A new contest has been introduced today: Neopia's Style Showdown.  Dress one of your pets to match a certain theme and you may win a NC Mall Shopping Spree!  First theme is Out on the Town.  Full rules are here.  There will be three separate Showdowns, the winners of each showdown will compete against each other for a final "Neopia's Best Dressed" winner.  Neopoint and NC Mall wearable items are eligible, but your pet must be wearing at least three items and you may only enter one pet for each theme.  All entries are final.  Current entries will be open for about one week.  Have fun customising!  Don't forget to check our three wearable guide pages for searchable item lists: Neopoint Customisation, Paint Brush Customisation, and NC Mall Customisation.


Edit: There's a schedule and FAQ page with info on timing for the showdown.  Also, you will get a wearable item just for entering your pet, item is Neovian Lamp Cut Out.

The New Game Challenge has been updated to Spinacles!  This game is very similar to Faerie Bubbles, but the target spins around.  Check out our guide to see the prizes.

After a long absence, Brucey B Slots has returned with dazzling new graphics and updated soundtrack.  It is not a New Game Challenge, however, likely because it is not available to all users.

The Red NC Mall Second Birthday Goodie Bag is starting to appear at the NC Mall.  This is a freebie, so grab your bag and celebrate!  Most people are receiving the Number 2 Balloon, NC item (wearable) whether they were able to claim the silver bag or not.

The next New Game Challenge has been released!  Current game is now Legends of Pinball.  They've also released a new design on the NC ticket.  Check out our guide to see the prizes and have fun playing!

Don't forget to complete the New Game Challenge as soon as you can.  For a few minutes yesterday, the new game was displayed as Legends of Pinball, so we expect it will be changed rather soon.  When the next game is released, you will no longer be able to earn the prizes from Dice of Destiny.  You can see the prizes on our New Game Challenge Guide page.

TNT has activated the clothes they released on the petday of the Koi:

We have put together a guide to the New Game Challenge.  In this guide you can see the required scores and prizes available for the challenges.  The current challenge game is Dice of Destiny.  Fun and a little addictive!  The New Game Challenge will be available for new flash games when they are released; this is not a month-long event with daily games like Daily Dare or Games Master Challenge.

We have added a guide to the new Kid Cuisine sponsor activity.  This is open to US users, but not all countries.  Even Premium users can participate in this one!



In the news released tonight, TNT announced a New Game Challenge that features AAA and Abigail.  There will also be a NC Challenge with Lulu.  At this time the challenge is not fully active, we will update you when we know more.

punkkitten468 has let us know that there is currently a pretty large article about Neopets on FoxNews. The article is titled 'Popular Children's Web Site Under Attack by Identity Thieves'. The title of the article pretty much grasps the content of the article. If you click on the link you will be brought to the article and can read the full story.

The article is based upon two blog entries of Christopher Boyd, director of malware research at FaceTime Communications Inc. 'Social Networking? or Social NOTworking?' and 'Hackers Target Neopets Users'. The last blog is based upon screenshots of hackers on a forum and is especially mindblowing.

If you are a parent, we advise you to read through the articles and discuss the contents with your children who play Neopets, as the hackers are using children to get to more important information than a Neopets account. It is important that children learn how they can be safe on the internet, even on Neopets, a site which is often assumed to be a safe haven for children.

It is important to note that this particular scam is a simple one to avoid.  If you find a live offsite link while on Neopets, do not click on it.  And if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.  There is no Fire Draik in the pound and there are no free paint brushes.

Earlier today, players had a message that they were receiving 50 NC for their team support, but NC balance did not increase.  This message is now replaced by a message saying that you can see your new trophy on your lookup.

The regular Altador Cup prize shop is not open yet, but there's a message from TNT at the AC main page:

 

The Altador Cup IV Prize Shop will be open soon. Trophies for this year's winners and participants will be awarded once the results have been made official.

Congrats to all who supported Krawk Island in the Altador Cup!  Final rankings have been posted.  Prize shop will not open before July 7th.

The Aquatic Carnival at Petpet Park is now open!  Treat your pet to some new tasty treats or souvenir wearables, shake some coralberries and sandfruit from the trees, play mini games and see all the performers (bearded lady, strong man, enormous Larnikin!)  It's just the perfect outing for your petpet on a nice summer afternoon.  The Carnival has set up in two new map areas, near Market Lane and Fashion Field.

Petpet Park is now in open beta, so anyone can sign up, but they're still testing new features regularly.  Use your neopets account to sign in and you'll be able to share your NC balance between the two websites.
