Fans of Altador Cup, rejoice! The 14th installment of Neopia's most prestigious sporting event is ready to roll. The excitement of AV XIII is still fresh in the memories of fans and players alike and the latest outing promises to be just as thrilling, if not more. Among others, defending champions Tyrannia, surprise performers Faerieland and namesakes Altador are much in the news this season, for reasons good and bad. Barring AC XII, team Tyrannia has consistently been a powerhouse performer in the last 5 years and the same is expected of it this year. Team Faerieland managed to raise quite a few eyebrows and ruffle some feathers with its performance last year that earned it the 4th spot. As for Altador, the 'dud' moniker seems to be here to stay. Can these teams recreate the spark they have displayed in the past or will AC XIV end less than memorably for them? We are about to find out!

Round One of Altador Cup XIV has, so far, been a joyride for mid-tier performers of last year. Teams such as Maraqua, Darigan Citadel and Virtupets have snagged a number of remarkable victories by showing a marked improvement in form since AC XIII. However, the same can�t be said about all-time favourites and defending champions, Tyrannia. The star performers have managed only one win so far and find themselves behind teams such as Roo Island and Kiko Lake who had ended AC XIII with ranks 14 and 15 respectively. But these are early days and a lot can happen over the course of the tournament. Will team Tyrannia get its act together or is this the beginning of the end of their dream run?

What an exciting time this is to be a fan of the biggest sporting extravaganza in all of Neopia. Two weeks into it, AC XIV is truly shaping up to be the year of the underdogs. Currently, at the very top are teams Virtupets, Kreludor and Terror Mountain. Barring Terror Mountain�s 3rd place finish, AC XIII was a forgettable outing for the other two teams but AC XIV is proving to be a whole different ball game! However, with another week's play yet to happen, it remains to be seen if Virtupets and Kreludor will be able to maintain their standings. With teams like Maraqua and Lost Desert hot on their heels, one thing is for sure: it's going to be a nail-biting race to the finish line!

The second round of AC XIV has started and it looks like teams Virtupets and Terror Mountain are in no mood to budge from the top. Virtupets has maintained its standing as the top team this year while Terror Mountain has upped its standing and landed on the second spot. Team Maraqua has jumped a few places to dislodge Kreludor from the top three and secured the third position. In other news, last year's surprise 4th ranker, Team Faerieland, is yet to register a single win on the board. Team Altador is giving Faerieland company at the very bottom with just one win to their name. Here's to another week of exciting twists and turns, the Altador Cup way!
