Tonight at 11.59 PM NST both the Masks of Dread NC Quest Pack and the Haunted Hijinks Menacing Mallet Packs will retire.

The Masks of Dread NC Quest will last until midnight on November 1st. But you have until November 6th to claim your prizes for Haunted Hijinks.

So go to the NC Mall and spend some NC!

We've updated our Masks of Dread guide with today's solution. When you finish your tasks you are given an Igneots Fire Flower by Saskia. However, this item is glitched and will not show up in your closet.
Also, the Moltara City map seems glitched. All the worms are appearing, and most locations bring you to the neopets home page. We hope TNT will fix these issues soon.

Halloween Event

The Cybunny's stall that we have all been waiting for has opened up in the Haunted Faire as an event called "Masks of Dread". In this event you can choose a mask and take it on a quest that awards both items and wearables.

Halloween is approaching soon and spooky things are bound to happen. You didn't hear this from us, but those Meepits are getting two new colors: Halloween and Zombie.
Better stay away from the Petpet Puddle!

Today is the second day you can whack for Ghosts with the NC Mall's Haunted Hijinks event. We have now set-up a Haunted Hijinks guide which will be updated daily with the new item of the day.


Today's new item is the Ruffled Gothic Silk Wrap:

The Haunted Hijinks event we mentioned before has started! You can now buy Menacing Mallet pack in the NC Mall and start whacking some ghosts! We will be coming with a guide for this event soon.

TNT already gave us a teaser in yesterday's news how the Haunted Faire is bound to contain more spooky surprises:

Visitors to the Apple Bobbing stand have been reporting to us that they have seen a mysterious Cybunny lurking around the Haunted Faire. Maybe it has something to do with the empty cart nearby? Some have heard that the cart is due to open up sometime next week. I wonder what it could be?

Well, what could this be? Thanks to louirawr, we can now show you this link of the upcoming Haunted Faire map

As you can see here, the empty cart right behind apple bobbing now wears the name Masks of Dread. The url of this Haunted Faire map says Oct25, which sounds like this upcoming event will start on October 25th. Seeing how the url of the Masks of Dread contains the word quests when you click on it, it looks like this will be some kind of quest event similar to the kind of Halloween quests that were hosted by Apple Bobbing Bart last year.

But there's more! on the left side of the Haunted Faire, you can see an eerie looking Eyrie, who is hosting the NC Mall event "Haunted Hijinks". According to it's description, this event will start today, so keep an eye on it!

Each time you take out one of the graveyard's 13 ghost during the Haunted Hijinks event, which runs from October 19th through the 31st, you'll earn an exclusive NC item.

Other prizes include several new apples. Our Apple Bobbing guide has been updated. If you get an item that's not on out list though, please let us know so we can add it.

There is also another stamp auction for the Grundo Reeducation Fund! This month it is a 'Scary Tree Stamp'.

The new Halloween KeyQuest promotion has started. There is a new board out for the season, Haunted Woods 2, but it is incredibly glitchy at the moment; hopefully it will be fixed very soon.


On the bright side, there are some new seasonal prizes out as well; our KeyQuest guide will be updated shortly.

If you visit the NC Mall, you can now buy the new Lawyerbot Costume Pack! So if you always wanted to dress up like Lawyerbot, here is your chance:



The Bonus item coming from this superpack is the Lawyerbot Briefcase. It's said to be perfect for important papers and your favourite Usukis!

It looks like the login glitch is happening to some people again (though not everyone). People are unable to log into their accounts, getting the message theur word is wrong and will be unable to request their word.

This is a glitch that has been happening sometimes for a few weeks now. Hopefully everyone will be able to log in again soon :)

The 'Coming Soon' area in the Haunted Faire seems to be a new NC game called Haunted Hijinks.

It seems that spirits are rising at the local graveyard, and the only way to put them in their place is with a crushing blow from a Menacing Mallet. Each time you take out one of the graveyard's 13 ghost during the Haunted Hijinks event, which runs from October 19th through the 31st, you'll earn an exclusive NC item. So, what are you waiting for? Get after those ghosts!

This game will be playable by purchasing 'Menacing Malets' much like Blumaroll Dice or Wonderclaw Widgets. These are not currently avaliabe to purchase but will likely be released at the same time as the game. Edit: rather than a game, it looks like this will be a daily event, like the 13 Days of Trick or Treat event that was hosted last year. For similar Daily Events, have a look at our NC events guide.

The Neoboards are sporting some pretty new icons released by TNT today.

Little Neovia has been experiencing some changes. It seems Bart has packed up his bags and left.

Apple Bobbing is no longer accessable from the Neovian map. If you are quite attatched to sticking your head in a bucket for a piece of fruit, you can still bob for apples by typing in the address or by clicking from our Dailies page.

Whether this change is the result of a glitch or the start of a plot or event is still unkown but rest assured we will keep you updated with the latest news!

Edit: Looks like the Haunted Faire has returned. Bart only left to return to his ol' stall at the faire.  The available prizes have changed, too.  We will be updating our Apple Bobbing Guide soon.

You know that Halloween is just around the corner when the Haunted Faire comes into town! Apple Bobbing Bart has once more set up his cart in the Haunted Woods... Why don't you try it out? We heard there are new prizes available this year... and perhaps there is more to come?

At the moment, it seems there's a glitch going on where people who open Neopets find out they've been logged out. There's no need to panic, this happened to many people and will likely have something to do with the new Facebook connect feature:

We're going to be adding a new Facebook Connect functionality to the site in the next couple weeks. It's completely optional, but it will allow you to use your Facebook credentials to register/log in, if you're interested. We'll be testing the features for the next couple of days, so the buttons will only appear to a limited number of people. If you see it, don't panic! You can try it out if you like; if not, no worries. :) To find out more about Facebook Connect, please check out the FAQs.

There also seems to be another glitch, where people keep getting redirected to the neopets home page all the time.

We hope tnt will be working on fixing those glitches soon, or on getting the Facebook connect feature up and ready!

It looks like the Eliv Thade Key Quest Token is returning to the NC Mall:



The token has been released last year for Halloween as well, then it give out the Eliv Thade Cloak as a wearable bonus item. For this year, the bonus item will most likely have been changed into a totally new item.


Edit: the token has now been re-released. The bonus item it gives out is the Eliv Thade Castle Background:

Neopets seems to be down for maintenance :(

For a longer time, it has not been possible for new users to sign-up with premium. If they tried, they got re-directed to the Neopets home page instead. This seems to be fixed now, when you got to the Premium page, and click on the 15-Days free trail button, you'll be able to sign up now. 

If you got referred during the period Premium sign-ups were down, please don't forget about the person who referred you! You can still use the referral by going here.

The Back to School Gift Box Mystery Capsule only retired a short while ago, so a new Gift Box Mystery Capsule might not be around the corner right away, but the images of the halloween version of the Gift Box Mystery Capsule have already been found!
