ninjas are hoping their supporters still have enough morale left to go out with a bang!
Team Virtupets took on Team Mystery Island and zapped all of their pretty sandcastles away with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Feeling that the space station squad needed to cool their jets, Mystery Island took it upon themselves to sling those slushies far into space to win Slushie Slinger.
The scholars just didn't have their papers in order when they went to face the lunar squad yesterday. Team Kreludor gained a fantastic clean-sweep over Team Brightvale. "Squeaky" Tressif, Brightvale's Team Captain, says "It is frustrating but we are not going to cry over spilt milk. We will do better in our next match."
And finally we come to the Team Haunted Woods versus Team Altador match, where the sun could not peak through the dense, scary forest of the Haunted Woods at all! The spooky squad rampaged their way to gaining four sound wins! I guess that gladiator weaponry doesn't exactly work against the intense dark magic of the Haunted Woods! Better luck next time, Altador. (We'd suggest that you should bring some rock salt to next year's tournament, Team Altador, we've heard that it works well against creepy creatures of the night...)
Oh it looks like the chariot parked outside the stadium has been moved. Good for the Neopet who owned it! Anyway, if you want to stay up-to-date with all the latest Altador Cup news and goodies, feel free to follow our awesome Altador Cup Coverage!
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's Altador Cup Ranks page... It's nice to see how close you are to obtaining the next shield, but we all know you have a favourite coloured gem!
There were mixed results from the Team Faerieland versus Team Moltara match, where Moltara really kicked up a fuss against the stronger Faerielanders. Fyora's Fighters had the upperhand as they wished themselves wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown and wins they did get! The Moltarans had put their new-found support game experience to use by winning Make Some Noise and forcing a Draw in Slushie Slinger. The Steampunk Squad should not be underestimated! But it was a close match.
Kiko Lake found their watery home saturated with sand yesterday as Team Lost Desert almost swept the floor with their opponents in Team Kiko Lake. The desert squad managed to cause a storm by winning Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The plucky Kikos did not like floundering around in a ridiculous amount of sand yesterday and clawed their way back with a Draw in Slushie Slinger. The Kikos will not let their guard down enough to be swept!
An epic battle in space occurred when Team Virtupets took on the slightly stronger Team Kreludor in one of those historically important matches (all relevant to the villain Dr. Sloth of course). There were Yooyus, players and lasers zooming around everywhere - although without the lasers because the Altador Cup Committee won't allow them in matches - until a result had been generated... Team Virtupets honourably won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger (not Sloth's influence at all! *shifty eyes*) whereas Team Kreludor won Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. A fine split down the middle of the results!
Apparently a Meridellian sword is able to cut through a beam of Altadorian sunlight! Well, not really, it's just a pretty myth I made up right now but it sounds awesome. One thing that is not a tale of myth or legend is the match results for Team Meridell versus Team Altador yesterday! The gladiators were not equipped enough to handle the war-experience Meridellians as the knights swept the board and took home four wins for their King. But don't let this dampen your mood, Altador, there is always today's match to pull yourselves back up.
Feuding neighbours Team Mystery Island and Team Maraqua came knocking on each others' door yesterday and gained a police warning for neighbourhood disturbance. They were arguing over whose squad was better in the Altador Cup was and one thing led to another and... yeah that story isn't as important as the match results! Team Mystery Island proved their worth as they won the main event of Yooyuball, but the Maraquans let the tides in on the Island beaches to gain a support game sweep. Now, send each other a muffin basket to make up, neighbours!
Pirates don't like cold weather, it messes with their ship, and no one messes with their ship! This is why Team Terror Mountain experienced a slight complex when Team Krawk Island took wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise yesterday. Terror Mountain have had its own share of thieves to deal with in the past, it didn't need more in the form of piracy! So the mountaineers sent one last gust of icy Northern win to chill the pirates in their boots, allowing Terror Mountain to win Shootout Showdown.
Not ones to back down after hard trials, Team Shenkuu recovered themselves yesterday when they went up against the support game-heavy Team Tyrannia. The ninjas managed to take the important Yooyuball win from the prehistoric squad along with a much-needed win in Shootout Showdown. The Tyrannian squad had not lost their reputation, though, as they succeeded in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise once again. A fun day to witness, nevertheless.
Two of the most daunting teams in the tournament went head-to-head and left the match with... a Draw. The two opposing squads, maginificent in their own intimidating way, equalled each other perfectly in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise! A Slushie Slinger win was later declared for Team Haunted Woods and Shootout Showdown was given to Team Darigan Citadel. The Team Captains weren't too happy about this but at least none of them lost fully!
And last of all, we come to the Team Roo Island versus Team Brightvale match, where the Rooligans kindly swept the scholars' study... Four beautiful wins were declared for the happy-go-lucky Roo Islanders. King Hagan said that his team really needed to review their tactics if they were going to become the powerhouse they almost were at the start of the tournament this year. King Roo chuckled saying that the Brightvalian's powerhouse illusion was just a bygone fluke. Hagan disapproves of that remark.

*meep* This newspost has been brought to you by...the Meepits! *meep*
In the first match, the intrepid squadron called Team Virtupets took on the valiant knights from Team Meridell. There was no messing with the space station as Virtupets won the match with victories in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. The knights fended for a Draw in Slushie Slinger but obtained sweet success in Make Some Noise.
The pirate ghosts or ghost pirates debate rolls on like the waves as Team Krawk Island Drew the game of Yooyuball with their opponents in Team Haunted Woods. The spooky squad were thirsty for a win in something so they threw those slushies faster than the mightiest pirate in history! The pirates had a better idea and ensured they had the overall win by taking Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The spooky squad are glad that they are not the only ones who were cursed as past winners.
Team Shenkuu found themselves swept away at sea yesterday but managed to recover enough breath to Draw in Slushie Slinger against Team Maraqua. The Maraquans summoned their underwater forces to drown their opponents in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. As the ninjas dried themselves off they have not lost their spirit. Captain Mirsha Grelinek said on behalf of her team, "Although this year has been difficult for us, we are not losing hope. Shenkuu's spirit will never break and we will keep trying no matter how impossible the task."
It was the vast expanse of the Lost Desert versus the scenic beaches of Mystery Island as Team Lost Desert brawled it out with Team Mystery Island yesterday. With the taunt "we have lots more sand than you!" the desert squad took home wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Vonde Cayle and Bertie Shurtz couldn't seem to beat each other in Shootout Showdown, though, and settled for a tie.
Once again, Team Tyrannia swept the support games! This time it was against those cunning scholars from Team Brightvale, who could only manage to gain a Draw in Yooyuball. "Squeaky" Tressif is not dismayed as any score that prevents being swept is a good thing. We have also received news that the Altador Cup Committee have decided to drop the disciplinary against Team Brightvale for alleged foul play on the pitch.
Another relaxing day for Team Roo Island as they waltzed in and took wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise against Team Terror Mountain. Captain Prytariel fought hard for her squad yesterday in Shootout Showdown and emerged victorious against Lilo Blumario. "The Rooligans are good, but I've still got fight in me!" She commented with a laugh.
It turns out that the Darigan Citadel isn't a fan of Steampunk technology, so they got the message across by winning all four Altador Cup games against Team Moltara. Although the Moltarans cannot deny that Darigan Citadel are a tough squad, they were hoping for at least a Draw somewhere. Maybe they just need to refocus on their tactics for a window of opportunity to arrive.
Congratulations to Team Altador who swept Team Kiko Lake yesterday. The Kikos had been caught off-guard this once and the gladiators made King Altador very proud of the results. "Thank you for your dedication, Team Altador." The King stated happily from his place in the VIP booth. The Kikos are disappointed but are geared up for their next opponents who might have revenge on the menu. Timu from Team Altador punched the air in joy after the match, shouting the words, "Kiko Lake won't be getting their deck chairs back this time. Haha!"
And finally we come to the Team Kreludor versus Team Faerieland match where there wasn't a magical cloud in the sky to dim Kreludor's chances in this match-up yesterday! Moonlight magic was far more superior than Faerieland magic in this face-off, giving the lunar squad the ability to gain a clean-sweep against Fyora's Fighters. The Faerielanders haven't lost the plot though as they will rally when the time is right.

Sure, I'll share. . . NOT!
In the match between Team Kiko Lake and Moltara, the was a small core meltdown as the Moltarans boiled Kiko Lake! Unable to establish dominance over one another, the two hardy squads took a Draw in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, leaving the Kikos to take the win in Slushie Slinger and the Moltarans to take a win in Make Some Noise. Not sure what did it, but the newest team to the tournament are fighting back!
It was another close face-off as the knights and the Maraquans duelled underwater... Hmm, metal suits in water? Not a good combination for Team Meridell as Team Maraqua won Yooyuball and forced a tie in both Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. The knights weren't rusty enough to suffer a complete loss, as they won Make Some Noise... which was more like "make some gurgling sounds" given that shouting underwater is somewhat difficult for landlubbers!
The scholars prepared their pens and paper as the gladiators entered the stadium... Team Brightvale had been studying their opponents as they managed to win Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. Team Altador's fans were ultimately more excited, as they soundly won Make Some Noise. Neither team could best each other in Shootout Showdown, ending in a Draw and a truce.
Team Darigan Citadel were not impressed when the pirates from Team Krawk Island ran in and stole a victory in Yooyuball from them! So the Darigans got their own back and seized wins in both Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Slightly ticked off by this, both teams fought it out in Shootout Showdown, only to be announced a Draw at the end. Nevermind!
It was an interesting game to witness when Team Tyrannia went head-to-head with Team Virtupets, as the Tyrannians seemed to struggle a bit with the support games. The prehistoric squad and Dr. Sloth's favourites managed a tie in Yooyuball, but Virtupets were more eager for a win, so they gladly swiped victories in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Tyrannians maintained their Slushie Slinger power, though, as they brought home a win in said support game.
Shenkuu's misty mountain was unable to forecast an icy chill from Terror Mountain's Northern winds and unfortunately left home without a jacket or gloves... Team Shenkuu's Yooyuball squad remained strong as they achieved a win in the main event, but the mountain became too slippery and the support games slid out of reach. Team Terror Mountain were conditioned for these situations and gladly won Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Slushie Slinger remained neutral territory as both teams Drew in that game.
The Mystery Islanders will be sleeping with one eye open tonight as yesterday Team Haunted Woods spooked wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown! Team Mystery Island climbed up the vines of statistical recovery by winning Make Some Noise. The Islanders diet of fruit must give them a very good vocal range.
The titans in the form of Team Kreludor and Team Lost Desert battled it out for dominance yesterday, knowing that they would not get another chance to do so unless they meet again in the Finals round. In an impressive turn of events, Team Kreludor used the dark side of the moon tactics to confuse the desert squad as they won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown tirelessly! The Lost Desert team gagged for water as they reached out for that Draw in Slushie Slinger... Mmm... slushies...
And the last report of the day: The Team Roo Island versus Team Faerieland match was... VERY colourful! Lots of blues, yellows, reds, greens, pinks and purples littered the stadium accompanied by roaring fans and the jangle of Rooligan bells. Lilo and co. managed simple wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, where as Fyora's Fighters redeemed themselves for a win in Slushie Slinger. What a magical spectacle to behold!
This concludes our match report for today but the games are not over yet! For all of you regular readers, you are probably aware of the awesome things available to you in our Altador Cup Coverage! Keep checking back for more updates.

