Style Showdown
What is Style Showdown?
Style Showdown is a yearly returning customisation competition. Each year, three themes are chosen by the Neopets staff. It is then up to you to dress up one of your pets for each of the themes. The best entries get through to the semi finals and get put up for voting. The winners for each theme will be awarded with prizes. There will also be an overall top three of winners, who will receive even more rare prizes.

Style Showdown 2010
The Style Showdown is a customisation competition that runs for six weeks, from July 29th through September 8th, with entry periods for each theme contest lasting approximately one week.
After each entry period has ended, the Neopets staff will post nine semi-finalists to be voted on. The semi-finalists for the first theme (Masked in Mystery) will be posted on or near August 12th. Users will then have one week to vote on the semi-finalists. At the end of that week, the winners will be posted in order of first through ninth place.
The first-place winners from each of the three theme contests will advance to the finals, where users will vote on who is Neopia's Best Dressed. After a final week of voting, Neopia's Best Dressed will be crowned!

Winning prizes for entering
You can win prizes simply for entering your pet into the competition. In the table below you can see which prizes are given out during each round.

*On each account you enter a pet into the Style Showdown you will receive a Neocash bonus. Remember that you may only enter one pet for each round. If you enter a pet on your side account, you may not enter a pet on your main account.
Prizes for voting
On the rules page of Style Showdown it is indicated that you can win four different prizes if you vote every day. If you do not vote every day you will not get the special prizes, but you will get a random amount of neopoints each time you vote.

Prizes for advancing through the rounds
If your pet got through to the semi-finals you win a prize. Being in the top three for each round also earns you a nice prize. Then finally there are special prizes for the overall winners. All prizes are shown in the table below and are updated as the prizes are being released.

