For the past two days, item prizes received from participating in Games Master Challenge have been multiplying in our inventories.  TNT is aware of this and has starting locking boards on the topic with the following message:

*** THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN LOCKED! *** If you have received extra prizes from the Games Master Challenge, please don't panic! You can discard the extra prizes, OR isolate them by leaving them in your inventory while you send the rest to your Safety Deposit Box. This makes it easier for us to separate the extras from your actual prizes. Write in to us using one of the automated forms at the Contact Us page: http://www.neopets.com/contact.phtml -- and we will delete the prizes for you. Don't worry; your account won't be frozen but we do know if users have been abusing this glitch and will freeze accordingly if we find anybody who has been doing such.

Clearly TNT is aware of the issue and is working on a fix.  Abusing the glitch (example: refreshing to get tons of extra items and selling them) can still get you in trouble, of course.

For everyone who needs the Darigan Pteri avatar, two of them are 644 days old today: plimiaro and Vakorozi.

We have received a screenshot of an email sent by a Neopets staff member regarding collecting the free nc mall gift box on a side account. In this screenshot the staffmember confirms it is okay to collect them on your side account. Thank you hottendott for the screenshot.

Hiya, TNT! I'm confused. Last week in the Editorial you stated that collecting the 10th birthday avatar on a side account was okay, because it was "just the avatar," when in actuality it was an avatar and a background. :/ That didn't make much sense to me anyway, but with the release of the freebie Gift Box in the NC Mall... well, I'm even more confused. Why was it okay to collect an avatar on a side when you got a free item with it, and yet we weren't supposed to collect the Gift Box on our sides when it's just an empty box? I'm really having a hard time seeing the logic in that, so I'm terribly confused. ~the_precious_02 Ack! We made an error last week. We forgot about the background coming along with the avatar. Because of that, collecting the avatar should not have been allowed for side accounts. With regard to these freebie gift boxes, you may collect them on your side accounts and gift any NC items you may have there. However, we've seen extreme multiple account abuse over the past few days. Therefore, remember that you may only collect the boxes on your (up to) five accounts. You may NOT, under any circumstance, create more accounts to get more boxes. This includes trying to make a loophole in the rules by creating an account, getting the box, then deactivating the account so it doesn't "count" toward your total. Anyone that we see making extra accounts like this to get these gift boxes will be frozen.

Hi, I'm Chaos, a new staff member here at SunnyNeo. I'll be writing game guides and adding new games to the database. I'll also be covering the Games Master Challenge this year.

The GMC should be starting today. We're unsure what time it will start, but most people speculate that it will begin this afternoon when the news comes out on Neopets. Because of this, you may want to wait to send game scores until after the GMC is released.

After today, the GMC should update with new challenges each night at midnight. The GMC usually goes on for seven days. SunnyNeos's Games Master Challenge 2009 guide will let you know what you have to do to complete the challenges each day, as well as give you tips on the games and show you what prizes you can win. 

In other news, Moltara Meltdown closed at midnight last night, so you can no longer play it or win prizes. Check our Atlas of the Ancients plot guide for more details.

Great for those adventurous neopians!

Small update on the Moltara Meltdown activity in the plot. The prize seems to be changing over periods of time. You may be awarded one of these three prizes. There may be more. Read our Chapter 11 guide for more info on the activity.

Also, Lablog has reached a milestone of 400,000 lab zaps recorded!!! Isn't that exciting :o

Great work everyone!  With your help, the Edna Project beat both goals of having at least 10 succesful quests, and 1,200 overall quests submitted.  By next Thursday, lets shoot for 1,750 quests submitted and 20 successful quests.

We have two new intriguing theories that we added to the bottom of the Succesful Quests page that we would like to bring to your attention as well.  The first one was received anonymously saying to quest an hour before Edna disappears to be challenged in the battledome.  So, try testing at 11pm - 12am NST.  The second, it has been noticed that many of the successful quests have one item that has a color adjective in the name (ie: Purple Negg, Bottle of Pink Sand).  Possibly, complete a 3 item quests that has one item with a color in its name.

Atlas of the Ancients Chapter 11 has been released.  There are plot steps and a new location, the Moltara Caves, which also has shops.  Our Atlas of the Ancients Guide is updated at this time. 

In the most recent NC Mall news, the Roxton Colchester III Key Quest Token that we mentioned a few days ago is listed as an Atlas of the Ancients item in the NC Mall.  Other new Moltara City/AotA plot themed NC items include the Moltara Inventor Superpack and the Whirring Steam-Powered Mystery Capsule.  The Key Quest Token comes with a cute pair of Roxton Colchester III Slippers and is now available in the NC Mall in the Specialty shop.