Our Exclusive Stories From The Altador Cup page has been updated respectfully in relation to this news flash.
So, Moltara fans, give a cheer for Vere!
The Rooligans ain't afraid of no ghosts as they casually drifted in and left with Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown wins... Nothing will get in their way! Although Team Haunted Woods sent out a message to Count Von Roo to distract the Rooligans long enough to seize a win in Slushie Slinger. "Brains" Mortigan is so happy that his jaw fell off laughing.
Team Mystery Island didn't let the quaint Team Kiko Lake outdo their beach of success as they gained wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Lakes tried not to let the Islanders get the best of them and edged a win in Slushie Slinger. I guess they like those slushies too much to lose!
The Moltarans really did try to fend off the pirates in the Team Krawk Island versus Team Moltara match, but ended up being swept by the salty seadogs. Moltara's new manager advised his squad not to be disheartened, as any Draws or wins from now on will be respectable.
The sun could not penetrate the space station's cold forcefield as Team Virtupets gained a full sweep against Team Altador in yesterday's match. Dr. Sloth enjoys the trauma his team have caused the Altadorians. King Altador made no comment but whispered to his fellow Heroes something along the lines of "Is his ego big enough?"
The ninjas fought hard against the sandstorm of the Lost Desert but were unable to gain their footing on the steep sand dunes. Team Lost Desert pickpocketed three support game wins but Team Shenkuu's Yooyuball squad reformed and forced a Draw in Yooyuball. The sands of time a slipping away as the Second Round Robin advances.
Team Tyrannia and Terror Mountain had another awkward face-off after their player transfers. It ended in a respectful Draw in Yooyuball, an expect Tyrannian victory in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, but the mountaineers fought back for a win in Shootout Showdown. I guess they're pretty evenly matched now!
Team Maraqua used a different type of ink to blot out Team Brightvale's hard work yesterday, as the Maraquans eluded the scholars' attacks and won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Brightvalians refused to drown in the statistics pool and cleared enough ink off the page to scrawl a win in Slushie Slinger.
The lunar squad managed to mesmerise the Darigan Citadel as Team Kreludor won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown against Team Darigan Citadel yesterday. The Darigans did not take that sitting down, though, as they rallied for a Draw in Slushie Slinger and a win in Make Some Noise. I bet Tandrak Shaye is glad he has all the noisy fans right now.
And last but not least... The knights raided Queen Fyora's castle and came away with all the Hidden Tower items! Moving onto tournament news... (got you there!) Team Meridell swept Team Faerieland by winning all four games. Fyora's Fighters might need to use some magic to get back on their feet, as we all know that faerie magic is the best source of power in Neopia. King Skarl still believes that he has the best Yooyuball team on the planet. Queen Fyora stated amicably that his team played very well.
Good luck in your matches today and keep up-to-date with all the latest happening in our Altador Cup Coverage!
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo's Altador Cup Pixelated Badges... because they're another cool way to show your team support!
The only safe place in this tournament is the bench!
In our first match-up, geological rivals clashed as the kingdoms of Brightvale and Meridell went head-to-head. King Skarl taunted his clever brother as his knights almost swept the board Old Skool style! "Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Slushie Slinger. THREE WINS, HAGAN! Eat my dust, brainiac." Skarl mocked King Hagan whilst chewing on some chicken. "Oh shush, brother dear." Hagan remarked in a somewhat displeased manner. "We won Slushie Slinger... so our team has a higher endurance for boredom." Not something to boast about, Hagan...
In our second match-up Team Krawk Island were beached on the Lost Desert and did battle with the Sakhmet squad in the baron land. The pirates grabbed an amazing win in Yooyuball but succumbed to Team Lost Desert's wrath when it came to the support games. The desert squad won both Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise but had to settle for a Draw in Shootout Showdown. The Krawkstars' only problem after that match was how they were going to tow their statistics ship out of the sand dunes.
Jair Tollet and Elon Hughlis from teams Roo Island and Maraqua respectfully, groaned when they saw that their teams would be facing so soon again on the schedule. Reluctantly they took to the field and "got the match over with"... ending in a victory for Jair and Team Roo Island as they took Maraqua down in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. The Maraquans can never leave without a win, so they settled for wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise instead.
Team Tyrannia's songs rocked on all night until Team Altador's sunset... and amidst the cheers of countless fans the Tyrannians gained an encore. The prehistoric squad showed Altador how REAL music was to be played by winning all four games! The sun squad did not get booed off stage but their VIP backstage passes to success were under threat of being revoked from the clean-sweep. One day Team Altador will be that bright burning star of the show that their team logo suggests optimistically.
Is there ice on the moon? No, I didn't think so. Team Kreludor took a heat ray to Team Terror Mountain yesterday as they obtained wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. The mountaineers weren't affected by lunacy, though, as they forced a Draw in Make Some Noise and won Shootout Showdown. Terror Mountain will need more than the Heart of the Mountain to heal their start to the Second Round.
The doom bringers from Team Darigan Citadel reigned pain on Team Kiko Lake as they threw the underdogs in the dungeons and won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Slushie Slinger. The Lakes put their crafting skills to use and picked the lock of their statistics prison to sneak out a Draw in Slushie Slinger. Good work, Kikos!
Reports of spooky goings-on in Moltara came through yesterday as Team Haunted Woods scared Team Moltara out of some wins. The spectral wonders howled their way to victory in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. The Moltarans were shaken but soon returned some Moltaran Magic by forcing a Draw in Make Some Noise. Uh... if someone could wake the commentators from their trance from this spellbinding event, we'd be very grateful!
Team Virtupets were left in pieces after the ninjas from Team Shenkuu dismantled the robots with lightning speed to win Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise respectively. XL Striker 3.8 rebuilt his system in good time for Shootout Showdown as he delivered a perfect win for Dr. Sloth's preferred team. Noodles or wires? Chopsticks beat screwdrivers in this round!
And last but not least, it was a mixed result for Team Faerieland versus Team Mystery Island as Fyora's Fighters fought back! The Islanders spotted weaknesses straight away in the Faeries' Yooyuball and Make Some Noise games, but the Faeries gave them a backhanded slap with a victory in Shootout Showdown and a fair tie in Slushie Slinger. Team Mystery Island did not forecast a cloudy day, that's for sure.
Keep playing for your teams, supporters! This Second Round will make or break your teams' chances in the higher tiers of the tournament. But if you do feel the need for a break, check out our Altador Cup Coverage for all sorts of Altador Cup awesomeness!

'SLOTH WILL BE EATEN BY MEEPITS!'
In our first match, Team Tyrannia swept the field and took home four wins against Team Altador. The sun only drew Neopians into the stadium instead of sending the prehistoric squad home with sunburn.
Team Darigan Citadel really did not want to lose their game and fought for a clean-sweep against Team Shenkuu's ninjas. Although the blow was hard to digest for the ninjas, and the Darigans celebrated happily, there is still time for things to turnaround.
The Kreludorks invaded the scholars' library and zapped all of their scrolls away into dust. Team Kreludor won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Brightvale recovered some of their literature by winning Slushie Slinger.
Team Terror Mountain iced the sea around Team Krawk Island's statistics ship by support game sweeping the pirates. Team Krawk Island crashed their way through the ice by winning the main event of Yooyuball.
The knights fought the Mystery Islanders for dominance on Day 17 and emerged victorious yet again. Team Meridell won Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, whereas the Islanders were only able to secure a Draw in Yooyuball. Overall the Meridellians succeeded brilliantly. The Islanders can still rebound their results though in the Second Round.
Team Roo Island soundly hopped into the stadium and took home wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown against Team Moltara. The Moltarans did what they could and gained a Draw in Make Some Noise.
The two underdogs, Faerieland and Kiko Lake went head-to-head on Day 17 of the tournament and Fyora's Fighters came out on top with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Kiko Lake couldn't stop the magic as they could only gain a Draw in Slushie Slinger.
Team Lost Desert maintained their strong reputation as a Yooyuball squad but let their guard down for the support games, as Team Virtupets soundly swept them in all three support games! Dr. Sloth is pleased with the result.
And finally we come to the mixed results from Team Maraqua and Team Haunted Woods' match, where the spooky squad had an overall win with victories in Yooyuball in Slushie Slinger, but Maraqua fought back for a Draw in Make Some Noise and a win in Shootout Showdown.
Good luck in the Second Round Robin, teams! There is plenty of time left for the results table to be shaken up. Follow our Altador Cup Coverage for the latest tournament updates and goodies from SunnyNeo.