As a result, (_Balthamel_) has been moved to first place and is now in the running for Neopia's Best Dressed. What Is Neopia's Style Showdown?
Neopia's favourite customisation contest is back! The Style Showdown returns with three all-new themed style challenges. All you have to do is dress your Neopet up to match the theme and then enter the contest. Creativity is the key here, so really let your imagination run wild! The three winners of the themed challenges will then face off against each other in an ultimate Style Showdown competition to determine who will be crowned "Neopia's Best Dressed."
This year's themes are:
Masked in Mystery: Be as creative as you'd like with this theme! It can be anything from your favourite masked character to a mystery that just can't be solved.
Sugar & Spice: Sweets, spices, and everything nice are all fair play in this category.
Spaced: Is your Neopet spaced out, lost in space, or just very symmetrical?
When Is Neopia's Style Showdown?
The Style Showdown runs for six weeks, from July 29th through September 8th. The entry periods for each contest last approximately one week. The nine semi-finalists for the first theme (Masked in Mystery) will be posted on or around August 12th. Users will then have about one week to vote on the semi-finalists. At the end of that week, the winners will be posted in order of first through ninth place.
The first-place winners from each of the three themed competitions will advance to the finals, where users will choose who is Neopia's Best Dressed. After a final week of voting, Neopia's Best Dressed will be crowned.
How Do I Participate?
Users can submit one Neopet for each Style Showdown theme. Remember, in accordance with the Neopets Terms and Conditions, you can only enter one Neopet from one Neopets account for each theme.
Each Neopet must be wearing a minimum of three (3) items to qualify for entry in that week's Style Showdown theme. These items may be NP items, NC items, or a combination of the two. If your pet is not wearing enough items, you will be notified that your Neopet doesn't meet the minimum requirements, and you will need to add more items and re-enter your Neopet. Users do not have to dress their Neopets in NC items to participate in the Style Showdown.
There will be a submission period for each theme, and users will only be able to enter their Neopets into the contest for that theme during that particular timeframe. Once a submission period closes for a theme, users will no longer be able to enter a Neopet into the Style Showdown for that theme, so make sure to read the schedule to know when each theme contest is open for entries.
All entries are final, so be sure that your Neopet has just the look you want before entering. Once you have confirmed that you wish to enter your Neopet for a theme, you will be unable to go back and make any changes to your submission.
Voting Criteria
Nine (9) semi-finalists total will be chosen by the Neopets staff from all submissions for each theme. The Neopets staff will make their selections based on 1) how well an entry expresses the theme, 2) creativity, and 3) originality. Who is chosen as a semi-finalist is entirely up to the judgment of the Neopets staff. Once selected, these nine (9) semi-finalists will be showcased on the Style Showdown voting page in their themed outfits. From the voting page, users can vote once for each of the nine (9) semi-finalist Neopets per day. You can vote for as many or as few of the entries as you wish. To receive your Neopoint reward for the day, you must vote for at least one entry, but you will not receive more Neopoints for voting for multiple entries or vice versa. In agreement with the Neopets Terms and Conditions, you can only use your main account for voting purposes. Players who use multiple accounts for voting purposes may be frozen.
After approximately one week of voting, the first, second, and third place winners for the particular theme will be announced.
On approximately September 2nd, the first-place winners from each of the three themes will advance to the final Style Showdown, and users will vote to decide who will be crowned Neopia's Best Dressed.
Prize and Neopoint Awarding
You will receive one wearable Neopoint item for submitting your Neopet in each week's theme.
If you are in a country where the NC Mall is available, you will also receive a bonus 150 free NC upon your first entry into a theme.
You may qualify for up to four weekly achievement prizes for voting every day during each week's theme contest.
If your Neopet is chosen as one of the nine semi-finalists in any of the theme contests, you will be awarded additional virtual prizes. The top three (3) winners from each theme will earn further virtual prizes and receive 150 NC. You will be notified of your selection as a semi-finalist and finalist via Neomail. Any prizes you are awarded will be placed in your Inventory.
You will earn Neopoints once a day for submitting votes for the semi-finalists in each theme contest.
A Neocash shopping spree will be awarded to the first, second, and third place finalists. The prize tiers are as follows: the first-place finalist will receive 1,000 NC; the second-place finalist will receive 750 NC; and the third-place finalist will receive 500 NC. Neocash will automatically be placed in user accounts. This Neocash can be used in the NC Mall. The receipt and use of Neocash are subject to the NC Mall Shopping Rules. Neocash cannot be sold or traded for Neopoints, Neopoint items, Neocash items, or any other currency.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I enter my Neopet in a theme contest?
Your Neopet might not be wearing enough items. Your Neopet must have on at least three (3) items to be entered in a theme contest. Great wearable items can be found all over Neopia, so if you need to purchase more items for your pet, please visit the shops or the NC Mall.
2. How long do I have to enter my Neopet in this week's theme?
The submission period for the theme contests will usually last about a week. Please check the schedule to make sure you have time to enter your Neopet into the current themed competition.
3. I entered my Neopet for a theme and want to enter another pet, but it's not letting me.
That's because you can only enter one Neopet for each theme contest.
4. Do I have to vote for every semi-finalist to earn NP?
No, you can vote for as many or as few semi-finalists as you'd like and still earn the same amount of NP. All that is required to earn Neopoints for voting is casting a vote for at least one semi-finalist.
5. When will Neopia's Best Dressed be decided?
We will announce the final winners and crown Neopia's Best Dressed during the second week of September.
6. How will I know if I am a winner?
We will notify all semi-finalists (those whose Neopets were chosen by the Neopets staff to be one of the nine voted on by users in each theme contest) and all finalists (first, second, third) by Neomail. Your prizes will be placed directly into your Inventory.
7. What is a semi-finalist?
For each theme contest, the Neopets staff will select nine Neopets to be voted on by the users. These nine Neopets are semi-finalists. The first, second, and third place winners of each theme contest will be determined by those user votes.
8. My Neopet has on more than three items. Is that OK?
Yes, three is just the minimum number of items that a Neopet must be wearing in order to be entered into the Style Showdown, so feel free to make your entries as elaborate as you'd like!
9. Does my Neopet need to wear any NC items in order to qualify for entering a theme?
Nope. You don't have to dress your Neopet in NC items to enter a theme or compete. NC is entirely optional, so don't worry if your Neopet is only wearing NP items when you submit them for a theme -- your creativity is the most important part of having a great entry! As long as your Neopet is wearing a minimum of three items, they're ready for action. More importantly, NC items in no way influence the judges' decisions.
10. One of my Neopets has already been a semi-finalist in a theme contest; is it OK to enter the same Neopet in another theme contest?
Yes, even if your Neopet has been chosen as a semi-finalist for one theme contest, it is still eligible for entry in other theme contests as long as it's dressed to match the theme of those contests.
11. One of my Neopets was chosen as a semi-finalist for a theme contest; is it OK to enter a different Neopet from the same account into another theme contest?
Yes, you may enter a different Neopet from the same account, even if you've already been a semi-finalist in a theme contest.
12. Can I enter the same theme contest with one Neopet from my main account and another Neopet from my side account?
Nope. You aren't allowed to enter the same theme twice. However, you can enter one Neopet from your main account in one theme contest and one from your side account in the next contest, if you choose to do so.
13. I was awarded Neocash, but it's not showing up for me to spend. What's wrong?
Your Neocash will be available to spend in the NC Mall 24 - 48 hours after you've been awarded it.

1. Can I recustomise my pet once I have entered the Showdown?
Yes, when you entere a pet the current customisation is saved and will not be effected if you change your pets look.
2. My Showdown pet changed species, now what happens?
Nothing, if you entered your grundo into the Showdown and then zapped it into a bori, it will still be entered as a grundo.