Chapter 10 of the Atlas of the Ancients has been released.  There are some plot steps, please check out our Atlas of the Ancients Guide. 

We've added a Petz sponsor guide for the new Petz Pointz for Petz Community Challenge.  The activity includes a daily trivia question and a very simple game, excellent for sending score 10 times a day during Neopets' birthday week!

Also, the image for a new Roxton Colchester Key Quest token has been found, possibly a plot reward.
Don't forget that the Neopets' birthday festivities are continuing for a few more days.  We're keeping our Birthday Guide updated with the daily trivia question, and you can send scores on most flash games 10 times each day.

Neopets is turning 10 and is celebrating! When redeeming your daily gift on the 10th birthday page (by opening the box) you'll be rewarded with a nifty Celebrating Neopets 10th Birthday Background and a new avatar!

Also, there's a trivia question which seems to give out a main codestone. The answer is Mystery Island Training School.

Please note: even though the message you get when redeeming your birthday gift says you can send in your games score 10 times, it seems you're actually only able to send it it 5 times. Most likely, this is a glitch.

Update: Limited edition neopets are being released today. Keep checking the Create-a-Pet page if you're looking for one. They are being released approximately every 3 hours. Thusfar Chombies and Cybunnies have been released. They seem to go on alphabetical order, so Hissi, Jetsam, Kiko, Koi, Lutari and Poogle might be available next.
Update 2: it seems different limited edition Neopets species are released each hour right now. Also, the release doesn't seem to go in alphabetical order anymore 

There are 5 new Monthly Shields. You can now earn yourself a shield that goes up to 12 years of account age!

We have updated the coding for our pet lookups and pet pages so they should all now work with the new filter system. We are still working on the shop/gallery layouts, we will keep you posted.

We've added some game tips for the plot game Cave Glider to our Chapter 9 guide of the plot.

Plot update: We have confirmation that finding the objects in Moltara City and creating the petpets is NOT part of the plot. In our Chapter 9 guide you can see a screenshot submitted by fairywings44 (thank you!!), where TNT confirms this.

We also have screenshots in the guide of neomails where TNT says people actively refreshing can 'miss' the gears. This most likely means that if you refresh when the gears are on your map, they might disappear again. Again, thanks fairywings44!

Just in time to go with the arrival of Moltara, the MME3 morphed into a Flaming Magma Rock Shower. We've updated our MME guide with a preview of it.

Also, when you've completed all four NC Challenges, you'll be awarded with two bonus items. Please check them out in our NC Challenge guide.

Update: The Obsidian Quarry appears to be a daily activity, you can get a new piece of Shiny Obsidian today if you obtained one yesterday. There are reports that the Scrap and Gears can also be found at Moltara City daily. Users claim to have found them both yesterday and today.

A new land has been discovered!  With the release of today's news, Moltara City is accessible and Chapter 9 of Atlas of the Ancients is released.  We've updated our AotA Plot Guide and NC Challenge Guide.  Also, there are new shops and games in Moltara, plus you can combine items at Tangor's Workshop.  Known petpets that can be created: Dal, Oop, Daloop, Ada, Gio, and Adagio  Items for these petpets seem to be found around the Moltara City Map. It's still unconfirmed whether these are plot steps or just new activities for the new Neopian location.  

MME3 retired from the NC Mall today and started to morph into a rather fiery stage. Check out our updated MME guide to get a preview of it.


Also, the NC Mall is having another supersale. Until 11/23, you'll be able to buy several accessories for half of their original price. After this, they will retire and might not be sold ever again. So if you're looking for a bargain, now's your chance!

Chapter 8 of the Atlas of the Ancients has been released.  No known plot steps or NC Challenge steps at this time.  Our Atlas of the Ancients Plot Guide has been updated.

Atlas of the Ancients Chapter 7 has been released.  We have updated our AotA Guide and NC Challenge Guide. 

We have added new Mood Indicators to our goodies page based off of a few of the characters in the current plot, Atlas of the Ancients.  Now you can show how you are feeling using the expressions of Roxton, Clara, or Jordie.

Also, we have added a new table to the Quest Profiles page of our Edna Project.  Now you can see how many quests have been submitted, how many of those were successful, and how many different items Edna has asked for.  We are setting a goal of 600 quests submitted by November 12th.

On November 15, Neopets will be celebrating its 10th birthday.  A celebration daily activity has been added that will last until the 15th.  Visit the 10th Birthday page and get a free gift box each day.  There's also a featured NC Mall item; today's item is the Invasion of Neopia Commemorative Background.  We've added a Neopets' 10th Birthday Guide for the festivities, so click away and enjoy the celebration!