NEWSFLASH!
The results for Day 17 have now been posted! Our match report will be coming soon.
Hi, everyone! SunnyNeo have kindly asked us to do an interview. So we agreed on the terms that we got all the slushies we wanted for the duration of the chat. We're just that cool!
Thank you for joining us today. How does it feel to be back commentating for Altador Cup V?
Disco Ixi: Ah, it's great. I missed the free slushies during lunch breaks.
Red Grarrl: Oh and the egg cress sandwiches are to die for!
Disco Ixi: Oh! But commentating the matches is so much fun. Nothing beats shouting "GOOOAAAALLLLL!" at the top of your voice several times a day, it's such a thrill.
Red Grarrl: Absolutely, I've been practicing my "GOOOAAAALLLLL!" shout all off-season.
Do you often find that you get sore throats from screaming into the microphone every now and again during a match, especially when you talk non-stop?
Red Grarrl: Nyeh... we have voice coaching.
Disco Ixi: I'm thinking of becoming a lead singer in a band to pass the time during the off-season, but it's only a fleeting thought.
Red Grarrl: You can't sing!
Disco Ixi: Shut up, I can dream.
Red Grarrl: Be polite, we're in an interview.
Disco Ixi: Whoops, sorry. Is that off the record?
Interviewer: No.
Disco Ixi: Eh... oh well.
So, as famous Altador Cup Commentators... Do you have your own fans?
Disco Ixi: Yeah we get a lot of fanmail.
Red Grarrl: Once some scary girl sent me an Usuki Doll dressed in commentator gear o_O...
Disco Ixi: I've had weirder... I got mail off Dr. Sloth.
Red Grarrl: What? When?
Disco Ixi: A few years ago. He said; "Keep saying nice things about Team Virtupets and I'll give you a good report." It was weird.
Red Grarrl: I was once mobbed by fans when I was on my way to the food stall.
Disco Ixi: They were thieves, not fans, dude.
Red Grarrl: Oh yeah. My Neopoints went missing that day.
Disco Ixi: *Facepalms*
Do you have favourite teams?
Disco Ixi: We aren't allowed to show bias in our line of work.
Red Grarrl: Yeah, the Altador Cup Committee won't allow us to do that. If we breach our contract we'll have to spend ten days cleaning the stadium. Not my idea of fun.
Disco Ixi: But we're allowed to show bias to slushies.
Red Grarrl: Mmm... slushies.
Have either of you ever tried practicing a game of Yooyuball?
Red Grarrl: Yeah!
Disco Ixi: Ha, you know, we actually have! During our induction week when we first landed the jobs as commentators, we were allowed to practice a game of Yooyuball. This was back in Altador Cup I though when there were less Yooyu types to use, but I was good with the Normal Yooyu.
Red Grarrl: I was better as a Goalkeeper than a Forward player.
Disco Ixi: I rocked as a Forward player!
Red Grarrl: *Unimpressed* You scored against me ONCE.
Disco Ixi: *Pouts* Just ruin my fun.
You both seem to love slushies. Have you played Slushie Slinger before?
Disco Ixi: Gosh no! And spill all of those slushies?!
Red Grarrl: Next question please.
How about Make Some Noise?
Red Grarrl: We're commentators, we ramble enough as it is.
Disco Ixi: Nah, we have no need to partake in Make Some Noise, it's already in our profession by default.
And... Have you ever tried Shootout Showdown?
Disco Ixi: No! That Jelly Chia scares the wits out of me.
Red Grarrl: That Chia has sparkly teeth though, I'll have to have words with his dentist.
Have you ever met the Techo Super-fan before?
Red Grarrl: Uh, yes... we went deaf temporarily. It was back in Altador Cup III.
Disco Ixi: Nice chap, but he never shuts up.
Red Grarrl: Worse than us.
Disco Ixi: Yeah, worse than us.
Red Grarrl: The Techo Super-fan won a competition to come an visit us in the commentator booth. We never did that competition again.
Disco Ixi: Not worth it.
Have you ever met any cool VIPs in your line of work? Any of the top Neopian celebrities?
Red Grarrl: Loads of celebs visit the stadium during the tournament but we've only met a few of them.
Disco Ixi: Like King Altador. He's a cool guy.
Red Grarrl: The Shenkuu Warrior Princess was very charming. She even taught us how to us a grappling hook.
Disco Ixi: We've met the Altador Cup Committee but they're our superiors in our contracts so technically they don't count for us.
Red Grarrl: Hannah the Brave from Krawk Island is a lovely lass. She wouldn't tell us any treasure locations though.
Disco Ixi: Then there was that letter I received from Dr. Sloth...
Red Grarrl: We've met all of the participating teams. They're awesome Neopians.
Disco Ixi: Yeah, we see a lot of VIPs.
Would you ever own a Yooyu as a petpet?
Disco Ixi: I have one! A Normal Yooyu called Roberto. He's a cute little fella.
Red Grarrl: Nah I don't want one. Too stubborn to keep as petpets.
Any words for the Altador Cup Fans before we end this interview?
Red Grarrl: Uh... avoid sitting near the Techo Super-fan. Take earplugs with you just in case you do end up getting a seat next to him.
Disco Ixi: Have fun and give your favourite team some love. You could end up leading them to victory!
Red Grarrl: Don't drink our slushies.
Disco Ixi: Yeah, have all the slushies you want from the Slushie Stand but don't take ours from the lunch room.
Red Grarrl: Our slushies!
Disco Ixi: But yeah... Other than that, long live the Altador Cup! Have a ball.
Thank you, commentators, for your brilliant interview!
See you back in the colosseum, everyone!
Stay up-to-date with the latest tournament stuff in our Altador Cup Coverage for news, guides, goodies and more!
It's the Second Round Robin - do your teams proud!
The Commentator speech bubble images are from our Altador Cup Speech Bubbles page. Now you can have your own little commentaries!
I'm a Normal Yooyu! What about you?
It's such a cliché, but it's true: defence wins championships. For you to win ten Yooyuball matches and not give up a single goal, especially this time of year... that's being clutch when it counts.
1st Place – Team Lost Desert
Team Lost Desert is currently ranked in First Place! Their fierce and no nonesense approach has paid off for the desert squad, meaning that they are soundly heading for the gold trophy. The question is; how long can they maintain this position? They have done an incredible job so far in the First Round Robin. Left Forward, Vonde Cayle, is currently ranked in fifth place in the Top Goal Scorers list! The TNT staff member who is representing Team Lost Desert in TNT's Staff Tournament is Dirigibles.
2nd Place – Team Darigan Citadel
Team Darigan Citadel is currently ranked in Second Place! The Darigans are making the comeback they have always dreamt of after falling victim to the "winner's curse" after Altador Cup II and hovered around the Seventh Place mark for a couple of years. Now they seem to be Top Four contenders once more. Team Captain, Left Forward, Layton Vickles, is currently ranked in first place in the Top Goal Scorer list! The TNT staff member who is representing Team Darigan Citadel in TNT's Staff Tournament is Ziggytron.
3rd Place – Team Kreludor
Team Kreludor is currently ranked in Third Place! The Kreludorks maintain that they are a powerhouse team and are demonstrating that well. No more taunting, more results, they say! Left Forward, Qlydae Wegg, is currently ranked in third place in the Top Goal Scorers list! The TNT staff member who is representing Team Kreludor in TNT's Staff Tournament is Undutchable.
4th Place – Team Meridell
Team Meridell is currently ranked in Fourth Place! The knights have been determined to prove that they are Top Four material for a long time and they have shown that potential in the First Round Robin this year. Team Captain, Centre Forward, "Wizard" Windelle, is currently ranked in sixth place in the Top Goal Scorers list! Sadly there is no TNT staff member to represent Team Meridell in TNT's Staff Tournament this year.
5th Place – Team Maraqua
Team Maraqua is currently ranked in Fifth Place! The Maraquans are determined to inch into the Top Four and might just stand a chance if they maintain this good progress. Their Team Captain might be the team's undoing, though, if he does not learn how to share the glory with his teammates. Team Captain, Centre Forward, Elon "The Black Hole" Hughlis, is currently ranked in ninth place in the Top Goal Scorers list! Sadly there is no TNT staff member to represent Team Maraqua in TNT's Staff Tournament this year.
6th Place – Team Roo Island
Team Roo Island is currently ranked in Sixth Place! The Rooligans have had an enjoyable First Round Robin and are making a great comeback from falling into Ninth Place last year. Opponents will ROO the day faced Roo Island, right? (And the puns live on...) Unfortunately there are no players from Team Roo Island in the Top Goal Scorers list at this time as none of them qualify in the Top Ten yet. The TNT staff member who is representing Team Roo Island in TNT's Staff Tournament is Socktastic.
7th Place – Team Virtupets
Team Virtupets is currently ranked in Seventh Place! The Virtupets squad, Dr. Sloth's favourites, have really made a name for themselves this year as they have incredibly jumped from underdog status to potential champion status! Many believe that this is due to an upgrade of the Robot players' software. Either way, something is working well for them. Left Forward, XL Striker 3.8, is currently ranked in second place in the Top Goal Scorers list! The TNT staff member who is representing Team Virtupets in TNT's Staff Tournament is Snarkie.
8th Place – Team Krawk Island
Team Krawk Island is currently ranked in Eigth Place! After winning First Place last year, the Krawkstars have certainly fallen under the "winner's curse" but do not seem to be doing too badly. A lot of drama has occurred when replacement player Feldon "Dinksy" Collibridge could not participate, bringing ex-captain "Dasher" Soley back into the game. Garven Hale stepped up as the new Team Captain... Can Team Krawk Island counteract the curse? Unfortunately there are no players from Team Krawk Island in the Top Goal Scorers list at this time as none of them qualify in the Top Ten yet. The TNT staff member who is representing Team Krawk Island in TNT's Staff Tournament is Viola.
9th Place – Team Shenkuu
Team Shenkuu is currently ranked in Ninth Place! As the Second Place winners of Altador Cup IV, the ninjas have been labelled as the "favourite to win" this year as each Second Place winner of the past tournaments have escalated to First Place the following year. Team Shenkuu are not your average powerhouse like Lost Desert or Darigan Citadel as their inconsistencies give them the element of surprise. Sitting smack-bang in the middle of the current standings table is not as dire as it may appear at the moment, but can they "Pull A Shenkuu" this time to save themselves a place in the Top Four? Team Captain, Left Forward, Mirsha Grelinek, is currently ranked in fourth place in the Top Goal Scorers list! The TNT staff member who is representing Team Shenkuu in TNT's Staff Tournament is Bancha Ninja.
10th Place – Team Haunted Woods
Team Haunted Woods is currently ranked in Tenth Place! The winners of the gold trophy in the first ever Altador Cup have not recovered fully from the "winner's curse" just yet as their current standings suggest. The TNT staff member who is representing Team Terror Mountain in TNT's Staff Tournament is Dragona.

Can their Heroes save them? Either way they are showing progress. Unfortunately there are no players from Team Altador in the Top Goal Scorers list at this time as none of them qualify in the Top Ten yet. The TNT staff member who is representing Team Altador in TNT's Staff Tournament is El Picklesaur.
17th Place – Team Faerieland
Team Faerieland is currently ranked in Seventeenth Place! The Faerielanders are not in last place! Regardless of this current rank, it looks like the start of great things to come. They have the power pending to be used, all they need is the right spark to get going. Unfortunately there are no players from Team Faerieland in the Top Goal Scorers list at this time as none of them qualify in the Top Ten yet. The TNT staff member who is representing Team Faerieland in TNT's Staff Tournament is Pie.
18th Place – Team Moltara
Team Moltara is currently ranked in Eighteenth Place! The newcomers from Moltara are struggling to learn the standard methods involved in the Altador Cup. Towards the end of the First Round Robin the Moltarans have started to grasp wins in the support games. Maybe they are now getting the hang of it! Unfortunately there are no players from Team Moltara in the Top Goal Scorers list at this time as none of them qualify in the Top Ten yet. The TNT staff member who is representing Team Moltara in TNT's Staff Tournament is SeñorMalo.
Sorry for the delay in the report! There was a horde of rogue Yooyus followed by a small army of Tandrak Shaye fangirls that prevented this article from reaching the press. How very dare they!

Scare your friends "speechless".
The Kreludorks said “no more” as they took a broom to the beaches of Team Mystery Island and almost swept their entire beach away by taking wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Islanders kept their cool, though, and threw slushies at the moon until they won the support game Slushie Slinger. This puts Kreludor in a stronger position.
Team Faerieland used a bit of faeriedust yesterday to soundly take a glorious win in Yooyuball! Their opponents, Team Terror Mountain, did not melt under the radiant glow of the Faerieland Fighters and won all three of the support games. Who will emerge victorious against their adversaries today?
The Virtupets squad took no prisoners against Team Shenkuu when they crushed the ninjas with a win in Yooyuball. The Shenkuu squad did not back away though and settled for wins in Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown to compensate against Team Virtupets’ victory.
Team Haunted Woods went up against Team Tyrannia yesterday and fell into the typical Tyrannia trap that awaits most teams when they come along. It was a support game sweep in favour of the prehistoric squad but the ethereal team seized the all-important Yooyuball win. Krell Vitor of the Haunted Woods is not worried about this result.
Old rivals faced-off yesterday in the form of Team Krawk Island versus Team Roo Island. The Rooligans know no fear and took an overall win by becoming victorious in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown plus taking a Draw in Slushie Slinger. The pirates had the rowdiest fans, though, and stole the win in Make Some Noise (all of those noisy nights in the Golden Dubloon are paying off for them!).
A surprising result in the Team Meridell versus Team Lost Desert match where those classic knights joyfully took a perfect win in Yooyuball and Drew in the support game Shootout Showdown. The Lost Desert squad did not lose themselves in their own tomb and found their way back to the surface with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.
The plucky Kikos took on the fearsome gladiators yesterday and ended up with a mixed result. Team Altador secured the win in Yooyuball (quite fitting for the namesakes of the tournament) and settled for a Draw in Shootout Showdown. Team Kiko Lake held their own and fought back with victories in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Not a bad day.
Powerhouses clashed in the form of Team Darigan Citadel and Team Maraqua much to the entertainment of fans, and both teams took two wins each. Team Maraqua had the last laugh by winning Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, but the Darigans redeemed themselves with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. An ocean cannot sink a floating citadel, it seems.
Finally we come to the Team Moltara versus Team Brightvale scuffle where the Moltarans are definitely starting to recover! It must be that new manager of theirs giving them better guidance. That better guidance led Team Moltara to take some more support game wins, this time in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The scholars from Brightvale took the overall win, though, by seizing Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger; A clean split down the middle for the games to each opponent.
Good luck in your final matches of the First Round Robin, everyone! Go out with a bang. And maybe you can catch up with our Altador Cup Coverage when you have a moment; we have plenty going on here at SunnyNeo that would make King Altador and the Altador Cup Committee proud!
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo’s Altador Cup Customisation Overview guide. There are so many clothes to choose from to support the Altador Cup!

