Job Description

We have a few Graphic Tutorials at the moment. However, we would like to increase the number of tutorials we have so that people can learn from us how to make their own graphics. One of the sections we would like more tutorials for is the Photoshop Tutorials section.

We are looking for someone who knows their way around Photoshop and it's functions. This person also needs to have a talent for explaining and writing. We are looking for someone who can write a general Photoshop tutorial explaining the basics of Photoshop. Furthermore we would like specific tutorials on how to use different functions, like our Diagonal Lines tutorial for instance. Last but not least we would like tutorials that will teach a person how to make a complete product, like our Making a Blinkie tutorial.

We do not have set in stone rules about the frequency at which you should be able to deliver guides. We prefer quality over quantity. As a guideline you could think about completing a guide every month. Of course you can make more if you have time. If you have a period in which you have little time, because of your school or job, we will respect this.

Requirements

The person we are looking for must meet the following qualifications.

You must be an expert with Photoshop. You know what options the program has and how you can use them.
You must have average or expert level with HTML and CSS. Without knowledge of HTML you will not be able to update our pages.
You must have good writing skills. When you write something, others must be able to understand what you are saying. SunnyNeo has a lot of younger users, they too must understand your tutorials.
You are okay with the fact that your tutorials will not have any credit directly to you on them. You will however be placed on the About Us page as a tutorial writer so you will still get credit due there.
You accept that when you make something for the site it will then become the site's and if you were to ever leave, the tutorials you contributed would stay.
You plan on doing this job for quite a long time. We are not looking for people who will quit after a month. Please only apply if you're sure you will enjoy this job.
You are able / allowed to download and install an FTP Program. We use this program to upload files on the SunnyNeo webserver and edit them as well. Without this program you will not be able to upload your work.
You do not work for another Neopets related website.

You are out of highschool, or 15/16 years or older.
You have Discord (preferred) or Skype.

Before you decide to apply for the position of Tutorial Writer at SunnyNeo you MUST make a petpage with a sample tutorial that you have made. You can use a tutorial you've previously made, or make one specially for SunnyNeo. We will not be judging your tutorial on the layout, we care about the contents, so feel free to use a premade layout.

So what should you put in your sample tutorial?
You should try to make your tutorial ready to be published on SunnyNeo. This means that your tutorial must be complete. Read up on our tutorials to see how in-depth they are. Also look at the style of writing in SunnyNeo's tutorials. Your tutorial must be similar in style and set-up. Use images to support your guide, that way we can not only judge your writing, but also your skill in making supporting images.

Please work on making a good, solid tutorial before applying. Your tutorial will put the most weight in your application, so make sure its 100% done when you send in your application form. Don't worry if it takes longer than a day for you to make.

If you get accepted, the work on your tutorial will be used as content on SunnyNeo (with possible alterations).

Finally, make sure that your neomail is not on neofriends-only. If we like your work we will contact you for some further details.