Team Shenkuu is the "Forest Sky Team" according to the rough translation... how poetic!
Ninjas invaded the pirate ship yesterday and embarked in a battle of epic proportions! Everybody was Shenkuu fighting, fast as lightning, as the pirates weighed anchor and clashed weapons – the classic ninjas versus pirates scenario, but who emerged victorious in the stadium yesterday? Well… This typical rivalry ended with a record-shattering… DRAW? Yes, an overall Draw for Team Shenkuu and Team Krawk Island as both teams received a tie in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, whereas Make Some Noise went to the ninjas and Shootout Showdown went to the pirates. The commentators could be heard over the roar of fans, saying, “Well, I guess the bet’s off then. An overall tie for the competitors. That was anticlimatic by all means!” Captains Garven Hale and Mirsha Grelinek of the opposing squads could only shrug at the end of the match with Garven stating, “Should’ve seen this comin’. Neither of us wanted to lose, so none of us did.” Mirsha laughed, “There is so much emphasis on our rivalry that this overall Draw is a sign of karma at work. We both wanted superiority, and we got equality instead. A fair result.”
It was a mirrored situation in the Team Roo Island versus Team Maraqua match, where they both received a Draw in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, with the Maraquans seizing Make Some Noise and the Rooligans gained a win in Shootout Showdown. Both teams have been showing strength these past weeks and although an overall tie was unexpected, their next competitors will face their mighty prowess. King Roo from Roo Island stated, “ROO have got to be kidding me. A tie? Well, we aren’t doing as terROObly as last year, I can tell you that now!” Ah, the puns. Elon Hughlis is still on resentful terms with his ex-player, Jair Tollet, who has been with Team Roo Island for four years after she left Team Maraqua Post- Altador Cup I. Elon scowled, “I never did take her thunder in Altador Cup I. She left on stupid terms.” To which Jair later retorted, “Elon is selfish, and I could not work with a selfish Captain. At least Lilo knows how to give credit where it’s due.” I guess those two teams won’t be seeing eye-to-eye in a long time to come if they can’t make up after so many years.
It was the tranquil lakes against the overpowering citadel yesterday, as Team Kiko Lake were swept across the board in all four games. The Darigans had their strategy all figured out against the Lakes and exploited any weaknesses in their tactics that made themselves known. Kiko Lake were not disheartened by this result, as Erli Quinnock said, “We’ll get our own back in the Second Round. That’s when the real fun will begin.” Team Darigan Citadel aren’t frightened by this taunt at all. In fact, Captain Layton Vickles is amused, “Ha! That’s cute. I don’t think they will, but I admire their optimism.”
Team Mystery Island also achieved a clean-sweep yesterday as Team Altador fell to the might of the tiki tack squad. The gladiators have yet to learn how to ride the surf to success but reportedly put up a good battle against them. Volgoth, Mystery Island’s Team Captain, stated that the sun squad were no match for the great will of Mumbo Pango. Timu from Team Altador shook her head when she heard that statement, “It will not be long before our Heroes of Altador send us their blessings. We will not be crushed, we will not surrender, and we will laugh in the face of anyone who taunts us!”
It was the desert versus the clouds yesterday as Team Lost Desert clogged Team Faerieland’s strategy with a blinding sandstorm. The Lost Desert slipped in and took home four wins, leaving the Faerielanders rubbing their eyes, wondering what had just happened. Captain Leera Heggle chuckled, “Team Faerieland have been doing well this year, no disrespect to them at all, but they honestly never stood a chance against the raw power of the Lost Desert! For King Coltzan and our people!” Delma Harrence of Team Faerieland rubbed her neck and sighed, “They won fairly but we are not done yet. We will not come last place again. We have been training hard and will succeed. Queen Fyora has our backs.”
Team Moltara have finally got their support games under control as they gained two wins yesterday against Team Virtupets! The Virtupets squad came out as the overall winners with victories in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown but Moltara rallied and got the Steampunk strategy working to claim wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Captain Keetra Deile from Virtupets congratulated the Moltarans, “Whew! They definitely did rise to the challenge, no mistake there. Dr. Sloth may not be impressed but it shows that the new team are learning how to play the tournament properly now.” The Steampunk Squad could have taken offence to that remark, but have decided to celebrate instead. Zax Bennet from Moltara was heard praising his teams’ fans. “Many thanks to our fans for securing those wins, we really needed the support, we will do our best to make you proud too.”
The knights gave the lunar squad a sound “seeing to” as they laid siege on Team Kreludor to claim wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. The Kreludorks retaliated against the Team Meridell offence and apprehended wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown instead. A clean split down the middle of the games. Fiorina from Meridell commented, “When will Neopians learn that old fashioned ways are the most effective in battle? It all applies to Altador Cup games too… but no one listens. Oh well, the victory is ours! Their loss.” Team Captain, Derlyn Fonnet of Kreludor scoffed, “Meridell are stuck in a time loop. If they want to defeat us in the next Round they will need to get with the times. Kreludan technology rules!”
Now this was an interesting match as Team Tyrannia clashed with Team Terror Mountain, given that they had traded players Evrem Guilako to Terror Mountain and Elbin Kroe to Tyrannia. The Tyrannians held nothing back as they forced a Draw in Yooyuball and took home wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Shootout Showdown went to the more dexterous Team Captain, Prytariel, who won one for the mountaineers. Prytariel later said, “We hold no hard feelings to Team Tyrannia. Our player transfers were done on mutual terms and it has worked in our favour thus far. Same with Tyrannia.” Captain Loryche of Tyrannia says, “Elbin is a great player, he has been an asset to our team.”
And last but not least we come to the Team Brightvale versus Team Haunted Woods match. The Haunted Woods almost swept the Brighvalians yesterday, taking three wins (in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown). Not stopping, the only way for Brightvale to redeem themselves was in Slushie Slinger, which ended in a Draw. “No, we are not slacking off!” An offended “Squeaky” Tressif from Team Brighvale gasped as one reporter approached him with the question of lax performance. “King Hagan will hear about this. Our team has just hit a rough patch, that’s all. We’ll be back on form soon.” Zo Junior from the Haunted Woods laughed, “He’s just annoyed because he didn’t win. They did okay, but we were quicker. Sorry, Brightvale.”

In our first match-up, Team Meridell started dancing on the Slushie Slinger tables of Team Tyrannia’s statistics and merrily sang home wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise! The Tyrannians were forced to retain their pride by dragging back a win in Shootout Showdown. The support game-heavy Tyrannia seem to be losing their footing. Let’s just hope it’s a ruse.
Yarrg, the pirates fought against the sun yesterday as sunlight glinted menacingly off their steel blades. But these pirates are good at what they do and sent Team Altador to the depths by taking wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Krawk Island only managed to fend for a Draw in Slushie Slinger as the Altadorians figured enough was enough.
Moonlight penetrated the ocean depths as Team Kreludor went head-to-head with Team Maraqua, ending in a mixed result. The lunar squad secured and took home a Draw in Slushie Slinger and a win in Make Some Noise but Maraqua had the overall win with Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown to boast. The fans had quite a show!
Team Lost Desert were tripped up by Team Roo Island’s cunning as the Rooligans forced a Draw in Yooyuball and won Shootout Showdown. Team Lost Desert redeemed themselves by taking home Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The desert squad have not been deterred as they remain at the top of the league table but the Rooligans can pack one heck of a punch when they want to!
The Team Mystery Island versus Team Brightvale match was almost a clean split down the middle, with Yooyuball as the decider. The Mystery Islanders took the overall win by emerging victorious in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise but the Brightvalians managed to pull themselves back up by winning Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Maybe those pens need to be traded in for cooking pots.
Ah, this was a brutal but pleasant match to watch as Team Darigan Citadel rounded on their gentle adversaries from Team Faerieland. Generally the Darigans haven’t had any problems with the Faerielanders and whether it was some spurt of respect for one another, the ending result was not disastrous for any of them. The Darigans retained their dominance by winning the main event of Yooyuball and the support game Make Some Noise. Team Faerieland valiantly rose to the challenge and snagged Draws in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. “It was a nice match.” Tandrak Shaye from Team Darigan Citadel commented as he approached the press. “Faerieland have definitely improved their practice sessions. If they keep this up they could see themselves out of the lower ranks!”
On the other hand, Team Shenkuu were buried in a snowdrift yesterday as Team Terror Mountain made statement wins in Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Shenkuu remained dominant in Yooyuball but are chilled by the results. Terror Mountain are freezing their competitors in their paths, leaving Shenkuu to rethink their strategy once again. That being said, they could still be contenders for the Cup, it will just take some more cunning.
Team Haunted Woods scared the life out of Team Moltara as they were the next team to clean-sweep the Moltarans. Team Captain Aldric Beign of Moltara won’t deny that his team needs to learn more in the ways of the tournament, but it is a large learning curve and maybe by the Second Round Robin they will be able to take some wins home to make their families proud.
Finally, there was the Team Virtupets versus Team Kiko Lake match, where Virtupets are still trying to establish powerhouse status and Kiko Lake are refusing to return to underdog status. Dr. Sloth’s favourite squad were too strong for the Kikos and came out with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Lakes weren’t fazed too much by this as they spotted a weakness and won Slushie Slinger.
That concludes our match report for Day 14 of the tournament. Remember that there will be a break in the match schedule on June 12th where you will still be able to earn team points but your team will not be against any opponents that day. For other fun stuff about the Altador Cup, keep following our Altador Cup Coverage!
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo’s Shootout Showdown guide… Who doesn’t want to throw those Yooyus at that laughing Chia goalie?!
Hey! I heard that. *Watches a Yooyu go into the net* Fine, you win.
This game could have gone either way as Team Terror Mountain took on Team Kiko Lake. The poor Kikos ended up trapped beneath a sheet of solid ice as Terror Mountain’s squad ploughed themselves four clear wins! “They had us cornered.” Team Captain “Poke” Cellers commented, wiping her forehead with the back of her hand. “Team Terror Mountain performed shockingly, although a clean-sweep against us was undesirable, they did put in a lot of effort.”
The knights raided Neopia’s core yesterday as Team Meridell entered the fray with Team Moltara, taking the Steampunk Squad by surprise. As quick as they entered, the Meridellians left victorious with a clean-sweep! Team Moltara are doing their best to remain optimistic but they have much to accustom to in the ways of the tournament.
Team Krawk Island had to trade their sea ship for a spaceship as they brawled it out with Team Virtupets yesterday, but it was worth the voyage as the pirates left with the loot. “Aye, us pirates don’t like bein’ outwitted by robots… So less than a clean-sweep wouldn’t ‘ave sufficed.” And a clean-sweep they did take – yarrg!
Neopia’s moon tried to cast a spell of lunacy upon the Darigan Citadel, but Team Kreludor could not beat the power of the orb. Team Darigan Citadel resisted by taking wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The Kreludans redeemed themselves with a victory in Shootout Showdown.
Team Faerieland prevented themselves from being swept by Team Shenkuu yesterday as Team Captain Kakoni Worrill focused all of his energy into winning Shootout Showdown. A Faerieland fan said, “Yay! I knew he could do it!” Team Shenkuu held their pride by becoming the overall winners with victories in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.
The Rooligans really aren’t letting anything stop them this year! Team Roo Island faced-off the support game-heavy Team Tyrannia and casually strolled in to take wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Captain Loryche from Team Tyrannia gaped. “That was stunning. Team Roo Island managed to best us in the support games. Well played!” Team Tyrannia still had avid concert-goers in the stands as their fans rallied home a win in Make Some Noise for them.
Pens won’t work underwater as the Petpet Protection League insist time and time again and yesterdays result just proves that. Team Maraqua soundly defeated Team Brightvale in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The scholars managed to recover a pencil just in time to scribble a win in Slushie Slinger.
The sun burned high across the scorching desert but was blocked out by a cloud of sand in the sky. Team Lost Desert took wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, leaving Team Altador to fight for a Draw in Slushie Slinger. Lyvon Cibaire from Team Altador insists that a Draw was hard-fought for against a powerhouse like Lost Desert.
And finally Team Mystery Island went up against Team Haunted Woods where Island Mystic Magic went against the Dark Arts yesterday. The spooks had the upper-hand as they won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. Not to be outdone, Team Mystery Island did the limbo and forced Draws in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.

On June 10th, TNT's Altador Cup Staff Tournament will begin!
On June 12th, we have our first break in the Altador Cup schedule (where you can still play games but there will be no opponents that day) to mark the end of the First Round Robin. The Second Round Robin will begin on June 13th.
Team Krawk Island made a pit stop as they challenged Team Tyrannia to a face-off. The Krawkstars won Yooyuball against the Rockstars but Tyrannia remained true to themselves by taking wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Make Some Noise ended with a very loud tie.
The Kreludans analysed the mountain as Team Kreludor rounded on Team Terror Mountain. The lunar squad took an overall win by seizing Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. Disallowing them to continue their hike, Terror Mountain blocked their opponents off by winning Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.
Team Virtupets soared ahead of the scholars by annihilating them in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown – almost a full sweep! The Brightvalians regained their footing by taking a win in Slushie Slinger. Team Brightvale will need to rethink their tactics the next time they face Virtupets.
Team Moltara are really starting to feel the sting as Team Kiko Lake pulled off a flawless clean-sweep against the Steampunk Squad. With a brand new manager set to start next week, can the Moltarans recover from this system malfunction in their statistics?
Team Lost Desert could not match the might of the citadel as Team Darigan Citadel won Yooyuball and Drew in Slushie Slinger yesterday. Not to be completely defeated, Team Lost Desert gladly took home wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.
Not a great day for Team Altador as they were swept away by Team Haunted Woods yesterday. The spooky squad very happily left the field with four victories! The sun will need to up the temperature to get back on their feet.
The knights of Meridell tried to storm Roo Island’s castle yesterday but were in for a surprise. Team Roo Island were waiting for them and took wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Rooligans Drew with Team Meridell in Yooyuball but the knights wanted to come home with a victory in something so they seized Slushie Slinger to compensate for the loss.
Team Faerieland took on Team Maraqua and avoided being swept away by the currents by securing a Draw in Slushie Slinger. The Maraquans didn’t have their heads in the clouds as they won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.
In our last match, Team Mystery Island versed Team Shenkuu. The ninjas soundly took wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise whereas the Islanders were able to force Draws in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Is there a change in the tides on the horizon?
The Altador Cup Committee would like to thank the supporters for attending their annual event and hope to continue delivering a wonderful service for the fanatics for the rest of the season. Follow our Altador Cup Coverage for all the latest happenings in the tournament.
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo’s Altador Cup Tournament Rules page: A reminder of the tournament structure and general FAQs of the competition that the Committee have agreed upon in the colosseum.
Let’s begin with a momentus match where Team Lost Desert made the mistake of crossing paths with Team Mystery Island and lost Yooyuball! Shocking? A little bit, but no team is invincible after all. The Mystery Islanders held a huge feast (of fruit) afterwards in celebration of the victory. Team Lost Desert redeemed themselves with a support game sweep.
King Kelpbeard and Captain Scarblade watched this match keenly yesterday as nemesis squads Team Maraqua clashed with Team Krawk Island. Maraqua have been pretty resilient by protecting and rebuilding their home under the sea, whereas Krawk Island pirates have been very efficient at destroying the subterranean settlement. Good thing for King Kelpbeard that Team Maraqua fended off the pirates by winning Yooyuball and taking a Draw in Slushie Slinger but not ones to go down without a battle, the pirates emerged victorious in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Captain Scarblade promises a “visit” to Maraqua in the near future (no doubt bringing cannons and crew).
The sun was no contest for the ominous floating citadel as Team Darigan Citadel cast a huge shadow over Team Altador by taking a clean-sweep! Captain Layton Vickles of Darigan Citadel says, “Who are we facing next?” Team Altador won’t take that comment lying down and vouch to do better in the next face-off.
Team Tyrannia more or less already had a support game sweep ready for Team Moltara by default yesterday, but it was the final blow to the Moltarans when the prehistoric squad won Yooyuball as well. Morale is quite low for Moltara right now but it seems that they are interviewing potential new managers right this minute for possible better prospects.
Well, Kakoni Worrill (Faerieland’s Team Captain) wasn’t expecting a fantastic result when Team Faerieland took on Team Haunted Woods yesterday, but they were disappointed when the spooks swept them in all four matches. In Kakoni’s defence, he did gasp, “That zombie is dangerous! Poor Ciona was almost eaten by that monster!” Captain Krell Vitor argues that his new player “Brains” Mortigan should not be discriminated against for his supernatural instincts. “Apologies to Team Faerieland,” Krell began calmly after the game, “But Brains cannot be held responsible for trying to eat brains. It is his natural food source. We have hired a hypnotist to try and deal with the issue but zombies will be zombies.”
The moon cast a bright glow over the lake as Team Kreludor outshone Team Kiko Lake in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Kikos prevented Kreludor from sweeping them by locking them in a Draw (no, a game tie, not a chest of drawers!) in Slushie Slinger. “Kreludor maybe strong but we fought back okay. A Draw is better than losing all four games!” Captain “Poke” Cellers of Kiko Lake remarked with a sigh.
The stealthy ninjas took on the schooled scholars when Team Shenkuu fought against Team Brightvale for superiority. Brightvale have become an overnight powerhouse this year by winning most of their matches, and aware of Shenkuu’s victory of Yooyuball against Team Kreludor the other day, the scholars pulled out all the stops and played like there was no tomorrow yesterday. Strictly speaking, that revved-up attitude should have gained Team Brightvale an easy sweep, but the ninjas are back on form and rose to the challenge against them, raising morale once more. Shenkuu seized wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown whilst Brightvale forced a Draw in Make Some Noise and secured a win in Slushie Slinger. Both teams congratulated one another after the match as both put in an immense amount of effort.
With a hop and a skip and a tra-la-la… Team Roo Island took an overall win yesterday by snagging wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Team Virtupets initiated “Operation Stop Sweep” by forcing a Draw in Slushie Slinger and taking a win in Make Some Noise. Whilst the Rooligans are blissfully advancing in the tournament, Dr. Sloth warned Team Virtupets that their objective is to win the Altador Cup, not to be defeated. Captain Keetra Deile of Virtupets says that her team is fine and that XL Striker 3.8 needs a bit of maintenance, that’s all!
Finally there was the Team Meridell versus Team Terror Mountain match where the knights were able to conquer the icy mountain by winning Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Terror Mountain froze Team Meridell in their armour by snapping wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. A fifty-fifty split but Meridell’s Yooyuball victory gave them the overall win.
Now to find those throat lozenges… Stay in the loop with our Altador Cup Coverage which has all sorts of cool stuff about Altador Cup V.

And don't forget you can get other support graphics on our Altador Cup Goodies page.
If anyone knows how to flip a coin or dice to their advantage it’s Team Roo Island who took on the blazing sun of Team Altador. The Rooligans are so content with their sound progress in the ranks that they took over the Yurble cleaner’s job and swept the opposition in all four games! Congratulations, Rooligans! Altador held a meeting last night… a possible rebound against the next team they face?
Most people expected Team Brightvale to pull off a clean-sweep against Team Faerieland and they almost did… except that the Faerielanders had another idea in mind. Fyora’s Fighters rallied and pulled off an amazing win in Shootout Showdown. Although they did not win overall, it was an inspiring moment.
Poor Moltara, as hard as they tried this does not seem to be a great debut year for them. Even though they have been treading water, the current top powerhouse Team Lost Desert blew them away in a sandstorm taking a clean-sweep. The Moltarans still have time to rally and boost their current rank, but that time window will only be open until the end of the Second Round Robin. Can they do it?
It was the great big ocean versus the tranquil lakes yesterday when Team Maraqua versed Team Kiko Lake in a subterranean war. Sadly for the Kikos that battle for superiority was handed to the strong currents of Maraqua who took wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Kiko Lake managed to grip on and forced a Draw in Slushie Slinger.
Arch-rivals Team Kreludor and Team Shenkuu went head-to-head yesterday in what felt like a game not to miss! Shenkuu were not expected to do particularly well, given their current standings, but the ninjas executed a perfect Yooyuball win against the lunar squad. Team Captain Mirsha Grelinek of Shenkuu says, “It’s not over yet!” The Kreludorks remained steadfast and seized wins in Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Coco Metrone from Kreludor stated that their team is still going strong.
The knights stormed the space station yesterday as Team Meridell upset Team Virtupets’ statistics by taking wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. The Virtupets supporters cheered on their favourite team on to match the knights’ battle cry and resulted in a Make Some Noise Draw. Meridell are on the upwards swing!
The Haunted Woods team took an overall win yesterday as they won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger against Team Terror Mountain. Wen Dirx from Haunted Woods was evidently still annoyed with their new player “Brains” Mortigan for randomly giving away his Spooky Treasure Map to passersby the other day. “Seriously, that zombie is out to ruin me!” He exclaimed in outrage from the betrayal. Terror Mountain thawed themselves out by taking a Draw in Make Some Noise and they claimed a decent win in Shootout Showdown.
The pirates targeted Mystery Island yesterday to take home some loot for Krawk Island’s statistics cove. The Mystery squad defended their island by Drawing in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger but the pirates out-witted them with wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Ex-Captain “Dasher” Soley said, “Aye, just another day on th’ job.”
Finally we come to the Darigan Citadel versus Team Tyrannia match that saw the minions of Lord Darigan grasp an overall win! Tyrannia’s support game sweep was stopped short when the Darigans Drew in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The prehistoric squad took a win in Slushie Slinger (no surprises there) whereas the Darigans finished them off with the ultimate win in Yooyuball.
Altador Cup V is too exciting to miss! SunnyNeo keeps you up-to-date with the latest happenings and goodies in our Altador Cup Coverage.
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo’s Altador Cup V Achievements Guide, informing you about TNT’s latest tournament treats for your efforts in the Altador Cup.
Let’s leap straight into the biggest clash of the titans when Team Kreludor went head-to-head with Team Lost Desert in one of the loudest matches so far in the First Round Robin. The Kreludans had an awkward time against King Coltzan’s squad as they clung on for dear life by executing a win in Shootout Showdown. Team Captain, Leera Heggle of the Lost Desert, summoned all of that Sakhmetian power to explode Kreludor’s statistics rocket by winning Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The Kreludorks are disappointed but are determined to get their own back in the Second Round!
Next we come to the match where Team Kiko Lake faced off Team Haunted Woods in what ended with a mixed result. The spooks managed to claim firm wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise but the referee had to declare a Draw in Slushie Slinger because both teams were too close to call. Kiko Lake held their ground by snagging a win in Shootout Showdown.
NEWS FLASH! “Brains” Mortigan from Team Haunted Woods was reportedly spotted this morning handing out pieces of a Spooky Treasure Map to unsuspecting supporters (of any team apparently). Captain Krell Vitor had to detain him before their match this morning to tell him off. Later, screams from their Right Defender (Wan Dirx) could be heard from the locker room along the lines of; “OH SWEET TOMBSTONES! YOU GAVE AWAY MY MAP?! NOOOO!”
Anyone who missed this match is probably regretting it as Team Meridell and Team Shenkuu locked in an epic battle to the finish. Both sides were ready for one another and the Meridellians had grown tired of invasions after their loss to Team Krawk Island the other day. Ilsa Ellits, Meridell’s Centre Defender, said; “The ninjas came immediately after the pirates. We had enough and used whatever force we could muster to fend them off.” And she was right to say so because Shenkuu and Meridell could not seem to best one another despite increasing the intensity of their retaliations! A Draw was finally declared in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The ninjas only just managed an overall win by dominating Slushie Slinger. Needless to say, both teams were on fire yesterday!
Team Virtupets (one of the leading contenders for the Cup) took on Darigan Citadel yesterday to prove to them that they still have the power to win Yooyuball. Shootout Showdown was a close call as Darigan’s Team Captain Layton Vickles was able to match Virtupets’ XL Striker 3.8 in an intense quick fire round. Unfortunately, not all the technology in the world could prevent Team Darigan taking an overall win by becoming victorious in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.
Not a bad day for the pirates as they navigated around Team Brightvale’s storm to claim wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. The Brightvalians did not let Team Krawk Island get hold of their slushies as they threw them faster than the bucanneers could see – a victory for Brightvale in Slushie Slinger. Both squads were feeling rowdy and ended up with a tie in Make Some Noise. Overall Team Krawk Island won the face-off.
Team Faerieland took on the happy-go-lucky Rooligans in what ended up as a win for Team Roo Island. Queen Fyora had made a glorious trip to Altador to grace her team with words of encouragement for the rest of the season. It was not enough to enable Faerieland to gain a win yesterday, but they valiantly managed to submit Team Roo Island to a tie in Slushie Slinger.
The Altadorian sun rose slowly above the sparkling landscapes of Terror Mountain yesterday… It was too cold for the sun to melt the ice though as Team Terror Mountain snowboarded a few flawless wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. In an ironic twist, Team Altador seized a win in Slushie Slinger. The mountaineers have decided to “let it slide” as they were the overall winners anyway.
This almost could have been predicted in Neopians’ sleep as Team Tyrannia once again proved that they are the reigning champions of the support games! When they took on Team Maraqua yesterday, anything could have happened because the Maraquans are a tough team to tame, but the Tyrannians took wins in Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown with no questions asked. The Maraquans kept their pride by winning Yooyuball but it was not enough to win the match overall.
Finally we arrive at the Team Moltara versus Team Mystery Island match where Neopia’s core temperature could not stop Techo Mountain’s magma flooding their engineering. The Moltarans are really struggling in their debut year but were able to Draw in Slushie Slinger against the Islanders. Mystery Island saw no contest though and gratefully accepted wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.
That sums up our report of Day 9 in the competition. Keep up-to-date with our Altador Cup Coverage as we watch the story unfold.
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo’s Make Some Noise Guide… Learning how to take down the Techo Super-fan is a skill in itself!
Altador Cup! - So far this year has been quite exciting with some teams rising quickly and others struggling to keep up. If you haven't already joined a team you might want to join quick so that you can help out your favourite team! Also don't forget the Altador Cup NC Challenge, there is a game ticket on sale now in the NC Mall. |
If you still have a problem deciding which team you want to join, why not try our quiz for suggestions?
Yooyus are awesome and you know it!
Reminder! On the 10th June TNT Staff Tournament voting will begin. There will also be the first Altador Cup break on the 12th June (the next Round will begin on the 13th June) between Round Robins although you will apparently be able to earn team points duing the tournament breaks.
Our first match of yesterday’s line-up shows that Team Shenkuu was able to regain their footing on the mountain of statistics as they outshone Team Altador in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, taking three wins! The Altadorian sun retaliated by sending a bright glare of misfortune on the ninjas with their uphill struggle as the gladiators Drew in Slushie Slinger. Many were expecting Team Altador to dominate the support games, but it will take more than this result to shade the sun out of the competition.
Team Moltara are doing everything in their power to avoid clean-sweeps counting against them as the engineers took on the lunar powerhouse, Team Kreludor. The Kreludans were aiming to clean-sweep their opponents with ease but were stopped short as Moltara gripped on tight to gain a Draw in Slushie Slinger. Moltara’s Left Defender, Vere Polnicek, said the fans should be proud of this achievement. “It’s not a lot but we weren’t swept! Thank you.”
It was the nightmare of the seas versus the knights of the kingdom when Team Krawk Island tried to pillage Team Meridell’s statistics settlement. The Meridellians held the fort by securing a win in the main event, Yooyuball, but despite their efforts the pirates had too much fire power making it difficult to defeat them. Led by Team Captain Garven Hale, the pirates equalled the knights with a tie in Slushie Slinger, but forced their opponents to retreat when they won Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.
Blizzards were forecast yesterday in Darigan Citadel as a Northern Chill from Terror Mountain iced over the Citadel’s chances of a victory when their Altador Cup result practically amounted to an overall Draw. Team Darigan Citadel wrapped up well to take a win in Yooyuball but were chilled when Team Terror Mountain Drew against them in Slushie Slinger, further progressing to win both Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. No one messes with Mother Nature this season!
Team Faerieland had a hard time against Team Virtupets as the space station squad conducted a full clean-sweep against the Faerieland Fighters. Captain Kakoni Worrill from Faerieland said that it was kind of hard levelling with an opponent who had the current leading Top Goal Scorer! Dr. Sloth approves of this clean-sweep and has taken pity on Team Virtupets, claiming he won’t tax their income by 90% and has reduced it to 85%. How considerate of him…
Team Haunted Woods found themselves trapped in Team Lost Desert's tomb as the Lost Desert squad managed to confuse the Haunties in a network of enigmatic chambers. As the sands of time ran out for the Haunted Woods team, the Lost Desert force achieved a full clean-sweep against their opponents. Caught in the sands of result disappointment, the Haunted Woods squad are starting to wish they had brought a shovel to dig themselves out of this predicament.
Team Mystery Island took on their underwater neighbours from Team Maraqua in a bid to fish up a victory yesterday. The Maraquans are used to defending home and pride in many senses of the words and forced a Draw in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. They then continued to flood Mystery Island’s shore of statistics by claiming wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown.
Team Roo Island are keen to do well this year as they won the games of Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown yesterday. Although their opponents, Team Kiko Lake, lost overall they honed their skills to take a respectable victory in Slushie Slinger. If Tubular Kiko Racing was a qualifying Altador Cup game, the results may differ significantly!
And last but not least we come to the scholars versus the stone age squad, which sees Team Tyrannia in just another run-of-the-mill day and Team Brightvale attempting to fix an error in their statistics. The scholars reconciled a win in Yooyuball but the Tyrannians support game swept AGAIN, showing them that dinosaurs can rock the competition without being a known powerhouse.
This concludes our match report for Day 8 of the tournament. Can luck be shifting for some teams? Keep watching our Altador Cup Coverage for all sorts of Altador Cup awesomeness!
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo’s Altador Cup Scores Table – giving you a rough daily estimate on where your team is currently placed in the overall tournament ranks (so far) this season.
Team Lost Desert started the day with an easy three wins against Team Kiko Lake in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The Kikos did not want to be entirely submerged in quicksand as Holbie Pinnock seized a significant win in Shootout Showdown. Although Lost Desert had a crystal overall win, the Lakes are relieved that they weren’t buried in a sandstorm from the opposition. “Being buried in a rock slide in Altador Cup III was enough, thank you!” Captain “Poke” Cellers breathed, shuddering at the memory that prevented her team participating that year.
Team Brightvale are causing trouble again by obtaining a support game sweep against Team Roo Island. Forward players Lilo Blumario and Jair Tollet from Roo Island refused to be beaten by the scholars and bounced back with a win in Yooyuball. The Brightvalians are looking at a very good spot in the Finals this year if they continue with this standard.
The sun and the moon circled each other yesterday in a display of solar system entanglement. Team Altador wanted to solar flare their opponents out of the game whereas Team Kreludor wanted to force a total eclipse and end it all for the sun squad. The Kreludorks blotted out the Altadorian sun by taking wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Altador glowed around the edges of the moon by obtaining a Draw in Slushie Slinger.
Team Tyrannia seemed to be on a roll with Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown after they support game swept Team Lost Desert the other day. Team Shenkuu almost encountered the same problem, except that they had braced themselves for this match-up and fought back strong. The ninjas gained a very secure win in Yooyuball and evaded a support game sweep by gaining a Draw in Shootout Showdown. Still – Team Tyrannia remain the masters of Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise – it must be the Concert Hall lifestyle shining through as an advantage for them.
Last year’s champions Team Krawk Island suffered a defeat at the hands of Team Darigan Citadel who seem to be making a comeback of sorts this season. It was a brutal match between the two rough contenders but Darigan Citadel emerged victorious after winning Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. The pirates of Krawk Island avoided a trip to Davy Jones’ Locker by taking a win in Shootout Showdown (Ol’ Dash has still got it in him!) and forced a tie in Slushie Slinger.
Now this was a significant match to watch! Team Moltara versus Team Faerieland in a face-off to determine which lower tiered team has the power to stay in the competition. The Faerielanders are certainly not looking back as they won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. The Moltarans had enough team spirit to win Make Some Noise, although their search for a new manager is not looking too fruitful at the moment.
The spooks from Team Haunted Woods took on the mighty knights of Meridell yesterday and almost ended up with a four-way tie! If it wasn’t for the fans squealing in delight at the VIP appearance of the Brain Tree (don’t ask, the Altador Cup Committee are still wondering how the Brain Tree got there!) Team Haunted Woods might have gone home disappointed… instead, they came home as the overall winners with a win in Make Some Noise.
The match-up between teams Maraqua and Virtupets ended up with a mixture of results but declared Team Virtupets as the overall winners. It began with a Draw in Yooyuball, then Virtupets dominated Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown, finishing with a swimming win for Team Maraqua in Make Some Noise. Dr. Sloth is amused. King Kelpbeard is unimpressed. Both Yooyuball squads are baffled but not disappointed by the results as they tried to understand what happened.
Finally we arrive at the match-up between the sandy beach and frozen tundra when Team Mystery Island took on Team Terror Mountain. The tropical team proved their worth by bringing in the tides for Yooyuball, giving Mystery Island the main event win, but Team Terror Mountain snowed them in by sweeping their opponents in the support games. There’s no doubt about it, the mountaineers are here to make a statement this year!
That concludes today’s report and we still have no clue who will be taking home the trophy! Be sure to stock up one sore throat medicine if you plan to compete against the Techo Super-fan in the stadium. He has one incredible set of lungs! Watch our Altador Cup Coverage daily for reports, goodies, guides and more.
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo’s Slushie Slinger Guide. Who said that Team Tyrannia have to be the only experts in that game? You can be one too.
It was clouds versus the moon as Team Faerieland tried to overcast the bright glow of Team Kreludor’s success. Unfortunately the Faerielanders left a clear sky for Kreludor as the Kreludorks took home a clean-sweep of four wins. Faerie Queen Fyora said that her team will succeed and can only ask them to try their best.
Another upset for Team Moltara as the pirates from Team Krawk Island cut them down to size with a clean-sweep. The Moltarans have refused to comment although an advert has been spotted in the Neopian press for a new manager. As the pirates sail onwards on clear seas, Team Moltara are desperately looking for a weakness in their next opponent.
Team Mystery Island pulled themselves up by taking wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise against Team Kiko Lake yesterday. The tropics would have beaten the seaside squad without a problem if the Kikos’ star player Holbie Pinnock hadn’t managed a win in Shootout Showdown. A tired Holbie panted; “It was tough but we managed a win! That’s something.”
Old rivals Team Roo Island took on the infamous Team Darigan Citadel in a match that almost ended in a clean-sweep. The Darigans gained wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Their sweep was cut short when All-Star Lilo Blumario forced a Draw in Shootout Showdown. The Rooligans are not beaten down from this loss. What goes down must come up, after all!
Even the mighty powerhouse that is Team Lost Desert cannot defy Team Tyrannia’s unstoppable force in the support games. With Lost Desert taking home a win in Yooyuball but losing all three of the support games to the prehistoric stars. Captain Leera Heggle of the Lost Desert saw it coming and Captain Loryche from Tyrannia is impressed with the wins.
It was knights versus gladiators in the colosseum as Team Meridell fought Team Altador for competition wins. An interesting result occurred as Meridell claimed victories in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown and Altador scuffled a Draw in Make Some Noise plus a win in Slushie Slinger. A mixed bag of results that left spectators wanting to watch more.
It was a battle for superiority in the Team Terror Mountain versus Team Brightvale match but Brightvale took the overall win with victories in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. The mountaineers stopped the avalanche by Drawing in Make Some Noise and winning Shootout Showdown. The disciplinary for Brightvale must have shaken a few nerves but Terror Mountain say that their opponents were fighting strong yesterday.
Team Shenkuu versed Team Maraqua yesterday unsure of what the outcome would be as both teams are hoping for a place in the top Finals when the Second Round Robin comes around. As Maraqua gained a goal, Shenkuu scored another, and the supporters did the same thing until a tie was declared in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger AND Make Some Noise! The decider was in Shootout Showdown when Captain Elon Hughlis scraped a win for his team against Shenkuu’s Captain Mirsha Grelinek. “That was a long day!” Elon exclaimed as he returned to the locker room.
And finally we come to the Team Haunted Woods versus Team Virtupets match where both teams took home a Draw in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise but Virtupets won overall by taking victories in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. A great year for Virtupets so far but Haunted Woods still have the time to rise from the dead to fight back!
Stay with SunnyNeo for all the latest Altador Cup Coverage! You never know what tomorrow will bring in this unpredictable tournament.
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo’s Altador Cup Team Interviews, where fans get to speak on behalf of their favourite teams.
You need to "mellow" out and enjoy second place.
"Luke" out, I'm going to steal first at Shootout Showdown ;)
Once upon a time this match-up would not have been viewed as “one to watch”. Now we can safely say “this is one to watch!” Yesterday the formidable Team Virtupets with their lead player XL Striker 3.8 took on the wintery wonders of Team Terror Mountain. Both Virtupets and Terror Mountain have given their opponents something to think about as they rid themselves of their underdog status. It was almost a tie, with Team Virtupets claiming wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger and Terror Mountain taking wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. A clear split down the middle! Virtupets held the overall win though after winning Yooyuball, the main event.
This is one of those matches where in past years you would have said; “Oh, Team Lost Desert will sweep them, dead easy!” But their opponents Team Brightvale are putting up one of the biggest battles to date. Lost Desert took the overall win with the main event of Yooyuball and the support game Shootout Showdown. Brightvale protested against this and stole wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Unfortunately for Team Brightvale, it appears that a disciplinary is in action as the Altador Cup Committee clocked that ‘dirty’ tactics were being used on the Yooyuball field to gain an advantage over their opponents. Brightvale’s Team Captain “Squeaky” Tressif is ashamed of his team’s methods and is working on restoring a reputable reputation. The Brightvalians have generally been known for dirty play in past competitions but their Team Captain has always tried to lose that status. Let’s hope they can regain their honour in the next week! If only for Squeaky’s sake.
In the next match we see our first clean-sweep. Team Kiko Lake versed Team Meridell in what must have felt like one of the quickest matches in history for them. The Meridellians were clearly frustrated from having to face their geological rivals from Brightvale and Darigan Citadel the past couple of days and effectively took that pent up wrath out on the Kikos. Team Captain “Poke” Cellers of Kiko Lake shrugged. “Meh, it’s understandable. The knights had to face their kingdom’s biggest rivals recently, of course they were angry. No one was hurt – thank goodness – and they beat us fair and square.” Team Meridell, having taken home four wins, can now relax and refocus their energy on other games to come.
It is now reaching a stage where Team Moltara seem to be running out of steam as Team Maraqua dumped a bucket of water over their well-oiled machine as they made a clean-sweep. The Maraquans seem to be progressing rather well and say “no hard feelings to the Steampunk Squad. We’re just glad to win!” The trouble with underdog squads is that they are like a Cobrall in the grass… They hide their true potential until they STRIKE! And although prospects look grim for the Moltarans right now, any opponent who lets their guard down against them is likely to be the first to fall.
Ah, Team Shenkuu versus Team Roo Island… always a pleasant game to witness no matter which tournament due to their friendly dispositions. Many still believe that the ShenkRoo alliance is still strong, meaning that it seemed fitting for both teams to almost gain a four-way tie yesterday. Team Shenkuu scraped a narrow overall win in Make Some Noise when their fans erupted into respectful applause at the Yooyuball Draw. “Always an honour to play against the Rooligans.” Foltaggio from Shenkuu commented after he had thanked the fans. "Win or lose we can generally expect to have fun with them without hard feelings. It’s great!” Later we caught up with Roo Island’s Fenny Vail who said; “Shenkuu are a serious squad but it’s nice that our teams can have a friendly match amidst the heated competition. There’s too much drama, it’s refreshing to compete against friends.” Let’s hope that this match has left both teams feeling ready to fight strong against their next rivals.
This is another match that almost ended in a four-way tie. Team Darigan Citadel took on the Mystery Islanders and neither of them could seem to outdo each other on the field. The Darigan fans let out a mighty chant at the end of the match that snagged them a win in Make Some Noise. Sadly the Islanders tiki tack tactics were not enough to overcome Darigan Citadel’s fortress of defence. “I’m okay with the results.” Bertie Shurtz (Mystery Island’s Forward player) said as she approached the press. “The Darigans put up a good fight.”
Although Team Kreludor are generally strong overall, they are no match for Team Tyrannia in support games! The Kreludans managed to claim a win in Yooyuball but only Drew in Slushie Slinger. The Tyrannians took home victories Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown once again. Just another day in the office for the bedrock lot! Kreludor are not dismayed. They are fully aware of the Tyrannians’ support game-heavy disposition and predicted this result might happen.
Pirate ghosts or ghost pirates? Team Haunted Woods materialised on Team Krawk Island’s schedule to try and spook the superstitious buccaneers into submission. The pirates took one look at the undead lot and said “nah!” taking home wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. The Haunted Woods squad made plenty of haunting chants and melodies to secure a savvy Draw with the pirates in Make Some Noise before being banished from the deck of Krawk Island’s statistic ship. “Aye, no one messes with me crew!” Captain Garven Hale promised coolly as the teams headed back to their locker rooms.
And last but not least we come to the Team Altador versus Team Faerieland match, where the sun peeked from behind the clouds to win Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Faerielanders stepped up their game to earn a respectful Draw in Yooyuball against the gladiators. Timu from Team Altador says, “Both of our teams are showing good potential this year. We might be able to lift ourselves above the lower brackets of the tournament this time!” A theory best put to the test. (Right, supporters?)
That concludes our report on yesterday’s matches and it’s too early still to determine which teams will earn that beautiful golden Altador Cup at the end of the competition. Keep watching our Altador Cup Coverage for the next instalment of news!
This report has been brought to you by SunnyNeo’s Altador Alley (sponsor) Guide: Guiding the US users who can access it to their rewards!

There were only two clean-sweeps yesterday and one of those was within the Team Mystery Island versus Team Faerieland matches. The Islanders needed a slight statistics boost and this match provided that lift. Team Faerieland are not letting the loss dampen their hopes, they have already shown significant improvements, it’s just maintaining an adequate standard that maybe their biggest challenge. The Islanders are pleased with the result and feel ready for the next big match.
The other sweep occurred during the Team Brightvale versus Team Altador game. The scholars squared up with the gladiators and proved that the pen is mightier than the sword. King Hagan of Brightvale is now satisfied his team swept the colossseum with the namesakes of the tournament. “Ha! I knew that forcing them to study would motivate them to do better this year. I’m so clever!” He laughed victoriously at his cunning. King Altador of… Altador (naturally) congratulates the Brightvalians for stepping up their game this year. He also sent a personal letter to his team to motivate them some more in their next head-to-head.
There was a massive sigh of relief exhaled when Team Shenkuu finished their match against Team Moltara yesterday and emerged as the overall winners. The Moltarans have not yet managed to find their footing in the ranks but there maybe hope for them yet. Defender Tulah Kisner says; “This really isn’t how we expected to begin the season! Maybe we need to rethink our tactics? Despondant? Yes. Beaten? No.” Shenkuu’s defeat against Team Lost Desert the other day left many anxious that they would be too disheartened to excel in the next few matches, and fears of an injury made fans worry about performance levels. Captain Mirsha Grelinek quickly dispelled those fears; “Losing to Lost Desert does not mark an end to us – it sparks a beginning and emerging victorious against Team Moltara is the first step to a better outcome. And yes, there was an injury the other day but we received medical clearance. No need to fret.” The Steampunk Squad are now considering hiring a new manager. The Moltarans refuse to give-in and are content with the Draw in Slushie Slinger, despite losing the other three games.
Team Meridell had their second iconic match in a row yesterday. First they were against Brightvale on Day 3 and yesterday they went against their nemesis, Darigan Citadel. Fiorina of Meridell seemed exasperated. “I swear the Altador Cup Committee did this on purpose! Anything for a good media story… honestly!” The Darigans seized wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. They tied in Slushie Slinger, though. Captain Layton Vickles sniggered; “Those knights have nothing on us! It’ll take a lot more than small talk to get us quaking.” King Skarl was unimpressed and snapped at his squad. “We didn’t lose a WAR to them but you lose a SPORTING TOURNAMENT to them?! You’re lucky I don’t throw you in the dungeons!” Lord Darigan told King Skarl to stop being melodramatic and take the loss like a grown up. Captain “Wizard” Windelle from Meridell says, “There’s a lot more conflict between our leaders than our Yooyuball teams! I’m glad this match is over, Team Darigan won’t win in the Second Round!”
Another good day for the Rooligans as Team Roo Island took an overall win yesterday against Team Haunted Woods. They won all of the support games and gained a Draw in Yooyuball. This is really starting to look like Team Roo Island’s chance of a comeback! The Haunted Woods seem to be heading towards an early grave but we never know when they’ll start spellbinding their opponents. Maybe getting rid of Autrey Fulse was a bad move?
Team Tyrannia remain champions of the support games by taking wins in Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Kiko Lake won Yooyuball and seem to be thoroughly enjoying themselves this year. If they can manage a balance between Yooyuball and the support games the Kikos might be able to strengthen their position. The Tyrannians seem to be comfortable being masters of the support games.
Ah, Team Virtupets versus Team Kreludor, enemies outside of the tournament for eons. This face-off gained some intriguing outcomes as Kreludor seem to be one of the leading teams but Virtupets are no longer the underdogs they used to be. Team Kreludor are one of the strongest competitors at the moment but were unable to sweep the Virtupets squad. Dr. Sloth’s favourites seized an outstanding win in Yooyuball and Drew in Shootout Showdown. Virtupets’ Forward player XL Striker 3.8 is still Top Goal Scorer. The Kreludorks blasted their opponents to make way for a win in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Captain Derlyn Fonnet gasped; “I’m shocked at our Yooyuball defeat! Virtupets have really started to show their true colours.” It just goes to show that small teams can and will strike when you least expect it.
On Day 3, Team Lost Desert took down Second Place Team Shenkuu of Altador Cup IV, and yesterday they stampeded across ACIV’s First Place winners Team Krawk Island in their bid to take home the gold! The pirates parried for a Draw in Shootout Showdown to avoid being swept by the desert folk. “Dasher” Soley says that old age has not affected his Yooyuball skills, but he won’t deny that being pulled out of retirement wasn’t a move that he expected to happen. “’Twas a bit uncalled for.” Dasher replied, shaking his head ruefully. “But I could ne’er abandon me crew when they needed me back – so here I am! Cursed or not.” Team Lost Desert have very good prospects for this year and if they maintain this standard they could go far.
And last but not least we come to the Team Terror Mountain versus Team Maraqua match, which ended in an overall win for Team Maraqua. “Yeah we could have done better,” Captain Prytariel commented on behalf of Terror Mountain, “but the fans managed a Draw in Slushie Slinger and a win in Shootout Showdown was achieved so it’s something.” The Maraquans had the last laugh though as they won Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Captain Elon Hughlis said; “Hey, the fans love me! What can I say? Ideally I would have liked a clean-sweep but what can ya do?”
And this concludes another compelling match report from SunnyNeo. Follow our Altador Cup Coverage for reports and more on Altador Cup V.

O_o I think the practice team deserves a break.
Let’s begin with Team Haunted Woods versus Team Darigan Citadel. Both teams proved to be equals with a tie in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Darigan Citadel took wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger to the sheer delight of their supporters. Team Haunted Woods commented that their new player, “Brains” Mortigan, is okay after his ear fell off mid-match. Captain Krell Vitor reassured supporters that a loss of limb is normal for zombies and that a few hundred stitches returned the zombie back to normal. Sadly that distraction prevented them from grasping a win.
It appears that Team Faerieland is really kicking dust into their opponents’ eyes by seizing a Draw in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. Defender Delma Harrence says, “We’re really on form this year! All of our practice is paying off. I hope Queen Fyora is proud of us." Team Tyrannia managed a win in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The prehistoric squad are competing well this year.
This was one of those matches to watch because of monarch sibling rivalry. King Skarl’s Team Meridell versed King Hagan’s Team Brightvale in a fight to the death! (Okay, that was an exaggeration, but it was a heated face-off.) Team Brightvale had hopes of becoming the next best thing since sliced bread (TOASTED bread for all you fans out there) but only managed to secure a win in Slushie Slinger. King Skarl laughed hard, calling his brother’s team a “joke”. King Hagan grumbled about his disappointment in their loss of Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown and says his team will need to study their opponents more. Captains “Squeaky” Tressif and “Wizard” Windelle have not let their kings’ disputes affect their sportsmanship as they remain on neutral terms with one another.
Now let’s move on to the burning hot Team Moltara versus the flash freezing Team Terror Mountain in a battle of the elements! During the match-up yesterday, Team Terror Mountain buried Moltara in a blizzard of skill, claiming wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Captain Prytariel said after the game; “I was expecting them to beat us in at least one game, I am very proud of my team and our supporters.” Team Moltara scrambled a tie in Slushie Slinger, though, and say that their debut start to the tournament could have been better.
Team Krawk Island retained their dignity yesterday by sinking Team Kiko Lake’s glass bottom boat, stealing a victory in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Kiko Lake found a hole in the pirates’ hull and exploited their weakness in Slushie Slinger, winning one for the Lakes. With tactics like that they’re looking at the big leagues.
This was an incredible match between teams Virtupets and Mystery Island, which ended up with an upset for the Islanders. Team Virtupets shocked the colosseum by deploying expert tactics in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Both sides managed to equal each others’ vocal chords in Make Some Noise, ending in a tie. Dr. Sloth transmitted a message via Neovision to send his approval of their successes and if they get into the Top Three, their homes might be spared. Teylor Nix from Mystery Island says that it took them by surprise but they’ll get their own back on the space station team!
On to the first sweep of yesterday, it was sun versus sea when Team Altador took on Team Maraqua. Despite performing extremely well the past few days, the Altadorians were unable to tame the waves and found themselves dragged away by the Maraquan currents. Team Maraqua took home four wins yesterday – with Team Captain Elon Hughlis taking all the credit for it as is his nature. Team Altador have not given up yet, they still have plenty to prove.
Then there was the clash of the teams under the title “favourites to win the tournament” after taking home Third and Second Places respectfully last year. Team Lost Desert crossed scimitars and katanas with Team Shenkuu in one of the most anticipated matches of the season. When the dust settled there was a clear victor... Team Lost Desert had emerged as the winners without a single loss! Later, Captain Leera Heggle said that the spirit of King Coltzan had appeared to him the night before the match as a sign of fortune to come for them... and it did! Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Team Shenkuu stated that the ninjas congratulate the desert squad and stressed that their spirit has not broken from the losses. Although the rare use of a spokesperson on behalf of Team Shenkuu leads fans to believe that an injury may have occurred during the Yooyuball match as their Team Captain always makes a public appearance, win or lose. Expert riverboarders Cassile and Bowe say that they plan to travel down to Altador to lend Shenkuu extra support in the stands. Last night celebrations went on for Team Lost Desert in a chorus of cheers.
Finally we come to the scuffle between Team Kreludor and Team Roo Island, which set the Rooligans back in the stands. The Kreludorks safely launched the Rooligans’ dreams into orbit by achieving yet another clean-sweep in the First Round Robin. Team Roo Island held no grudges against the Kreludans for claiming the victories. “What can I say? It was a fair match.” Captain Lilo Blumario shrugged, smiling despite the results. “We did our best – next time we will do better!” Jurin T. from Kreludor made special appearance merchandise signing at the entrance of the stadium last night to thank their supporters for being amazing.
This season looks to be more and more perplexing as the First Round Robin continues to throw obstacles in each teams’ way. Have stronger teams from last year really fallen or are the once lower tiered teams here to stay as top contenders? Stay up-to-date with our Altador Cup Coverage as the plot thickens!

The first sweep of the day was from Team Brightvale in their match against Kiko Lake yesterday. Both of these teams are looking promising as top contenders but with a clean-sweep under their belts, the Brightvalians seem to be looking like a main powerhouse for this season. Team Kiko Lake have not lost hope though as they have plenty of energy left for their next match.
Team Kreludor also managed a clean-sweep against Team Krawk Island who’s ship seems to be listing hazardously on the shore of their statistics. Team Captain Derlyn Fonnet of Kreludor says that it’s time other teams understood their real skills. No more taunting, this is business! The pirates are frustrated about this result and are determined to prove that they will not fall into the lower brackets as other champions have done so in the past.
Team Tyrannia are still masters of the support games, claiming wins in Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Unlike the day before yesterday, Team Mystery Island secured a victory in Yooyuball. Mystery Island’s Team Captain, Volgoth, states that the great Mumbo Pango is still sleeping and cannot enchant them with good prospects at the moment.
The Rooligans are happily progressing at an ample pace, taking wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Their opponents, Team Terror Mountain, gaining respectable victories in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Team Roo Island’s Defender Gordo Gunnels says that he is proud of his squad’s determination to do well after falling to Ninth Place last year. “It will take more than a set-back like last year’s results to hold us Rooligans back!” He cheered as he left to congratulate the mountaineers for a good game.
Team Meridell withheld their honour by achieving wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown against the Faerieland Fighters yesterday. But living up to their new expectations, Team Faerieland are now seemingly digging their heels in the ground to gain a reputation as Slushie Slinger powerhouses (somewhat like Tyrannia managed to achieve). Although this time the Faerielanders Drew with the knights, Queen Fyora herself is rumoured to be planning a visit to the stadium in future matches to lend her team support.
Similar to the Faerieland versus Meridell match-up, Team Lost Desert gained wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown against Team Maraqua, who only managed a Draw in Slushie Slinger. Dorina Hals from Maraqua says that her Team Captain is unhappy with the result but they will work harder the next time the two teams clash head-to-head. Derby Azar from Team Lost Desert says that they are still eyeing up the Altador Cup to take home.
Another mirror of the Faerieland versus Meridell or Lost Desert versus Maraqua matches yesterday was the match between Team Darigan Citadel and Team Moltara. Darigan Citadel faced-off Moltara taking wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, drawing in Slushie Slinger. Roxton A. Colchester III, one of Moltara’s first discoverers, has not been located to comment on the team’s rusty gears as new players to the tournament. Team Moltara continue to press on regardless and aim to gain a better footing in future games.
Team Altador managed to tie with the Virtupets team in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise but are hoping to beat the next team that crosses their path. Team Virtupets continue to make their team proud by winning Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Despite this King Altador could be seen beaming with pride yesterday as his squad are improving significantly.
And finally we come to the Team Shenkuu versus Team Haunted Woods match that almost ended in a four-way tie! The Haunted Woods supporters scraped a win in Make Some Noise, tipping them into the overall victory status for that match-up. Shenkuu insist that a Draw is not a loss and they will not fail their supporters this season. Zo Junior from Haunted Woods boasts that it was his funky victory dances after scoring a goal that encouraged his team supporters to cheer louder that day.
The underdogs continue to make a firm statement that they are powerhouses. Keep up-to-date with our Altador Cup Coverage to find out what happens next!

YAAAAAY! New daily match reports! Whoo! Go team! *hyperactive dancing*
Let’s begin with the namesakes of the tournament versus the newbies to the tournament: Team Altador vs. Team Moltara. For those who have witnessed Team Altador’s past matches, many were expecting Team Moltara, the geared-up Steampunk Squad, to take their first wins of the season… Well, it appears that Team Altador had another plan in mind as they blitzed the unsuspecting Moltarans with a full clean-sweep! When we asked Team Captain “Trapper” Remis what his secret was to Altador’s success, he simply replied with: “It’s about time we reveal our true potential in this tournament and make our King proud!”
Ah, last year’s champions Krawk Island set sail in the tournament with a sound victory in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. With Garven Hale leading the pirates this year, previous Captain “Dasher” Soley returned to the Cup after his replacement Feldon “Dinksy” Collibridge received an injury, forcing his quick comeback. Team Faerieland began the season with dignity as they secured a strong win in Slushie Slinger, keen to raise expectations for their squad. Team Krawk Island insist that they have not been cursed from becoming ACIV’s First Place winners as Haunted Woods, Darigan Citadel and Roo Island had become fallen champions they year immediately after they placed First in their respective tournaments. There’s hope for the buccaneers yet!
The fallen champions of Altador Cup III, Team Roo Island, seem to be making a healthy start to the tournament by achieving wins in Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Their opponents, Mystery Island could only secure a Draw against the Rooligans in Yooyuball and unfortunately lost overall yesterday. We will have to see how later matches play out to witness whether or not both of them are eyeing up the Top Four positions realistically. The Mystery Islanders have stated that they intend to improve their game in future matches.
Team Tyrannia broke up their “Forsaken Five” by transferring Evrem Guilako for Team Terror Mountain’s Elbin Kroe in a bid to improve their Yooyuball prospects. Yesterday Tyrannia were pitted against Team Virtupets, Dr. Sloth’s favourites, who once upon a time didn’t gain a serious reputation in the Cup except for in Shootout Showdown where they gained a lot of respect. Yesterday the matches almost balanced out, with Team Tyrannia winning Slushie Slinger (their speciality) and Make Some Noise, and Team Virtupets stormed through Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown without a problem. The Virtupets’ success appears to be whittled down to their Left Forward XL Striker 3.8 who is a strong leading Top Goal Scorer! Keetra Deile, their Team Captain, refused to comment but rumour has it that an important software upgrade was activated in the Wocky before the match.
After their transfer of Elbin Kroe for Tyrannia’s Evrem Guilako, Team Terror Mountain were hoping to up the ante in their matches. Yesterday they were against one of the current “favourites to win”, Team Lost Desert, which spurred the mountaineers to win Shootout Showdown and edged their way for a Draw in Slushie Slinger. The Lost Desert squad proved to be too strong from them in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise and remain a team to watch.
Similar to the Lost Desert versus Terror Mountain match, Team Meridell valiantly won the games of Yooyuball and Make Some Noise whereas Team Maraqua forced a Draw in Slushie Slinger and scored their win in Shootout Showdown. The knights and the Maraquans are both considered to be higher tier contenders this year and their true strength has yet to shine. King Skarl and King Kelpbeard insist that their own teams are born to become the next champions.
Team Kiko Lake are another underdog team to join the upsurge of the lower tiered teams’ rebellion! After their stunning face-off with Team Shenkuu yesterday (who are amongst the “favourites to win” this year) the Kiko Lakers are adamant to prove that they are not limited to the lower tiers this time… even receiving a Yellow Card to caution them against ignoring the one-on-one player rule by boxing in their rivals when they became a bit too excited at the prospect at winning a match. Captain Mirsha Grelinek of Team Shenkuu dismisses rumours of them inheriting the so-called “Winner’s Curse” in place of Team Krawk Island (after losing Yooyuball to the Kiko Lakers) and congratulates the Kikos for working extremely hard to defeat them in the main event. The Kikos also managed an honourable Draw in Shootout Showdown and Shenkuu regained their footing with wins in both Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.
Cheers erupted in the stadium when Team Kreludor swept Team Haunted Woods in every match they faced. The self-proclaimed Kreludorks thanked their fans for their continued support as Team Haunted Woods refused to comment on the blow to their statistics. Captain Krell Vitor denies that his newest player, aptly named “Brains” Mortigan, was the cause of their loss for delivering slow Yooyu passes and attempting to eat the brains of the Kreludans. Is there any sign of the Haunted Moon alliance rekindling after it disintegrated in Altador Cup I? The possibility maybe slim after that outcome but this year is full of surprises!
Finally we come to the Darigan Citadel versus Team Brightvale match-up, which ended up with jaws dropping throughout the colosseum. The scholars from Brightvale are generally known as an underdog team, but with the return of Orie Dinelle as goalkeeper their luck seems to have vastly improved as they achieved a clean-sweep in all games against the Darigans. Forward player Tandrak Shaye of Darigan Citadel commented that his team was not slacking off and that the scholars had caught them on a bad day, but he also said he noticed that their tactics had greatly improved since previous years. Either way, the news of this clean-sweep shocked many and it leaves everyone wondering who will be the next reigning champions of the Altador Cup.
Are we looking at a new generation of champions this year? It’s hard to guess as the First Round Robin has only just begun. Keep watching our Altador Cup Coverage for updates in this shocking season of Yooyuball!
